- SCP 087 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Stairwell.
SCP-087 is an unlit platform staircase. Stairs descend on a 38 degree angle for 13 steps before reaching a semicircular platform of approximately 3 meters in diameter. Descent direction rotates 180 degrees at each platform. The design of SCP087 limits subjects to a visual range of approximately 1.5 flights. A light source is required for any subjects exploring SCP-087, as there are no lighting fixtures or windows present. Lighting sources brighter than 75 watts have shown to be ineffective, as SCP-087 seems to absorb excess light.
Subjects report and audio recordings confirm that distressed vocalizations from what is presumed to be a child come from approximately 200 meters below the initial platform.

110 montauk is why I think I think it's number 3. It's information that in the wrong or well intentioned hands would cause undo harm. After all it's a little girl that wanted to be free right? The behavior is more consistent too. Chasing away men but inviting women down? On top of that it's the most brutal of the lot, and equally the most dangerous. My bet is Number 3 is the closest to the actual truth since the other two aren't necessarily worth entirely redacting. Not unless stealing faces also included stealing memories, and in the case where you just see his body than that's case closed nothing changes.

The thing a lot of people seem to gloss over is, the entity stopped looking at the D-class in the third test. Instead began to stare at the researchers through the camera. It is my guess the final test involved the creature actually exiting the staircase, either through the door itself or through the camera equipment of the D-class sent down. And that is why it is closed for good, and why any knocking is to be ignored. It figured out there is a world outside its staircase.

To perserve the mysterious aspect of it, I'm sure if Abel did go down there, eventually he'd lose contact and then reappear inside his coffin with no memory of what happened.
Also, I'm not sure if the stairs are laid out where you can just drop through the middle. I could be wrong, but my recollection is that the platforms between the flights are semicircles, so the flights are kind of layered beneath one another without space in the middle to just drop down.
The problem with that is when Able dies he comes back to life in the tomb perfectly fine, they shoved a grenade in his open chest cavity and he still came back to life

It kept reminding me of the endless staircase in Mario 64. And I was genuinely dismayed that not once did any researcher nor D-class ever think to ask if they should go back and make sure it's still X floors back up to the top.

The creepy thing about this, I used to have a reoccurring dream that was that I was going down a seemingly endless staircase. But I did get to the bottom. There was a door, with a big bar that you sorta push down to open the door. On the other side, for some reason my grandpa was there, and he was super aggressive and started following me back up as I started going back. Then I usually wake up

No. No person is making the youtube channel. It's SCP-001. It's a secret that wants to be told so it manifests as a youtube series. 001 is the entire foundation data base. We'll sort of. The entire foundation data base makes up 001. When we write a new SCP, it becomes that SCP an alternate universe, altering reality to paradoxically fit all SCPs into the same universe. Sometimes the SCPs even contractdict the existence of other SCPs, which is what proved it reality altering capabilities.
Suddenly that scene where you get grabbed by scp-087-1 in SCP:CB seems very accurate.

If memory serves, two individual cannot enter the staircase. The room will present itself differently if two people enter. They will instead find an empty room and feel very unsettled instead of a staircase.
Third is most likely. The other two are pretty pedestrian for the foundation. if they can let us know all about the infinite Ikea, they can let you read about those misadventures. I noticed for the third scenario, it highlighted that the entity was taking the women, and not bothering with the men. The final D-class man went in by himself. It was trying to get a vessel to "be born." Unfortunately, it wasn't working out because none of these women were pregnant, which might have been a better match for the child. However, that's not impossible to find on a school campus with people coming and going all of the time.
Well and what they forgot is a tale where it got explained that its just a hunting organism/thing/whatever and they send down an MTF to discover whats down there only for all of them be killed and the final one landing in a hellish, blood flooded landscape with a little "girl" that ate the final member

They obviously just didn’t remember to backwards long jump. If they had done that they would have met gay bowser and said so long. Then they would have come back to safety in the castle to eat peach’s cake.
I think it has something to do with fear. 087-1 seemed to appear once someone became too afraid and turned back. There are a few people on Earth who are not capable of fear, perhaps by sending someone with that trait in, 087-1 wouldn't appear. It wouldn't solve the potentially infinite nature of 087, but it might allow for higher quality expeditions. However if it's based on turning around at all, which is another possibility, then this idea falls flat on its face. Either way, the test would reveal which of the two was the case.
So we need 70 power stars to find the end to SCP-087
I'd prefer more scientific approach then just throwing d class at it. To me it seems what actually gets you in this one is fear. How about sending someone physically incapable of feeling fear? What would happen then?
I was thinking that as well, or send remote rover with treads that can grip on and climb back up the stairs.

Yeah I was wondering why they don't use drones more, it would be extremely beneficial for certain situations. Like with this one, there are 2 possibilities. 1, the drone reaches the end, or at least goes down as far as it can, or 2, the creature destroys the drone. Either way, you board it up and nothing happens. Threat contained. The GOC would likely just send a ton of men down there, only to have them die.

I kinda like all of them in some way, but in all honesty, I loved the concept of not knowing and keeping it a mystery the best. Because what is in your head might be more terrifying than knowing the answer. But I know, that is an old fashion concept :D

Okay so read my idea, just thought of it it was pretty dope, at the bottom of the next paragraph but I'm starting with my rating.
A and b were boring. C was a little bit better but I still wasn't a fan. They all felt a little on the nose. Like I don't think the stairwell needs to have a bottom. I don't think the face needs to have a body. I don't think it should be interested in murdering men at all. I feel like the crys of a baby are scarier than a little girls. I liked the mystery of this scp giving it to much of a form makes it way less scary.
I would say on a fourth expedition they would send four more d-class. Another male who made it down to where the female d-class died first time around. He would descend a few more flights before he found the image of a flayed female disembowled from sternum to groin mouth permanently agape in pain and terror, burnt... almost engraved into the wall but her eyes fleshy eyes would remain rolling in agony as banshee like wailing and screaming only audible from that specific flight of stairs could be heard.
Under fear of the punishment of death the doctor would convince the d-class to continue making his way down he would descend another twenty floors before the face began to appear again. He would run away from it down many more flights before it appeared in front of him it would then pass through him and he would mysteriously find himself at the entrance.
The second d-class a female would be sent down she wouldn't make it to the burnt image but she would hear the woman's screams twenty flights above it. They would be inaudible to the camera and she would have to tell the scientist what was being said "RUN IT HATES YOU IT WANTS TO PUNISH YOU IT WANTS YOU TO SUFFER TURN BACK IT DESPISES THE WOMB IT DESPISES THE HOME. FLEE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE." Again the d-class would be threatened with execution by the scp operative and compelled to continue. She would make it down ten more flights before the face appeared to her she would begin running away but the last thing heard would be her screams as the camera cut to black after she made it ten flights back up.
Again the scp scinetist would send in another female d-class. This time with the most spectacularly disastourous result of all as soon as she entered, the fate that befell the first two women would happen to her and her image would be ingrained into the backside of the entry door into the stairwell. This time the screaming and wailing would be audible from outside the door with the loud sounds of beating, scraping and clawing on the door could be heard.
As a last ditch effort to make it to the bottom of the stairs they would send in a modified d-class male. This male would have undergone a specialized lobotomy and extreme psychological manipulation to not only make him entirely unemotional and fearless but completely obedient. He would be hooked up to remote lifesign monitors and have a feeder pack that intravenously took care of nutritional needs for up to two weeks.
The d-class would enter the stairwell and verify that the third female d-class was the person ingrained onto the entry door using the biometric data to analyze the fleshy eyes. Once confirmed the d-class would make his way down to the second female d-class again for confirmation. Then the third. Again their scream only audible on the flight of stairs they died on no specific warnings just unintelligible death crys.
The d-class would then began to make his way down the stairs a week would pass and his feet at this point would begin to fail him the flesh on the bottom of his feet would begin sloughing off and he would crash onto his chest but due to the manipulation he would continue his journey unimpeded by dragging himself down the stairs eventually his feeder pack would run out of nutritional supplement and he would somehow manage to carry on for another week before his body completely failed. He would die after climbing down tens of thousands of flights. The scp scientists would be able to monitor the live feed of his camera staring at a dark and empty stairwell for another week and right before it died the face would appear but this time be every so slightly more defined and have distinct characteristics that would be able to identify it as a late stage fetus.
The end
Think that would be way cooler than the three the video gave us.

At the bottom of the staircase is a parallel staircase leading back up, and the face is friendly and calmly guides you back to the surface where there is a cake waiting for you.

The first interpretation reminds me of 096 except less volatile. Seeing 096 means you die.
But seeing the face means leave or you die. Similar proportions too and the crying as well. Maybe 096 was expelled from the staircase for being too volatile to whatever entities live inside.

Ok I have a plan to reach the bottom. We take a picture of 096's face, DO NOT LOOK AT IT, and tape it on the wall where 087-1 appears. Then well... for good measure, just tell reddit theres the president down there and they all take up arms and go in. Or just pick up 682 and YEET down the steps. Last idea, over 5,000 D class conga line all armed with restored PPSHs and TOW missile launchers.
I say set SCP - 297 loose at the top of the stairs and let it vibrate itself all the way to the bottom.

In this one, some floors were covered in blood (in places where the previous D class had been, where they were devoid of anything like that at the time).
And more important, when the D class finally dies, he drops the camera in the middle of the staircase, where it fell for hours and hours until the signal of the video was too weak to receive anymore.

When dealing with SCPs like 087 that induce fear, why not try surgically removing the area of the brain that makes us feel fear? It's been done in real life, sometimes on accident and even by request.
What are the odds that when you get to the bottom there is a 'under construction' sign with another flight of stairs being built?
They could really have informed the D-class personnel about the face they were about to encounter on that staircase… they all got a panic attack and therefore rendered unable to make logical decisions.
You have to remember that the SCP Foundation does not roll like that, since when does the Foundation ever inform the D-classes about the SCPs?

Tldr; I can't read about SCPs because of trauma, so thank you for making these kinds of videos about them!
I really like this channel. I have a very wild imagination, and an involuntary tendency of putting myself in situations I can't understand in an attempt to gain insight on the particular situation. It's a trauma response I developed in childhood. While it makes me a very empathetic person, it also has the unfortunate side effect of giving me a horrible aversion to bodyhorror and the unknowable. If I see a picture or hear a description of something awful, my mind automatically puts me in the situation the person is in.
For an example, I was once described a teleportation mishap of someone being teleported half fused inside a solid stone wall, still very much alive. Immediately my mind went to imagine how it would feel if my brain functions literally met a solid wall, synapses being disrupted by being suddenly fused with stone. Would I be able to think? If so, to what extent? Would it be painful? How long would I live after becoming like that? What about my heart, half of it would still be free, would it still beat?
Because of this, I hadn't been able to read SCP stuff, because of the mental work my head automatically does. But in this format, it's different. The animation is simple, but clear enough that it doesn't leave much for me to imagine. Plus the power point-esque designs of the characters and environments help me further distance myself from them enough to just enjoy the weird stuff.
This SCP for an example would have been impossible for me to read without suffering from nightmares afterwards, but in this sort of video format, I can get the information in a non triggering way, so I can enjoy SCPs without having to wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night.
So, long rant made short, thank you, I really appreciate you guys making these videos!

@@blackironwalterkus3851 Not exactly! Yes, the basis is similar, but it's more complicated than that.
After I posted this comment I've come to learn that in addition to the trauma I'm most likely a HSP (highly sensitive person, there are some good videos on it), so how my mind reacts to things is a lot more intense than the average person. Usually people have a certain divide between themselves and things that they learn about, and they can imagine things in an objective way.
For people like me, the imagined scenario is far more intense, as if we're actually experiencing it, and it can cause severe discomfort and even panic attacks. For me personally, a simplified animated representation of SCPs makes it easier for me to create a divide between fiction and reality.
I do understand the confusion, though, HSP isn't a widely known trait, and I myself have only recently found out that I am one. I suggest watching a few videos on the subject, it's really helped me to rationalize what is actually going on in my head! And even if you're not one yourself, it's useful to know if you ever come across such a person.

Of the three theories, only the last one seems extreme enough for redaction. Even then, the only justification I can think of is to hide the other existence of the entities in case some cultists want to free them.
The third is the most likely as the first two wouldn’t need to be redacted.
If the SCP are aware of what the father and Child are specifically and consider them a Cognitohazard they would redact them (incompatible hosts feel fear, comparable hosts are driven to find them)

I'm going with scenario 3 just because it makes the most sense why they would board it up and redact the information the most possibility for containment breach
I have an idea.
Try going down multiple stairs. Past the bottom of the school, but not far enough to reach the face. Then, use some breaching explosives and blow a hole into the wall to see what is behind it.
Probably dirt.
I am not so sure. It is on the upper floor of a building, but does not exit anywhere else in the building, so it may be an extra dimensional space.
And even if it is dirt, they can dig up and see what is above the staircase.
More stairs bro. Non-Euclidean geometry. Maybe you would end up dealing with two ghost faces or freeing the monster into an orphanage for sad llamas in a different dimension.

I feel the biggest hole in 087-1 having a 096-esque body is descent 2, where the D-Class was able to lay unconscious for 14 minutes unharmed, and proposal 3 is unlikely as many people have already been consumed,
However the missing people and damage found at floor 51 (The same floor that 087-1 appeared for descent 1), and removed LEDs does mean something destructive is most definitely down there.
My suspicions are that A: 087-1 is, as some have suggested, something that actually tries to protect those who descend the stairs and B: When the desire to leave is voiced the real danger comes for those who descend, the crying that draws you in deeper and deeper.
Honestly, explanation 3 sounds like the most probable because that's the level of escalation that usually happens with these things.
I think the last Theory is the most likely. It just has that more spooky sounding Story. Hope you have an great Day y'all

Same here. Options 1 and 2 are way to tame and simple to have been fully redacted. Also, having watched enough Euclid- and Keter-class SCPs, and it just seems to make the most sense.

the third one makes the most sense, the foundation don't censor brutally only sensitive information. someone could have the brilliant idea of conversing with those entities which could lead to unknown consequences. from their perspective it's better we don't allow those things into our world.

None of these are really censorship material. 1 and 2 are even pretty tame as far as SCPs are concerned.
Thats what I was thinking. 3 is still pretty tame and a bit campy with the floor that door was on. If its as heavily expunged as it is, I would assume it contains an XK class
I was expecting something like another dimension since darkness is an entirely different thing. Maybe it's a place that collects fear and manifests it in all forms (darkness, strange nasty slime, and endlessness are great foreshadowing targeted at humans) where only the most mild things are experienced first. The face inflicts fear but it might be only a sliver of true terror of what lies deeper... like a true eldritch god. How could this be found out? Send in a blind D-Class.
What if it's another non-euclidean space where something similar to SCP-184 resides? Except this one wasn't found in time to be stopped. An endless ever expanding space that got distorted over time and distance. Eventually everything got distorted. Physics was distorted. Humans that wandered down and starved themselves trying to find an end slowly became abstract from the concept of when something truly dies and becomes inanimate. Corpses with a few living cells become replicated. Life is created and distorted innumerable times...
Or... just as there are animals that use light for photosynthesis, there are... things that use this very real darkness as their nutrients. And just as there exists bio-luminescence, there's bio-darkness. Used to hide their presence yet also lure prey in.

If you think logically, the third one is the most likely to have occurred and here’s why : the first one could have happened but its nothing really special so why would the foundation hide those data, the second one is like the first one, not dangerous enough to be hidden from us and the face that switched to the one of the d-class seems fake bc the first two d-classes died and their faces where not the one of 087-1.
The last one is coherent and scary enough for the foundation to put an end to the explorations and erase the datas.

I am thinking more along the lines that the truth is hidden in all 3 stories. Or else why would there be 3. So far the face having an elongated body is a constant, a male D class entering is constant, the death of the explorer is constant, and the vastness is constant. It might be that this anomaly was designed to evoke curiosity so that the face creature hunt humans, Going back to your point this seems very likely that the reason is in the third, and that the monster in there is attempting a resurrection. It is also logical that that's why it was hidden, as it is the most threatening. But the third story might not be the entire truth and more clues could be scattered about the first 2.
Okay so read my idea, just thought of it it was pretty dope, at the bottom of this but I'm starting with my rating.
A and b were boring. C was a little bit better but I still wasn't a fan. They all felt a little on the nose. Like I don't think the stairwell needs to have a bottom. I don't think the face needs to have a body. I don't think it should be interested in murdering men at all. I feel like the crys of a baby are scarier than a little girls. I liked the mystery of this scp giving it to much of a form makes it way less scary.
I would say on a fourth expedition they would send four more d-class. Another male who made it down to where the female d-class died first time around. He would descend a few more flights before he found the image of a flayed female disembowled from sternum to groin mouth permanently agape in pain and terror, burnt... almost engraved into the wall but her eyes fleshy eyes would remain rolling in agony as banshee like wailing and screaming only audible from that specific flight of stairs could be heard.
Under fear of the punishment of death the doctor would convince the d-class to continue making his way down he would descend another twenty floors before the face began to appear again. He would run away from it down many more flights before it appeared in front of him it would then pass through him and he would mysteriously find himself at the entrance.
The second d-class a female would be sent down she wouldn't make it to the burnt image but she would hear the woman's screams twenty flights above it. They would be inaudible to the camera and she would have to tell the scientist what was being said "RUN IT HATES YOU IT WANTS TO PUNISH YOU IT WANTS YOU TO SUFFER TURN BACK IT DESPISES THE WOMB IT DESPISES THE HOME. FLEE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE." Again the d-class would be threatened with execution by the scp operative and compelled to continue. She would make it down ten more flights before the face appeared to her she would begin running away but the last thing heard would be her screams as the camera cut to black after she made it ten flights back up.
Again the scp scinetist would send in another female d-class. This time with the most spectacularly disastourous result of all as soon as she entered, the fate that befell the first two women would happen to her and her image would be ingrained into the backside of the entry door into the stairwell. This time the screaming and wailing would audible from outside the door with the loud sounds of beating, scraping and clawing on the door could be heard.
As a last ditch effort to make it to the bottom of the stairs they would send in a modified d-class male. This male would have undergone a specialized lobotomy and extreme psychological manipulation to not only make him entirely unemotional and fearless but completely obedient. He would be hooked up to remote lifesign monitors and have a feeder pack that intravenously took care of nutritional needs for up to two weeks.
The d-class would enter the stairwell and verify that the third female d-class was the person ingrained onto the entry door using the biometric data to analyze the fleshy eyes. Once confirmed the d-class would make his way down to the second female d-class again for confirmation. Then the third. Again their scream only audible on the flight of stairs they died on no specific warnings just unintelligible death crys.
The d-class would then began to make his way down the stairs a week would pass and his feet at this point would begin to fail him the flesh on the bottom of his feet would begin sloughing off and he would crash onto his chest but due to the manipulation he would continue his journey unimpeded by dragging himself down the stairs eventually his feeder pack would run out of nutritional supplement and he would somehow manage to carry on for another week before his body completely failed. He would die after climbing down tens of thousands of flights. The scp scientists would be able to monitor the live feed of his camera staring at a dark and empty stairwell for another week and right before it died the face would appear but this time be every so slightly more defined and have distinct characteristics that would be able to identify it as a late stage fetus.
The end
Think that would be way cooler than the three the video gave us.
I know some people like the mystery... but I far more enjoy having a satisfying ending. Or a choice of satisfying endings!
That's why the SCP I hate most is SCP-447. To me, sprinkling 'redacted' and then forbidding anyone from filling in the blanks just feels like lazy writing. It's a great way to *start* a story, but a video like this is a wonderful way to *finish* one.

I never thought the face was dangerous. Hostile and aggressive maybe, but I never thought it was actually dangerous and lethal. I mean, we never see the face actually harm any of the 3 proven test subjects. Just them running

All these theories have their own merits. #1 best fits with what we already know about the SCP in question, although with such a simple solution and ending, it doesn’t make sense for the file to be redacted. #2 sticks to the idea of the staircase being endless best, as it seems that the main point of the SCP is that it is in fact endless, however it doesn’t fit that the original sound would be that of a young girl crying if the face was just a simple white face. #3 has the least flaws, it provides some sort of reason for everything, except the infinite staircase not being infinite. That said, whilst it has a reason that explains everything, thats not to say it has good or fleshed out explanations, and though it tries to explain why its there, it seems to fly in the face of what we know about the staircase: it causes extreme fear, no one has ever been known to be taken by it, and noises are always a consistent distance away, which doesn’t make sense if... idk. I just don’t like #3
You're forgetting that the noise being a consistent distance away is not a fact, just a tendency. In experiment 3 as soon as the woman notices the face the sound gets closer as she descends.
Additionally, we have at least a single _confirmed_ case of the stairs abducting someone, as the D class from exploration 3 never makes it out again after falling. Sure, the method in this one seems completely different but we don't even know how the other d class woman was taken *exactly* so it may have only been become she ran that she survived for so long whereas the other woman was taken immediately.
Also, just because the staircase causes extreme fear doesn't necessarily mean that's an anomalous property per se, it could just be scary is all.
Keep in mind that I'm not saying that you have to like #3 at all, it's a preference thing, but still, those criticisms in particular feel odd

I'd suggest just sending a drone down there (maybe even with a cable connection to avoid having reception issues), but given that this is the SCP foundation, it would probably fail in some unforeseen way.

Yeah. The thing I love the most about this SCP (and it being one of my absolute favourites) is its simplicity and mystery. We don't know what happened and all three of these hypothetical scenarios are rather uninspired and underwhelming. With third one being downright silly.

Given it's origin, it works because it's meant to be part of a story
The endless staircase doesn't need an origin story because what made it interesting was that we didn't understand it, if this is cannon suddenly the cool and mysterious stairway becomes the new x supernatural concept number 3000

SCP foundation has technology that can stabilize the space so it's not strange that they can go down the end of the stairs.
To me, the most likely is the third, cause the rest are too weak to warrant scp top secret. Top secret is usually to protect or keep something somewhere. Given the fact that the stairwell is accessible by the public, no matter how reinforced, for the third the secret would keep the serpent's hand or chaos insurgency away from trying to open the door. Though i would happily take another scenario. I wont take that one as fact personnaly.
I think i like the second story the most. The idea that the crying coming from the bottom being the previous victim is terrifiying knowing that before the foundation found it its peveious victom was a child. The face taking on the fetures of the pevious victom is ok, Having more femenin features means that the crying comes from the face itself. The 80s quaff hairstyle was pretty dumb tho lol.
The scariest part of 087 is having to walk back up all those stairs.

Honestly my favorite one is the idea that the staircase is alive and uses the face to make people vulnerable so it can absorb them

Though this is already been said I still wanna say it.
Send a bunch of Class-Ds all with powerful firearms (RPG, Minigun you know what I mean) and make them raid SCP-087 while upbeat music is playing and they all have flashlights pointing at different directions. Give them prime because of energy. I would really like the music being the DOOM music or that song called "Happy" because that would be cool.
I would... throw the forever bouncing ball in a perfect trajectory for it to reach the bottom or go on for eternity. There are 3 ends to this experiment.
Ending 1: Space is torn to pieces as the ball picks up so much speed that it literally punches a hole into existence. It destroys both the scp and earth.
Ending 2: The ball will bounce for eternity forever going faster and faster than anything in existence.
Ending 3: The ball reaches the bottom then comes back with a vengeance. Accidently obliterating the stairs, the face, and the door until it shoots off into space when it luckily strikes through the door which was only a matter of time.

I like the second iteration the most; it seems the most canonical. I love the Orphan reference in the 3rd one though
SCP-087 is scary because it is unexplained. Once you start to explain things you take away the unknown.
I like to imagine that with 087, it is some kind of info-hazard.
With it, we can see that fear plays some role into it, so maybe it could be that the more you know about it, the more you feed it via being scared of it.
I think the third option is the most likely to be true. It would make most sense for the foundation to stop at that point, after having found out about the girls crying and the pale ghost face. They should make a story of how father and daughter escape the stairwell.
Aside from that, there is also the theory on reddit that the stairwell will lead to one or several portals that will lead to another world, with the pale face being an astral predator from one of them.
Number 3, the foundation has dealt with worse without such redactions before. So the most dangerous and messed up is the most likely option.
I liked the 2nd one best because it wrapped the story up nicely, but the 3rd one fits the bizarre and unexpected style of SCP stories more.

The face actually doesn’t harm you and just watches you. And is just a floating face. Once you get to the bottom of the stairs, you enter a door on the bottom, when you leave it you enter the infinite ikea, and you found the exit/entrance.

Hell, my guess was that the stairs got fleshy and you realized the crying was coming from the walls at a deafening volume. You'd find long hair in patches like grass and eventually realize that the girl was covering the walls. Come to realize that the girl fell to a messy death and her father followed her dying cries down to her body and eventually took himself after she passed, creating the anomaly. The father intercepts anyone coming down, dragging them to the bottom to help him save her and won't let them leave as they slowly integrate with the anomaly to keep it alive, gasping and crying for new help to arrive. The hole she fell through is no longer visible, as the stairwell changed shape when it became anomalous due to the perception of its victims during the crisis.
But man... not gonna lie... not too fond of the fact that all 3 outcomes are a murder monster. I kinda liked the fanfic about the Lucky 7, a squad that went down and came back. Things seemed so much more haunting, infinite and fractal in nature. It could have been anything down there. But you're either munched, munched and have your face stolen, or you meet satan and his daughter. I miss the idea of entire twisted realities lying at the end of these bridges with their own potential ecosystems like they eventually did with the "mystery flesh pit national park" creepypasta.
Then again, maybe my expectations were shaped by things like Suicide Mouse, P.T. and other stories where things get more not-OK the deeper you get. Kind of sad that the ride of perpetual horrors stops so soon at a guy in a monster costume who woke up and chose violence today.
