Ok I see! So you’re making an addition but once completed you’re turning part of it into the JADU plus second story ADU all on main property! That’s genius
@@HektorCastillo They are adding a JADU to an existing part of the home but at the same time doing an addition on a different part of the house. It sounded like you were saying you can’t do an addition and a JADU at the same time.
@@Hizenbird You can't. They don't let you build a "new" JADU as part of the main residence. You have to permit and build a standard addition that is part of the main residence and then AFTER final you can go back to the city and get it permitted as a JADU, although there will likely be some minor modifications necessary. I'm currently doing this same thing.

It’s nice seeing the working man being able to make the system work for him for a change.
Please make a UA-cam and share prices of construction
I am doing something very similar. My Question is what did you tell the City you will be building?
Thx
Is your JADU going to be inside the ADU or main house? I need to do an ADU and a JADU but I want the JADU inside the ADU.
It will be part of the main house.

If you are in California, the law allows you to build a NEW JADU attached to an ADU if the ADU/JADU is a separate building from the main residence.
Wait, I have neighbors building an addition including adding a JADU. Where did you hear that that’s not allowed?
Per California building code a JADU must be existing space. However every city has their own building codes
