Thank you! I have a sewing machine that skips stitches. I took it back to Sears but, they wouldn't allow me to return it because, I waited too long even before I opened the box to use it. The Sales Representative was at her wits-end as to fix the problem. And, I left there swearing that I would NEVER purchase another Singer sewing machine from Sears. Now, after watching you today, I finally "know" why my sewing machine skips stitches. It's the bobbin case! Thank you!
Great video - so very clearly explained and with a really good view of the bobbin-case. Clear, to the point, no 'showboating' by a presenter that seems to want to be a personality more than to demonstrate a particular topic, very helpful indeed. Thanks for this excellent video.
I was trying to learn free motion quilting, but always had skipped stitches. I kept increasing the top tension until it was almost at the limit. I also tried all the other suggestions about changing thread, changing needle, rethreading, etc. Nothing worked. Decided to use the adjustable bobbin case (mine has pink paint over the screw). Adjusted in 1/4 increments and retried. Finally 1.25 turns later, my free motion quilting is smooth going!
I worked in a garment factory for 20 and father was the main mechanic there for 38 yrs, I had no idea that my brother bobbin case was set for 60 weight thread!😖 No wonder I was having some problems. My dad passed back in 2007 and many times I've had a problem with something I was stitching and wished I could ask him about it. I shall be paying more attention to my thread weight from this point forward. 🙄🤣
Thank you so much for pointing that out! I had meant to grab a different spool. I just double checked and the one I show in the video is a 40 wt. That is why it is thicker than the bobbin thread. I will put a note in the description of the video noting that mistake. Thank you again for pointing it out.

That's awesome! Great job!
What is 90 wt. thread, Topsstitching thread? Button and carpet thread? Is the 60 wt all purpose thread?
I have problems with my top is the same under neat no white showing under neat can you help me please.
What about other machines? Do they just come with an adjustable screw on the bobbin case? I have Singer and Kenmore machines.
If it doesn't have any Loctite on the tension screw, it is adjustable. I would still recommend consulting your manual for any specific details.

I hope it will help save you future frustration!

How do you know how to buy a bobbin case for my machine?
Meaning serial or model number of bobbin case.
What causes a case to pop out when sewing don't know what to do 😮
Thank you!!
My pleasure!
Why is the 90 weight thread you are showing thicker than the 60 wt?
