Just the idea of using standard connectors in non-standard ways in hidden areas that most wouldn't usually access is something I want to see more. Even simple stuff like that being entirely possible should be adopted more for repairability's sake.
It's cool and novel but idk man, I have never broken headphones like that. I chucked a pair of sony xm3 (older model of the xm4 i forgor what is called)on the concrete and all that broke was the frame. Snapped in half but the wires inside were fine and I functioned normally aside from the obvious not fitting the head. Not to say all are like that but...
@basicallyhuman Eh, that's not that clear cut. Fairphone can do this on this product because they intentionally went for a bulky look. If they were going for lightweight exercise gear or just slimmer looking gear having everything be easily repairable with big screws, chonky plastic and three separate PCBs wouldn't be so trivial. While these headphones are great there is still a space for more complex and "boundary pushing" stuff. IMO what sets Fairphone apart isn't the speckled plastic or big screws, but rather the amazing, consumer facing and widely advertised availability of parts and repair guides. If a company gives me the necessary parts and guides to repair my products I can tolerate the products being complex and somewhat hard to work with in the name of lightness, compactness or some other intresting design quality. The blatant obfuscation of parts availability and information is a far bigger issue, and unlike "don't design small things" it's something that's possible to regulate and do something about.
The Fairphone proves the opposite. I love the fact that it exists in the market, but it is anything BUT easy to make good repairable products. The Fairphone 5 is specced like a $250 phone, but it costs more than double that, almost triple in some regions. It's great if you are a consumer that really cares about the features they're offering, but they have to sacrifice other features that their competitors offer to do so. This is not viable for any other company, that has other selling points. Yes, the price of being "fair" could come down if a company like Apple invested in it, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt their short-term profits a LOT.
I'm more impressed with how easy it is to replace the headband. from my experience, it's one of the weakest points in a headphone. other manufacturers require you to be very careful and remove several screws, but not this one. the replaceable battery is nice as well!
@professorflaw3389 The Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro headband costs 10 Euro, too. I think 20 is managebale, especially since I had to replace mine exactly once in 10 years. I don't think you will be buying the bands and cables every couple weeks or even months.
@@idiotically-everything Okay, I gotta admit that I use mine indoor only so I have no idea how the Beyerdynamics behave in such situations, but the headband is made of imitation leather so I guess it wouldn't be a problem. Although, to be fair, if you wear them outside, you might replace your headband more often than once in 10 years even with the DT770 Pros since the fake leather still cracks and flakes off in those cracks over time - mostly due to the fact that the headband has to compress constantly if your head isn't large enough for the max. size setting.

Best tip: Just get yourself Wired Studio quality headphones. It'll last you far longer than any wireless headphones and the sound quality is better. You're pay $300+ for repairability, but the main focus of an audio product is sound quality, which this headphone lacks.
I could only dream of Fairphonr coming to the US. All it needs is a good price, good camera, and a pen option (just because I like using the s pen),and boom, we could have a good competitivor that can stand apart from Apple and Samsung. I would love to see it.
This is undoubtedly very impressive! But q question popped in my mind - 'Is it possible to charge the battery separately? Whenever we are using the headphones, the extra battery (with low energy) should be able to charge, so that we can swap immediately! (Hope it's understandable).. ❤
Some feedback, if wanted: I know that sound quality testing isn't the focus of a (mainly phone) repair channel, buuuuuut it's kinda a really big deal when it comes to headphones and pricing. Perhaps next time you could do some comparisons, too. Again, I know that it's not your focus, but it would have elevated the video to a "complete test" for me.

We need frequency graph for it.
Yo PRG, I liked your turning into usb-c every device that you use, can you please continue it? It would be really cool to turn your iPhone usb-c
Best tip: Just get yourself Wired Studio quality headphones. It'll last you far longer than any wireless headphones and the sound quality is better. You're pay $300+ for repairability, but the main focus of an audio product is sound quality, which this headphone lacks.
i was expecting scarlet fire when he used the freakish ears to test the sound
Still prefer my Sennheiser HD6XX.
No screws to unscrew or replace anything inside the headphone, can't beat that ;)
i feel like beyerdynamic does it best, especially with their dt pro x range.
Sound quality is nice 👍
Fairphone was nearly bankrupt like a year ago, but I don’t know how the situation is now
Yea I'm buying those headphones ASAP
Fairbuds look really cool in both senses
I could only dream of Fairphonr coming to the US. All it needs is a good price, good camera, and a pen option (just because I like using the s pen),and boom, we could have a good competitivor that can stand apart from Apple and Samsung. I would love to see it.
This is undoubtedly very impressive! But q question popped in my mind - 'Is it possible to charge the battery separately? Whenever we are using the headphones, the extra battery (with low energy) should be able to charge, so that we can swap immediately! (Hope it's understandable)..
❤
Wouldn’t mind if they released a battery hub so I never have to charge my headphones
These are awesome. Wish we had these in the States.
Built in charging wire nice
I cant wait to see the guy that reloads everything to reload these headphones lol
This is the trend that we need to support!
So you are telling me,i can make both of these mini speakers?
this man never forgets taking w's
For the removable battery it's worth a buy
if its just a usb c cable, that means 3rd party headphone straps. i think this is a really cool concept
Man, that's a game changer...
I hate so much when something breaks in my headphones, and I need to buy another pair.. I like everything about this pair, but the price😢 if it wouldn't be about money then I'd buy them immediately!
@@Buenosaurus-Rex for shure💯💯
We need removable batteries.. and that usb typec was wow
