For me Tavascan looks much better than ID7 (probably best looking EV SUV right now), but in the end for me the choice will be down to price and final range of the longest range RWD version of each of them.
Beautiful car actually with a daring design. So much better than the ultra bland ID family from vw. It's rare to see a brand nowadays make a distinctive design, respect!

I like the design of the Cupra cars over the conservative styling of the VW ones. I really hope the rumors of Cupra entering the North American market is true because I think the VW group would sell more cars as a result.
Very nice, I just hope they've sorted out the infotainment system that's riddled with bugs as in the Formentor models. Yes I have one and it ruins what could have been an excellent car and most owner's are suffering the same electrical niggles, what are the VW group doing to fix this problem? Not enough.

Wow, great job by Seat. Considering they have inherited some poor design choices, they have managed to create a spectacular car. The only downside of this car is that it makes the IDs look even more average - if that were possible.
i dont believe the efficiense of the motor is dubble that of id3/4. Normally a modern electric motor like a permanent magnet has been over 90% efficiense for years. Maybe the loss in the motor is half the old one like 88% in the old and 94% in the new ? please give us numbers instead.
would prefere smaller infotainment screen instead and a bit different instruments display matching more the sporty style of the vehicle but i guess that's vw influence on cupra
They're gaudy to me. But I wouldn't mind as long as owners can switch them off. Otherwise, I'd just disconnect it, if I really liked the car otherwise.
So far it seems that ID7 is the only model in VW family that has somewhat succeeded with both the exterior and interior design, though in my opinion the exterior would have been way better with sedan trunk. Now the back looks a little bloated. Interested to see how the estate version will look like. This new Cupra nailed the exterior but totally messed up the interior. Seat Enyaq nailed the interior but had bland exterior as Skoda always does. And earlier IDs failed both on the exterior and interior. It's hard to get both with VW.
ID7 "somewhat succeeded"? Honestly, it's one of the fugliest cars on the market, total failure. But I guess it's with a sense of design as it is with musicality. Some people just don't have it. :-)
Can anybody explain to me why manufacturers are making so many SUVs when the point of using electric cars are being efficient? To achieve that you need lower weight + more aerodynamic body (on top of the battery's capacity), not to mention the cars for sure look way better in a coupé \ sedan \ SW style.
Thinking scientifically is not what sells. Companies are in the practice of supplying demand. People want SUVs so thats what they give. All other things are secondary.

The Cupra Designers are doing a fantastic job 👏👏👏👏👏 the brand looks very sophisticated, it will be very dificult for VW to do something better. The level of detail is impressive, the inside shape of the doors and the handle are so nice, the entire front console it has what in Industrial design we call bionic, the interpretation of a whale tail, very marine inspiration in the interior the LED front and back shape is unique. Hope that the brand come to United States soon.
That interior center console looks like it was designed by the Battlestar Galactica Cylons. A bit too extreme in my opinion even for futurist lovers....
This is pretty sick. As a Czech guy, I would be expected to go for Enyaq RS, though Skoda messed up multiple things there: the price is ridiculous, and it has such a low max speed that it's not worthy of the RS batch. Nevertheless, with Cupra being part of VW, I worry the price will be from out of this world....
SEAT going away, if true, is majorly disappointing. Hopefully they'll come back after Cupra's full EV transition, it just doesn't make sense to lose the main brand.
Cupra will sell more cars than SEAT in few years. There is no reason to keep SEAT as it is if your new car brand will sell more than the old and well known one.

Precisely because no one *wants* to buy a Seat over another brand (save perhaps for some Spaniards that grew up with it), they cannot charge their customers extra for the necessary expensive tech they need to meet upcoming Euro 7 norms. And they cannot get their customers to pay for EVs either.
UI looks really smooth. It's a pitty they have this predator style part in the middle which looks cheap. Also why bringing back those capacitive BS buttons? Otherwise, nice one. Wondering if the engine "delivers" also when having low SOC

In the USA, you either pay a fortune for a matte finish car, or you spend 2-3k and get a plastic wrap. So this is an amazing value vehicle. Cupra doesn't ship to the USA yet, but if VW had any brains they would sell this as new sub-brand at VW dealers. I don't understand why VW insists on only shipping stodgy vehicles to California, when we lust after menacing things all the time. Look at how popular archaic muscle cars are to this day... VW has incompetent mgt.

Easily the best looking MEB based car, I would take this over Audi and VW any day! Hope it’s coming to Sweden early 2024.
I'm in the US and enraged Cupras are not sold here, VW designers are bottom tier compared to Cupra designers, it's not even close.

Apparently VW Group has a hard time getting rid of the fake buttons on the steering wheel... On the other hand I can't buy a car with this "feature"

There’s a new update that allegedly solves several bugs, I have not gotten it installed yet but it came out a month ago

Who buys a Seat because it’s a Seat? Brand has no equity. No equity means no pricing power. It’s a goner.
The high ups at SEAT have no plans to build any EVs at all. The EU will have banned combustion cars by 2035 so there's no future at all for them.

considering in most country's the average male height is 5'8-5'11 the back seat has enough head room for most people...

In the USA, you either pay a fortune for a matte finish car, or you spend 2-3k and get a plastic wrap. So this is an amazing value vehicle. Cupra doesn't ship to the USA yet, but if VW had any brains they would sell this as new sub-brand at VW dealers. I don't understand why VW insists on only shipping stodgy vehicles to California, when we lust after menacing things all the time. Look at how popular archaic muscle cars are to this day... VW has incompetent mgt.

The Cupra Tavascan is the ID4's alter ego. It's got the same power but with a whole new attitude.
It doesn't have same power that new powertrain is more powerful and efficient.

Nice looking but a bit boring with all the suv coupes now. I was hoping for an Enyaq style suv wagon from Cupra.
