@@AutoSocialUK That might be but the chances that it will actually appear are more then slim. SEAT is not even building any cars (EVs) here in Martorell anymore, it all comes from China. But die Chinese got tons of cars in that range. Half the price.

They completely forgotten about the formula for a hot hatch, especially when the desirable, entry level EVs are here to begin with. The UP had a GTI model for crying out loud, but not the electric?
It’s on the way, check out the ID2 from VW, and the notes on the ID 1. Those cars will highly probably translate to Cupra’s as well
@@jeffreyt02 That is just another announcement of VW. Sometimes in the future. If at all. On top at fantasy prices. I am not paying 30000+ for a tiny hatchback when I get a Model 3 for a few Euros more.
Nice car but the expected price is madness,when the Chinese descend with all their new models there will be a bloodbath and many brands will be gone. We need EVs with pricing between £15,000-£25,000.
People need to watch the Shanghai Motor Show to see what legacy manufacturers are up against.
Agree with both of you, vehicle prices in Europe are pure madness compared to Asia and the US. But our wonderful European Union will definitely not allow the us or China to torpedo the eu car manufacturers, hence will be stuck with overpriced german sedans or French/Italian unreliable shitters.
It's great to see Cupra coming up with more interesting designs that VW is too afraid to do, but that isn't saying much given how conservative the ID range have been so far.
While the Cupra Tavascán will be built in China, the Cupra brand is currently not offered in China. Well, there’s nothing wrong with it being built in China; hell, we get quite a few cars in the UK and Europe from China.

it has been mindblowing how many people just this year alone have been trading their ev cars in at our dealerships and switching back to fuel powered ones

Contrary to what some comments think, I can confirm there are buttons on the steering wheel controls borrowed from the ID7 so there is an improvement on this

Why doesn't it get 170kW charging like the ID cars are getting with just a OTA update or fresh if ordered recently? Does it tow & max tow weight and can it take a roofbox(weight)?

Sorry, but that 135kW charging speed is a dealbreaker for me. What happened to 800V 350kW charging becoming the new standard?? Or at least 150kW with a high sustained charge rate like the eTron?
Nobody wants to wait 30 min. to charge. Need to cut that down to 15 or 20 min. Other than that, it looks pretty great. Love the interesting interiors coming out as of late! No more boring black holes from the Germans.
every time i see a new ev stating a 30 min. fast charge time i can't help but grin over having an ev6 that does it in 18 min.😜
@@lexlopez15 You made a good choice. I drive an ID3 for an absolutely incredible deal, but I'd take the faster charging car all else being equal.

I agree. It looks so incredibly sporty. It makes audis look like old fashioned and boring dad cars. In fact it looks closer to Porsche Cayenne then Audi/Volkswagen. I also love the logo which looks like the logo of some Dungeons and Dragons evil snake cult.
@@MyAnalyser Cupra brand launch was genius from VW . I can only speak Finnish side but here in Finland SEAT Cupra's where well know cars in 90's so Finnish side this Cupra was well know brand Even its new. Finland loves VW cars and Cupra Born is selling very good on here. I'm not biggest fan of Cupra Born exterior style, but Born looks much better in real life. I cannot wait to see these Tavascans on the road becouse they all ready Look amazing on the video and i bet that in real life they Look Even better like Cupra Born.
Urban Revel concept the real name be Raval a neighborhood of Barcelona ; Cupra and Seat named full autos with names of Spain something similar to.Italian Lambo and is shield with the bull and the Spanish names.for exemple even the Urus is the bears that name because is the ancestor of bull.; etc.

@@Lacteagalaxia Look in google maps and you will see that Tavascan is a small village with 114 residents in 2018 located in the Catalan Pyrenees. All Seat models based on locations.
No, that's not the "compromise you get for looking so futuristic", the cheap plastics are there just to save on costs and enlarge your profit margin.

These cars with VERY tilted profile lines never grew on me, and I don't think they will. Please please Range Rover and Mini, don't change 🥺

Do people not get fed up of the VW group trying to fool the buyers into believing they are getting something different,lets be honest you can clothe a car in a fancy body with quirky bits (presenter says light up badge )but it is just a VW product underneath ,as is SEAT, AUDI,SKODA,BENTLEY,yes there is also porsche,lamborghini..so its badge enginering.

Exactly. My first car had about 40hp. I’m a die hard petrol head but I had to cut the cloth to suit as a student. Excess cannot last.

So another car which when you are driving in the rain in town driving you have no rear view because there are no rear wipers because the designers are cheap.
Ever thought about using your side mirrors to see to the rear? How a truck driver has to because usually their view is blocked out the back.
@@JoeBloggs-ev2ui I am a van driver mate and miss not having a rear view. Side mirrors are just that, SIDE mirrors.

Learn to drive with side mirrors and it actually makes you a better driver because you have to allow for space at the back rather than just looking at an infotainment screen with rear camera. Drive a truck that is so long that you have to use every spare inch of the road, and driving a car or van becomes easy

Where is the evolution of these cars? I don´t care about design but I care about functionality. The flat screen is absolutely uselss if it can´t be stored away for driving and if essential buttons arn´t available on the console for driving. I need a car that I can drive without any distraction of a huge screen staring in my face.
Looks great until I saw inside dash, definitely the id4 chassis and software, car is officially junk before it starts, when will VW redesign the bade chassis for their cars and dump their software for a modern platform.

This car is a slightly redesigned id5 skoda enyaq coupe. You cam see all the commonality in design . Just like id3 and cupra born. Its amazing how superficial car reviewer have become in 45 year because when BL did this rebadging of its products it was ridiculed. How things have changed.

"Great buttons on the steering wheel" are you thick..? Capacitive touch buttons on the steering wheel are a disaster and obviously from the VW parts bin.
I’m talking about the stop/start and the drive mode buttons. I agree, I do not like haptic buttons.
Good vid, but the front of that thing is ugly. And that's not just my opinion, it's right! I mean, who wants to own a car that looks like an angry Pokemon? Not me! And there are a lot of 'em about.

Again your gushing over a tablet screen that has no place being in a car . This vehicle is not a toy its not a xbox or play station it's a 2 tonne plus complex machine that can kill and your promoting a screen that will distract driver. Will take eyes of the road . Not having physical knows and button makes driving more difficult and dangerous and the sooner we get law maker on board to protect people the better. Simple rotary knobs or some button are 100% safer than touch screens. This has been proven in safe test and by the person who drove into me because they where trying to find the hvac controls on a screen.
Delighted to hear that there is someone else that thinks so called infotainment screens are potentially dangerous; I also feel the same about #laneassist and #ACC, not being able to switch off lane assist by default only adds to the problem.
I have recently been told that in foggy conditions many drivers activate their driver assist programs and bat down motorways at max speed, madness!

So when I turns out to be rubbish and all goes tits up, well it was built in China the country where cutting corners is a national past time. I once put a set of Goodyear F1 Eagles on my car, they were made in Germany and were fantastic, so good I got a second set after they'd worn out. I only noticed that the second set were made in China after they had been fitted, I called them Goodyear Ditch Finders, the absolute worst set of tyres ever. Good luck with your Seat, you're gonna need it.

@@chrisspain I think you will find that the Born, ID3, ID4 and ID Buzz are all built in Germany, this is the first electric VW Group car to be built in China....😱😱
@@brownpartnership11 No, ID3 and parts of the ID 4, yes, the Buzz is manufactured in tiny amounts in Germany until they plan to ramp up the production, batteries (the main part) are all coming from China. The Born is a SEAT from Spain, Cupra is SEAT here in Spain but they are not building anything here in Martorell. The Born is hardly available anyway. Most VW electric cars are only advertised but not to buy. At least not now, maybe 2024, 2025.

Utter crap no one wants one, and if they did not many can afford one, and has for miles, you will be lucky to get half of that then then you have to have at least 6apps to charge it,keep them, I will stick with my diesel......
