Pack rafting for a couple of years now. Just got an Alpacka Expedition set up for bike rafting. Super excited to add more variety to my backcountry adventures!
@@BackpackingTV haha, I hear you! Now I get to paddle a lot of rivers that I did not before because I can ride back to the car. Also doing some bike packing/ rafting trips this year. Whoohoo!
Just got into Backpacking but packrafting sounds great especially if you live around bodies of water. Looking forward to your adventure. Hopefully we get to see your Baja van life soon
Hello. Avid hiker transitioning to backpacking, here. I was considering purchasing a kayak but have since discovered packrafting and it has peaked my interest. I have a question if anyone cares to answer... I have recently gotten into fly fishing as well and was originally looking for a decent kayak to do just that out of as well as combine with my backpack to make some epic days out. My question is, would fishing out of one of these be out of the question? (Inflatable=chance of popping with the hook?) Or are they sturdy enough to handle something like that? I really like the idea of taking the whole boat with you, whereas a traditional kayak is large and cumbersome, limiting where you can go.
What model pack raft did you take on your Bob Marshall South Fork trip, did you start up Youngs creek or where Gordon creek comes in ? I’m leaning towards the Gnarwhal or would you recommend a different model?
How about differwnt sizes? I thought about buying one to use on the a hike where I will be walking between lakes in sweden. But I also have my 50kg Rhodesian Ridgeback with me.. and I think that version you have might be to small for both of us. Is there any larger and do you have any experience backdrafting with your dog?
Thank you, this video helped me a lot. Cheers from Australia 👍🏻
Love your content the production quality and information is always topnotch!! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that!

I think you'd love it! Packrafting is so much fun. And yes, the Baja video is coming... I've just been busier than expected since I came back.
Used one on the Colorado, hope to go down the Grand with it.

Why is the video in portrait format? All my monitors are in landscape format. Never ever do a youtube video in portrait mode!
Sorry Daniel! It’s because this was a live stream intended mostly for watching on mobile devices.
Get to the point, and why do you film in vertical?
