SAME! This is all my high school music (I say even as I have these exact songs on my current iPod) and every time he reacts to something from back then I'm just like "Child, you were deprived!" lol
I mean how old is Alex? Mid 20s tops? He still wouldve been a bit too young during the early-mid 00s to understand and listen to alternative kinds of music. Granted AFI were definitely becoming a bigger band by the time this record came out but if he was still in grade school it makes sense he had no idea this existed
@@stephensporman8206 That really depends on your environment, circle of friends, exposure to music, etc., growing up. I was in junior high when albums like TBP & 'DECEMBERUNDERGROUND' dropped, and I was surrounded by various scene kids who worshipped the likes of Gerard Way, Davey Havok, Corey Taylor, and more 😅
Absolutely one of their best. Up there with "A Single Second" for me. I love how with AFI they do have some more popular songs, but pretty much every fan has different favourites and there is no consensus of "this is there best song" like a lot of other bands. Such a damn good band.
@@amberhoward7807 if your talking about the side project with the band no doubt the band I think he is better off sticking with afi. But if you mean new afi then I agree afi can never fail they play very well off each other.
I saw them for the first time ever 3 years ago (after being a fan for 14 years) and I got to hold Davey up with my husband while he sang this song. Best first AFI concert ever.
Dude, you're listening to every single song I used to hear when I was 16-18. A bunch of great memories comes to my mind. Thanks for this, thanks for helping me to remember that I was REALLY happy back in those days. Thanks
True story: I know you reacted to miss murder already, but Davey havok from this video and miss murder made me want to do hair when I got older, and now I’ve been doing hair for about 8 years now. AFI has had a huge influence in my life, the whole sing the sorrow album is solid as hell. I guess I can leave you with the leaving song part 2 and silver and cold to round out the single category in it. Also, shout out to the dude who said HIM wings of the butterfly, kinda similar but the guitarist made me want to get a Gibson sg more than anything, now I own one
Watch AFI Miseria Cantare and The Leaving Song Pt. 2 live at Hard Rock Orlando. The intro to that show and transition into Leaving Song is amazing. Was the first concert I ever attended in 7th grade.
I feel like you’d get into Punk, pop-punk and emo as much as you’ve gotten into metal, any rock music really! It just keeps pulling you in further 😂❤️❤️🤘🏼
Dude you have to do like 20 reactions a day, can't get enough of them lol these are all my bands. Let's gooo. The Used Buried Myself Alive, Taste of ink. New Found Glory - My Friends Over you. My Chemical Romance - I'm Not OK
Sing The Sorrow is an epic album. There's an amazing hidden track at the end. It's called This Time Imperfect. There's also some great poetry, with music. Not to mention, all the other tracks are awesome. I very highly recommend, buying or downloading the album.
Some people may say that this era wasn’t really much for music, however AFI did have insane vocals and catchy melodies, I’m going down memory lane with you buddy👍🏻🔥
I'd really like to see Alex reacting to "This Celluloid Dream" or "Paper Airplanes Wings Makeshift", but these songs aren't as popular as the singles from this album :/
This celluloid dream has always been my favorite afi song. Not sure what it is about it, I just love it. I own all of their albums and have seen them live a few times and that’s always the song that gets me the most. After that is probably silver and cold. Also, probably another unpopular opinion, but sing the sorrow and DECEMBERUNDERGROUND are my go to albums for afi, I love all of their stuff but those are my preferred albums.
saw these guys on your with rise against and anti flag. One of the best live performances I've see. All the long emo looks are gone and these peoples looking hella clean. Afi's singer never stopped running around and jumping for like an hour. dudes got so much energy. So much fun
UA-cam recommended this to me because i'm a massive AFI fan and have been since my middleschool days. It's really enjoyable being able to watch you listen to them for the first time and appreciate them. Davey Havok has a voice like no other, and he has always had incredibly strong vocals. If you enjoy his voice, I recommend checking out his side projects. Blaqk Audio with the guitar player for AFI, Jade Puget. Also give Dreamcar a listen, that is a side project Davey did with No Doubt's boys of the band. If you're into Straight edge hardcore, he did another project with Jade Puget called XTRMST, and they all just channel out to different vocal ranges this man can do. He has a few other projects he's done as well, but as a whole, Davey, Jade, Hunter and Adam are incredibly talented and have reserved the spot as my favorite band always, and it makes me so happy to see you enjoying them.
Damm alex u listening to AFI is giving me memories of my teen years i had long since forgotten thank u😇 i haven't listen to AFI in years forgot how good they are..keep up the good work man
Your video reaction was amazing. You put into video what I was never able to capture: my reaction to AFI when I first saw this (my first intro to them) which made me fall in love with them 17 years ago and I'm still a huge fan of them. They are my most favorite band. The colors and the lyrics and how pretty Davey was and just everything in general. I loved your reaction. I'm glad you made this video and enjoyed this song. :)
I saw them play this before their encore touring behind this album at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago back in 2003. Breakdown during the bridge was magical. They had Bleeding Through and Hot Water Music opening. That show was a trip.
Can we take amount to appreciate just how long AFI have been around for, there first EP dropped 1993, like they have grown and changed SO much in that time it's insane
Lol! I still remember the day when I put the cd inside my walkman after I purchased it at Walmart. I was at the back seat of the car eating some doritos and drinking a dr pepper. I was a nice trip.
Dude... same. I wake up hella early, think, "well I'll be tired tonight, so I'll go to sleep early." and my stoopid ass STILL watches Netflix until like 1-2 in the A.M. This is a new one for me, and I'm glad we experienced this together. I knew like two AFI songs, and this weren't one of 'em. Awesome sound, crazy video, all around good time. WHOA?! That Spongebob F-bomb! Simon, if you're reading this, I believe in you, guy. Kick nic(otines) ASS!
Okay, I LOVE that you reacted to this song. Sing The Sorrow remains one of my favourite albums and this is probably my favourite single from it (though all the singles are incredible). I know you tend to only react to the songs that have music videos, but I would honestly recommend This Time Imperfect, because that song remains one of my top five favourite songs of all time. Not just AFI songs, but ALL songs. It’s beautiful.
My favorite band. I’ve listened to them in their punk days and still to this day. They were my very first concert in 2003 at age 13. Two of my favorites you should react to are “Days of the Phoenix” and “God called in sick today.” Amazing band.
You digging My Chemical Romance and AFI makes me feel like you really missed out on the early to mid 2000s my dude
SAME! This is all my high school music (I say even as I have these exact songs on my current iPod) and every time he reacts to something from back then I'm just like "Child, you were deprived!" lol
Better late than never, haha.
Yea the last days of talented artists. Sad top 40 taking over the radio

"Silver and Cold." It'll hit you like a Mack truck.
More like a Duece and a half

Dangggg😭😂
Yes! I was thinking to myself about what he should do next and silver and cold is the answer.
AFI - The Leaving Song Part 2.
Definitely this one
Definitely. Fucking do it!
Brooooo...he's gotta
yaaaaaas pleaseeeeee
endlessly she said??
You should check out "silver and cold" by AFI it's a really good song by them
Yessss!!
It’s their best song in my opinion.
Yes please!
The whole album, Sing the Sorrow is awesome! Not really a bad song on it.
YES!
Davey Havoc is the voice of a generation, and I mean that as a compliment.
well...that comment in and of itself is an actual compliment...
@@IamRaloPib fair point. For some reason when I wrote it I thought it might be misconstrued as some kind of back-handed comment.
Have you heard his new stuff? Love it so much!
On a lot of songs he sounded like the second coming of Glen Danzig
@@amberhoward7807 if your talking about the side project with the band no doubt the band I think he is better off sticking with afi. But if you mean new afi then I agree afi can never fail they play very well off each other.
You’d enjoy AFI’s “Love Like Winter” music video - it’s a work of art!
Oh yeah man. it's beautiful! And hype, and headbang!
The Leaving Song Pt. 2 next please. That’s the best song on this album.
Wrong
I second this.
Gotta be the live version though. :)
Zack Clark that’s cool. You can disagree. That’s the beauty of music. What song would you say is the best?
I hardly disagree with that statement ("...But Home is Nowhere" is the best track of STS, imo).
But yeah, he definitely should react to that 🌚
'Silver and Cold' and 'Beautiful Thieves' for sure man, you gotta.
Just got my "Beautiful Thieves" Necklace in the mail. Super excited to finally have AFI jewelry.
If you’re gonna check out more AFI check out silver and cold and the leaving song part 2
Love like winter, summer shudder, the interview
Totalimmortal And Days if the Phoenix
17 Crimes and ASDC from Burials!
Literally the whole "Sing the Sorrow" album
Especially the secret track at the end "this time imperfect".
Beautifully composed album
Joe i remember i went to an AFI concert and they did this song and I openly weeped, it was magical
best album of all time in my opinion
death of seasons 🥰
AFI - The Leaving Song pt II!!!
Love Like Winter. You have to react to it bud. Such a wonderful and powerful song.
Such a fun song that was technically meant for Blaqk Audio which accidentally helped me discover Blaqk Audio and gave me another great band to love.
AFI is an amazing band that is ever evolving. Sing the Sorrow was a lighting strike of an album. So incredibly special
HIM - Wings of a Butterfly
Agreed 100%
Or Buried Alive By Love!
*bam margera busts in* DID SOMEBODY SAY HIM!?
YES!
oh my GOD HIM!!!!
AFI is such a dope band. These reactions have been so nostalgic for me. I'm going to download me some.
“I Hope You Suffer” by AFI!!!!!
Yeah but if he does it's gotta be the Jimmy Havoc tribute video cuz it'd be awesome to watch Alex flip out at death match wrestling 😂
That whole album is underrated!!!
I saw them for the first time ever 3 years ago (after being a fan for 14 years) and I got to hold Davey up with my husband while he sang this song. Best first AFI concert ever.
AFI. The Leaving Song pt 2 next.
Another great AFI song and video is “Silver and Cold”! Amazing song and an emotionally memorable video
Keep going with AFI!! The farther back you go the better it gets!!
The art of drowning and black sails were my favorite albums by them. Never could get into their later work
Exactly, gotta go way back! When they were still hungry and not making radio songs!
Everything they do is great! I feel blessed to be introduced to them right in the middle, so I'm not really biased. I love everything they've made.
Dude, you're listening to every single song I used to hear when I was 16-18. A bunch of great memories comes to my mind. Thanks for this, thanks for helping me to remember that I was REALLY happy back in those days. Thanks
You should do " Days of the Phoenix " by them
Favorite AFI song hands down
What a song
Hell yes!!!! I cannot help but go nuts when that song comes on. It's just so fun!!!
First time I heard AFI was “The boy who destroyed the world” in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtrack, Alex should totally check that song out!
^this^
YES
Same! One of their best!
Oh shit yeah same. So many good songs in that game
exactly! or total immortal from older real punky sound

A must see live band. Life changing no matter what age.
Alex “Yo change ups!”
Me “Welcome to AFI bud”
Silver and Cold, The Days of the Phoenix, Bleed Black, Third Season, He Who Laughs Last. SO MUCH FIRE FROM AFI!!!!!
AFI was one of my favorite bands in highschool! They have a bunch of great songs, check out Death of Seasons. My ultimate favorite song by them!🖤
If your gonna keep on the emo anthem kick. Gotta listen to "the bird and the worm" by the used
i totally agree with you dude.
and maybe some stuff from saosin don't you think?
Grew up listening to afi since their punk days! Love them!
Watch AFI Miseria Cantare and The Leaving Song Pt. 2 live at Hard Rock Orlando. The intro to that show and transition into Leaving Song is amazing. Was the first concert I ever attended in 7th grade.
Btw, it is a pro production video through MTV back when they had the live concert series from Hard Rock in early 2000s.
I feel like you’d get into Punk, pop-punk and emo as much as you’ve gotten into metal, any rock music really! It just keeps pulling you in further 😂❤️❤️🤘🏼

This is a hella Great song. Listen to it at least 20 times a day
Aw dude! Yes!
Avenged Sevenfold - Save Me
AFI- Leaving Song Pt 2
They won an MTV music video award for this one back in 2003 - did a live show with MTV around that time too - it was awesome!
AFI - Totalimmortal
Truth I talked about it on my comment😂💯
That's the era of AFI everyone should be checking out first.
If you're really digging AFI, "Dancing Through Sunday", "Medicate", "Love Like Winter", and "Beautiful Thieves" are all excellent songs to check out.
As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left. Then a follow up reaction of As I Lay Dying: The Sound of Truth. The videos go together and are amazing!
You need to react to Not Falling by Mudvayne and Remedy by Seether.
Definitely needs to check out Not Falling by Mudvayne!!!
He would love those songs
Hi Arik
all of seether, all of mudvayne, all of afi, all of nin :)
Hello.
AFI God Called in sick Today

Goth suggestion: The Birthday Massacre. "In The Dark," "Blue," or "Superstition."
Badass Canadian fusion rock - gotta love 'em!
Oh man, I'm definitely going on an AFI binge now.
same!
Never knew Havok had such luscious long hair. I've only ever seen him with short hair lol.

Best album.
My first was The Art of Drowning - God Called in Sick Today
The Days of the Phoenix one of the best off art of drowning
Black Sails in the Sunset, easily.
God Called in Sick Today is on Black Sails in the Sunset, not The Art of Drowning
Art of Drowning and All Hallows was peak AFI easily
Matthew Ellis oh shit... you’re right. I feel dumb lol

My favourite UA-camr reacting to my favourite AFI song. I hope you're having a dope-ass day, Alex! Thanks for this video, always entertaining.
I'm loving these AFI reactions so much!!! Please keep it up!
Love the vids man
You're last AFI reaction really had me listening to this song last week all over again
Lol! I still remember the day when I put the cd inside my walkman after I purchased it at Walmart. I was at the back seat of the car eating some doritos and drinking a dr pepper. I was a nice trip.

The Pretty Reckless! Either "Death by Rock and Roll" or "Heaven Knows"
He'd like the Pretty Reckless 💯✔
First song from them I ever listened to and I found it while I was listening to rock band vids. Opened the gates for me to punk heaven.

Keep the 00s emo reactions up!! It’s been bringing back so many good memories
Their video for Silver And Cold was shot in the city I live in right now, Prague in Czech Republic! And the song is amazing.
Will always have a place in my heart for AFI and Davey Havoc. Brings back middle school memories
So glad your diving into these classics.
Love seeing you react to these guys! AFI is one of my fav bands and sing the sorrow is one of the best albums ever
Nothing can fully prepare you for the epicness of One-eyed Doll - Committed Directors cut
"Silver And Cold" such an amazing video!
I still have all my AFI. CD since they were popular in the 90. My teens loved them. They were imaginative, wake up.
My favorite band. I’ve listened to them in their punk days and still to this day. They were my very first concert in 2003 at age 13. Two of my favorites you should react to are “Days of the Phoenix” and “God called in sick today.” Amazing band.
