I feel like you're selling Michael just a little short, I feel there's a lot of intrigue over his vendetta against his father, and from everything that happens in FNaF 4, SL, FNaF 3, and especially the role he helped play in Pizza Sim plays a pretty big part in the story. Imo there's a lot of point to his character, especially when you look at him as the overly sarcastic yet guilt ridden vengeance driven older brother from FNaF 4 that is now out for his father's blood that all the known material likes to paint him as

The 30 year time gap is one of the weirdest choices I've ever seen. We either have to believe that everyone involved in the story is immortal/don't age or there's just a couple of geriatric characters pushing plot (namely Michael and Henry). Can we really believe either of those characters just lived their lives for 30 years and did nothing???
I actually agree with this and think it’s weird as hell there’s just this huge time gap where nothing happened. As interesting as the lore and story can be, there really are blind spots where it’s obvious Scott isn’t the best at planning out an overarching narrative.
I think that although fnaf 1 & 2 mentioned odor to confirm Michael is the protagonist, he isn't a corpse in those to games yet. I believe that Michael probably figured out William was behind the 2 MCI after he got captured by the cops for questioning after the 5th night of fnaf 2. And he probably sneaked into the pizzeria on the 2nd night to find evidence of his father's murders and instead ended up learning that the suits are haunted. Fnaf 1 probably took place in the late 90s to early 2000's and he went there for the sole purpose of finding the truth but ultimately failed. William realising this, sent him to investigate the sister location in hopes of potentially killing him and while he(M) went to SL, William went to the fnaf 1 location to dismantle the animatronics to collect remnant and died in the process. Meanwhile Michael figured everything out and got scooped and piloted by ennerd for probably a few years. After being free from ennerds possession, he sets up to find William and spends the 30 years trying to find him until Fazbear frights open up. Afterwards he goes their and sets the place in fire to try and kill him but fails and starts looking for him again until Henry opens the new pizzeria a few years after. I think Fnaf 6 takes place in the 2040s only a few years after fnaf 3. And then Michael gathers everyone in one place and Henry burns everything to set everyone including himself and Michael free.
I mean yeah?? Springtrap was trapped in the saferoom for 30 years and nobody knew he was there. We don't know what year FNAF SL takes place, it could've taken place just before FNAF 3 or even before FNAF 2. Ennard and Baby don't have a GPS so Henry couldn't really track them down. Henry also probably couldn't be a nightguard in FNAF 3 and FNAF 6 because he would be too old so he needed someone that's fit and appropriate which was Michael.
@@lartts7483 I actually found out recently that FNAF 3 was supposed to be the final game. That makes a lot more sense to me. Scott wasn't planning on continuing the story, so a time skip wasn't that important.
But unfortunately, he did continue, so it makes zero sense for FNAF 3 to happen so far into the future. Henry and maybe even Michael probably didn't even exist when FNAF 3 was made.
At this point, I've decided to just ignore that FNAF 3 happened in the future. Because with the current story, it just doesn't really fit.

To me, I've always thought FNAF 4 was 13 year old micheal going up against 12 foot animatronics. Because his Father was getting revenge for Micheal killing Evan. Not to kill him though. To test out his illusion discs and prove if they are useful to use in the funtime animatronics. What he didn't anticipate was Micheal getting killed by the funtimes. At least, I hope so.

Depending on who you ask and how much credit you’re willing to give that asshole, it is entirely possible that William anticipated Michael getting killed by the Funtimes.

Actually, dead bodies do turn purple, about 2-3 days after death the body turns green and flies and other bugs show up and start munching on the corpse, then as the 3rd day goes on the body turns from green to purple and eventually to black, then from that point onwards the enzymes in the digestive system begin to slowly eat the corpse from the inside, a process known as “autolysis” which means “self digestion”

The way Micheal "kind of accidentally" killed his brother genuinely has me wanting to cry right now. They didn't even have the decency to name to name him. and it hurts even more knowing I can't hate Micheal directly for what happened. He was a child. And more than that he, like all the animatronics, was a product of William Afton. I can't fault him for being what his father molded him into. This whole family's story is so heartbreaking
As much as I'm aware, the reason Michael did not pass, was because of "remnet" this liquid that's Canon in the fanf books, that anything it pours over, it can attract spirts to it. (William apparently used it a few times, because he's a pysocpath) But, theory says Michael got some on himself. Either buy stepping in some, or maybe a splash of it, was on the scooper, and it got on his person.
So... when he "died" his soul left his body, but then got pulled right back, because of the remnet that was on him. So, he possessed his own body, and that's why he's decaying. He's basically fnaf's version of a Zombie. He's dead, but not. He's undead.
The story is kinda confusing, obviously, and it's never straight forward. I just came up with my own version. And that's where Michael was a an idiot brother, who killed his younger siblings, it changed him, but when he went on (after he got turned into a zombie) He figured out what his dad has been up to, and that's why he went "job" hunting. To track down his father.
His father is a co founder of fazebear anyways. His said a few times in the series at least. It's probably why Michael and his brother was even at the restaurant in the first place. They probably had a free pass because thier dad works for the company.

In fnaf 2 and 1, you get fired for two things-
"Tampering with Animatronics"
And "Bad order"
Tampering with robots: Michael would obviously try to tamper with them. If the game works realistically like how it states, the souls stop the crazy crap at 6am, Michael would obviously try to find clues, about his dad's whereabouts.
"Bad order" dead corpses tend to not smell to good. It makes me wonder how Michael even got the job in the frist place if he smelled like shit. But, hey, this is Fazebear entertainment. After the 90s, they just didn't give a damn after safety anymore.
Oh, and the reasons why it's different names on the night guards- Michael just didn't want to use his real name. Most likely he was trying to hide "Afton". Because I can see you working in any place, where you have the name of one of the founders, they're going to ask you a lot of questions. Especially if it's been years, when William Afton is a known suspect that has yet to be proven guilty.
I think the crying child doesn't have a name out of compromise with Mrs Afton who came from a long line of non-name havers

I don't like the idea of mikes sister dying before his brother would seem weird for William to build the funtimes without a reason to beforehand. Also glossed over the fact Michael had the nightmares before fnaf 3 as he speaks to the spirits when he starts having those nightmares as seen in the log book which is why they don't attack him in fnaf 3 just his father. Also, Michael is in fnaf 2 custom night definitely not only because it would be weird if he just wasn't in one of the games but because he has the stinky and gets fired his first night.
William's reason to create the funtime simply was killing children thats why he never allowed Elizabeth close to baby
Man dude I agree, I miss when the night guards were just random people and they didn't try to shove Michael into every game.
But then again, random people don’t just stay there for 5 nights to get paid $4 an hour unless they had ulterior motives. Like Michael could ‘be been a reoccurring protagonist but he doesn’t have to be the protagonist to every game, like I agree that Jeremy is a separate character from Michael, The FNAF 3 guard could also be argued upon to be Henry but the point of Michael was probably to give us atleast a true protagonist to the series like how Charlie was for the books, he’s supposed to be the reoccurring protagonist. Now I get that people would prefer it to be random people and I do like that choice but It was also a good choice to have someone reoccurring who seemingly is doing something about the main issue where as random people, like the every day, run of the mill Joe would just quit and not talk about it ever again unless shared upon 4chan forums.

Also how could it be argued that Henry was the FNAF 3 protagonist? What evidence is there to support that claim?
@@peronafanman Well that’s for you to find out, I certainly know that it’s a theory out there. As for the mortgage thing, the financial or just in it for the thrill, that is also viable but not every person is insane enough to stay several nights in a restaurant full of killer robots. As much as money or the thrill would be as much of a good answer, only one person would’ve probably done it for the cash or for the thrill. That’s why I think Scott created Michael as a way to connect the story more and give some characters an actual hard driving motive to stay aside from “needing money” or for “the thrill” because at that point, it would’ve been repetitive; and yes, it did kind of got convolute things because of the inclusion of Michael. Like Michael could’ve had something less convoluted and more prevalent, more better than what we have now if he was introduced earlier on and was executed properly, like I loved the concept of the bastard son seeking redemption by cleaning up his father’s mess, my gripe was how it was executed. Like if I did it, I would’ve introduced him way earlier and had fans connect the dots when FNAF lore was still in it’s infancy (like around FNAF 3 or 4), you didn’t have to have sister location and this whole cutscene to reveal it and mess up the entire timeline, you didn’t have to have remnant to explain why he’s alive. Like it would’ve been fine if he was just a normal human being. That’s how I feel about it.
@@Limitedprodigy002 I don't really think it's a good idea to say that Henry could've been the FNAF 3 night guard and then not expand on that theory.
The fact that jobs like Fishing and Hunting still exist and people still work these jobs despite the fact that they have a 132.1 fatality rate per 100,000 workers should be a sign that people will do jobs even if it means having a chance at being killed.
Ok, who is that person who would do it for the cash/thrill?
I mean we only had about 3 night guards who were doing it for the cash/thrill, everyone after that was Afton family member. And if we are going by the theory that Michael is the night guard for every game then isn't it even more repetitive to see him take up the same job for 5 games with the same motive of stopping his dad?

@@peronafanman personally If I had the idea to make a story for FNAF, I would’ve;
1) established Michael Afton from The Getgo, he doesn’t have to be every guard, In fact you could just settle with him being Mike Schmidt and The FNAF 3 guard and that’s about it. In other words; would’ve had him be the reoccurring protagonist, making people question why Mike Schmidt is there. Also there would be occasional flashes similar to FNAF 1’s “It’s me” on FNAF 3’s night 6 but instead of it’s me. It’s words of lunacy like “burn it down”, “Save Them”, “Save him”, “Save her”, “Kill him” and lastly “Father.” I would’ve mad that one appear just before you hit 6am. This would be a clear yet vague hint on who Michael is but fans could connect the dots, it would also give the feeling that Michael is having a psychotic break. Like as if those bits of messages from FNAF 1 were indicating that Michael was having an anxiety attack or was triggered by being at Freddy’s. This would also indicate that Michael finally snapped at Night 6, burning down the attraction with William inside and presumably dying with him as a form of suicide. In this version, I wouldn’t have made him this pure hero; I would’ve made him a man who was broken, haunted by his trauma and eventually someone who wasn’t able to take it anymore. It would’ve been a tragedy with a bittersweet ending. This would also further fans to theorize “what could this mean?”. Which brings to my second decision.
2) FNAF 4 would essentially reveal the backstory through the perspective of his brother, Crying Child. So essentially everything would be the same but only a couple massive details, you can unlock the chest (but it’s insanely difficult, kinda like having to kind of do scavenger hunt while under 20/20/20/20 mode kind of difficult.) and Once you open it, you get a bloody foxy mask, a newspaper detailing the events of the bite of 83 (ranging from the child’s death to the older brother being arrested for fratricide and accidental manslaughter). You’d think that would be all but there would be one more thing in that chest; a paycheck, the same exact one you got in the first game; Mike Schmidt’s paycheck. Then after that, it would cut to black and you would get Michael’s monologue but it would completely different due to sister location not existing (like he would mention Freddy’s instead, he would still mention that the animatronics thought he was his father and would attempt to kill him etc)
This realization would take a minute but it would eventually click for fans when they realize that Mike was referring the killer, the same person that the animatronics were after as his “father”. It would start spewing theories and so on. Then of course, the father’s name would eventually be revealed to be William Afton as the books would still come out.
3) the story would’ve just ended with 3, that would’ve been the last game in the timeline; 5 and 6 would’ve been prequels detailing other employees and how the restaurant’s tragedies affected them and the town as whole, like I would’ve loved a game following the first guy to see the animatronics move and so on. FNAF 2 along with 5 and 6, I would’ve called anthology games, since they would be focusing on other parts of the story, the aftermath to the missing kids incident essentially, stuff that aren’t about Mike Schmidt and William Afton. 3 games for the extended universe, 3 games that would focus on Mike and William.
I have more ideas but I don’t feel like listing them all down.
I like to think Michael as a super nice guy who loved his brother but he was too incompetent to notice that he was scared of him

I actually disagree about your opinion about Micheal.
First personal opinion. I like having a main protag in a series so Mike being that is good for me.
Second I think the story presented to us with 1 to 6 is interesting. While Mike is mostly a silent protag I see his evolution and character growth with the series of events he took and experienced. I can understand why he does what he does and it simply makes the og 3 more understandable as well with now we actually know why he is staying 5 nights a little bit (except 2). Was he always planed of course not but He is imo the best part about pretty much the rebooted story after Fnaf 3(Or Fnaf 4).
And Security Breach... Like his father he should've been gone.... While I prefer again a main protag. I don't prefer a protag who is there for no reason. So in someways I hope he is not Glamrock Freddy.
It would of cool if he was Glamrock Fred, but only if they executed it right. If he is, he should of had small little moments, where he said stuff about a time in his past. Not too obvious things, but subtle stuff.
They kinda fked up when I heard Gregory said "what about the missing people" I'm sorry, where was this established?
I mean, we already know Freddy's is always filled with missing people, but when did Gregory know this? How was he ever aware of this? Glamrock Freddy didn't bring that up, hell, not even Vanny gave any signs (to Gregory at least) that she did things like that. If Gregory knew all of this, same with Freddy (who agreed with him) Freddy would of tried his hardest to get Greg out before something would of happened to him.
I'm sorry, but Security Breach needs a damn rewrite.
Freddy would of worked so well with Michael. It could of been so clean, with him wanting to keep Gregory safe, because he probably would of seen his as his little brother that he lost years ago.

While FNAF lore became crumpled mess after Sister Location, it at least got a satisfying conclusion with Pizzeria Simulator and UCN. Trying to connect back to old lore in any sort of way makes the ending those games had feel meaningless.

Im just gonna put this here in hopes someone sees and agrees with me:
Michael afton. Brother of Evan Afton, has a so-so childhood. he ends up bullying his younger brother because of his strange fear of the animatronics. to the point of causing his brothers death. He is guilt ridden beyond comprehension. He visits his brother in the hospital and says he's sorry. right before his brother dies.
Fast-forward a few years. Michael is old enough to get a job. due to his father being the literal owner, he uses an alias "Fritz smith" he spends the last 2 nights before this "new and improved" location closes. supposedly "tampering" with the animatronics, and looking for his father. There was a guard before him, named Jeremy.
Now, i'm not sure when sister location happened. I assume it happened some time before Fnaf 2 since Michael had the "foul oder" on his pink slip in fnaf 2.
Anyway, Michael was sent by his father to "fix his sister" We're really unsure if michael had any other plan other than just doing what his sister says in order to free her. but he does. He spends 5 nights in that place trying to figure out how to fix her. He is led by her to the scooper, where baby, and everyone else, escapes through michael's body.
You'd think that's where his story would've ended. but it didn't, Due to remnant beign a main part of the scooper. He wouldnt die. Baby knew this. She told him. So after they got out of his rotting corpse. He got back up. and continued on his journey to fix his fathers sins.
Like I said. we truly have no clue other than we know sister location happens before fnaf 3, and after 1983.
The foul oder kinda makes me believe that Michael went to sister location before fnaf 2, but that literally it.
It doesnt mess with the story too much anyway, but having michael go from listening to his father obediently before sister location, to then trying to fix what his father has done after seeing what he did by going to the other locations. It fits for me.
Anyways. now time for the juicy part.
Fnaf 1. 1993
Michael finds the last remaining Freddy Fazbears, He knows his father will show up here, eventually. He Uses an alias "Mike Schmidt."
Night 1, he gets a phone call. It's normal enough, considering he's heard the legal mumbo jumbo before. but then the man starts talking about "The bite of 87" and, oh boy, that caused michael to go in a downward spiral. Cause there was another bite. The one that he caused. So that morning, when mike went home. He had a NIGHTMARE.
What I believe is this, upon going into that freddy fazbears. His brother sensed him. when mike went home, Cassidy and Evan followed. It's literally in the fnaf 4 trailer. "What have you brought Home."
And yes, I do believe in gold duo, Its not really necassary, so if you dont believe it then go ahead, But I truly believe that's why there are two fredbear entities. Normal Fredbear, and Nightmare. Cassidy is the normal one, Nightmare is his brother.
So this is how it goes down: Mike goes home, Cassidy and Evan "latch" on him in a way, They cant leave the building, but perhaps the logbook allows them to follow, or it really just doesnt matter, they're ghosts and what they can and can't do is incomprehendable. Anyway, He has a nightmare, It's similar to where he is during the night, with bonnie on the left, chica on the right, foxy always needing to be checked on, along with freddy. And during this, he is remembering all the guilt of his sins.
Evan causes mike to see the last 5 days of his life through his eyes. The minigames. This is what really breaks Mike.
After a few nights of back and forth between working the night at freddys', to being in a nightmare during the day, It becomes night 5. Cassidy and Evan start showing themselves, Mike gets hallucinations of "It's me." and they even showed themselves fully, as golden freddy. That morning, during the nightmare, Fredbear shows up.
The nightmare is completed and we are then shown the memory of His death, at this point Mike is riddled with grief. He is sorry.
Then, the final memory, after one more nightmare, It shows Evan right before he died, hearing his brother apologize.
Mike finished up at fnaf 1. His father never showed up, and he was fired for tampering with the animatronics. He goes back to the shadows, having one last nightmare where Evan himself confronts Mike. then it's done.
Now, we all know what happens. After that freddys' closes due to there being no business. I mean- cmon- look at how un-kept it was when it was still open, Anyways, William finally shows up, we're not entirely sure why, but maybe he was just getting paranoid to the point where he decided to get rid of them, either way, it was a stupid decision.
(No. I do NOT believe william went there to "collect remnent" or any other bs like that. I'm trying to keep the story as close to the original as possible, the one Scott was trying to tell us for years. besides, sister location should've already happened. it wouldnt make sense for mike to be at these locations since he's looking for his father, if he wasnt looking for his father wtf is mike even doing there. enjoying the sights?)
anyway, we all know the story, William is chased into the springlock suit, he dies. The spirits go into a state of limbo.
*Fnaf World.*
30 years later, fazbear frights opens up. Mike sees this and knows he needs to finish this.
He takes the job, the first night happens and there is nothing. they haven't found any animatronics to use.
Then the next night. They found Him. He always comes back. and William realizes. That's not just any guard.
That' his bastardized son that caused his youngest to die. William is full of Rage. He should've died back when he sent Mike to that godforsaken location underground.
Now, I'm not sure if anyone has ready the fazbear frights book. I haven't. but I do know of one, that is my favorite. Its the one about the literal Fazbear Frights. where someone that wasnt mike took the job, and was hallucinating about the trauma in his past.
Nobody understood this at first. everyone thought the phantoms are the spirits. but they aren't. The phantoms are just that- Phantoms. Caused by william.
It's funny cause in the book, the hallucinations are of this guy's father bullying him. and some other trauma fomn the past. Michael doesnt need to hallucinate that. he KNOWS that's his father. And the trauma in his past is of this franchise. so ofc they take form of the animatronics from fnaf 1 and 2. since those are the ones Michael confronted.
Anyways. Mike spends 5 nights. Now this concept is a little hard, but think about it like this, Those secret codes that you have to do to access the minigames? that obviously doesnt happen in real life. but it's supposed to represent how Michael puts everything in place for the happiest day to happen. He's not literally clicking the tiles on the wall to then activate an arcade game. He's doing something, else. We're not sure. maybe we're not supposed to understand. we ARE talking about the concept of sending a spirit to the afterlife. so there is no real world way of showing it.
Just know that Michael is putting the pieces together for Evan. So is Cassidy. she is at work in fnaf world to try and get the minigames together for his happiest day.
About happiest day, Its obviously about Evan. Its literally the Fredbear diner reversed. tables are in the exact same spot, and where Evans's spirit is, is where he was bitten. Cassidy never got a happiest day.
So on night 5, after getting the Happiest day ready for his brother, Mike burns it to the ground.
Now, in the original timeline. that would've been the end. and everything with sister location didn't exist. Michael was still the guard for fnaf 1-3, but he was never undead. and the sister was never relevant. Which I think I would've liked. that was what fnaf 4 was supposed to be. The story of the Night guard. Then that would've been the true end.
But that's not what happened. We didn't understand. So Scott had to change the story by introducing sister location.
Anyways. It's been who knows how long after fnaf 3. Michael find yet ANOTHER Freddy Fazbears. It is an obvious trick. Michael is promoted ot "manager" the instant he applies. and there are many secrets behind it. but he continues. Henry created a plan, but michael wasn't originally part of it.
We all know fnaf 6, but not many people really understand that henry hadnt expected michael to be the one to take the job. Let me explain.
In fnaf 6, at the end of the true ending, henry says that "My brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you." When I first heard that I was confused as hell. cause I thought that meant Michael WASNT the player in fnaf 6, but it's the opposite. Henrys plan was to have a random person be the volunteer. that's why a way out was planned. But upon realizing that Micheal, the son of the person who started all of this. a broken man that is now undead. and trying to stop his father yet again. Was the volunteer. Henry knew Michael would be better off dying with the rest of them, along with henry.
Something funny I like to think is that, in every timeline where it isnt the true ending, we are the random person henry meant to hire.
Ok. I think that's it. This is the fnaf story I care about. mostly 1-4, but the rest isnt a bad story either.

1st game is more alive when you can make the protag whoever you like with whatever motives. You get stuffed inside a suit at some point and having protag like Michael makes these deaths non-canon. With random people it keeps piling up casualties as the nightguard dies for real for each failed night.
The pizzeria is built to sacrifice night guards to the horrors and is authorized to do so apparently. It's somehow above humanity and its morals. Like an eldricht horror.
I don't agree with Mike being just like a normal guy... Sure normal human bodies don't turn purple and they're decaying but who knows what happens to Remnant stuffed skin suits? Also I think it's way funnier if hes a zombie and no one acknowledges it

The thing that annoys me about michale afton being the night gaurd in fnaf 1 lis that it litterly makes no sense.
How could he be a teenager in 1983 but suddenly be in his 30's by the time fnaf 1 happens only a decade later while ALSO being a rotting corpse that somehow got hired for a kids restaurant, it would've been easier and way more realistic to just stick with Mike Schmidt being a random guy and not retroactively making michale afton the main character of the whole series for the sake of making it seem like the lore wasn't made up as it went along.
He.... isn't in his 30s by fnaf 1 and I don't think that's ever implied? I do agree that the walking corpse thing is a really weird plot point from sisters location that makes it hard to fit in the timeline but sisters location In its entirety is hard to put on the timeline.

I have to agree. Especially since he seems to be a key role in EVERY single game (which completely takes away any chance of any other character growing and making it feel more like Freddy’s only affects anyone with the last name “Afton” and “Emily”.)
