@@averagetimeyt happened on land in the 12th century. there was no sea warfare at the time and the french won over the english. i'm not saying the brits cause the french were allied with scotland, wales and ireland.
@@titi710 I mean there was sea warfare at the time of the outbreak of the 100 years war. It's how Edward the 3rd was able to defeat a superior naval force to establish a landing in France with English/Welsh troops.
@@titi710 14th-15th Century.. from 1337 to 1453. And there were most definitely naval warfare... quite a lot actually.. in fact the first major battle of the 100 years war was the Naval battle at Sluys in 1340. Then there were other major battles at sea throughout the conflict. As for alliances, whilst you are generally correct, the Welsh position is a tad complicated. Whilst it is true that at one point the Welsh were allied with France between 1400 and 1415, it is generally considered to have been the result of a large and widespread rebellion under the self declared prince of wales, Owain Glyndwr and at most other times during the conflict the Welsh were under the command of the English, generally as the best archers in Europe and the saviours of the Battle of Azincourt in 1415.
Lol you have to remember that back then the idea of national identity didn't really exist... in fact it was the 100 years war that sparked the slow movement towards the idea of people being "English" and "French". The reality is that the Hundred years War was essentially a conflict fought by two French families, One being Angevin (the "English") and the House of Valois (the "French"). Both were descended from the same family hence the reason for the War in the first place. Hell, the English nobility still spoke French and their coat of arms had Fleur de Lys... Why do you think the English royals owned basically half of what is now France in the first place. They only lost that towards the end of the conflict.

@@enollorca8107 Are you one of those Americans that think all ‘white people’ are just the same group of people? You realise different groups, clans, tribes, kingdoms, ethnicities, races live in Europe, right?
@SS S France is the only country in the world to take all over Europe, from Sevilla to Moscow and still being treated as cowards. France’s history is ruled by war because it’s geographic position between Spain, Italy, Germany, UK... makes this country in threat at every side. If you look at a map of Europe, look where is France and you will understand why France is the most victorious country in the world. Without counting that France owns the nuclear weapon, it is the only European Power to have developed itself without Germans scientists or with the help of USA and USSR. France also is one of the oldest country of the world and Europe, created in 492 after JC. France created many countries in the world, Canada, USA, England, Germany, Italy, Algeria… If France won the Seven Years War, the world would be speaking French. But especially the natives population would be in a better place since France was the only “cool” European Power with them. France is the country where a famous scientific community reunited in Saint-Dié des Vosges in the exploration of the New World, in that community a scientific proposed to gives a name at this new world and the name was “America”. France still owns territories over all of the world, from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Oceania… And of course, talking about France I must say something about the language. When you know that most of English words are from French because of 1066, when you know that in England the motto is “Honi soit mal y pense” or “Dieu et mon droit”, in Québec it is “Je me souviens”, in the Netherlands it is “Je maintiendrai”, in Sweden they were French Kings, in USA it is Lafayette, Rochambeau or even Pierre Charles l’Enfant who basically created the city of Washington… In Portugal there’s a famous sentence who said: “France, is the center/heart of the world.” Yes, France was destroyed after Germany’s attacks in 1940, but remember. It is easy to say “French surrender” but who does the most of impact in WW1 ? France. Who surrenders ? Russia. France have a border with Germany, USSR too. But compare the size of France and USSR, it is easy to say “French surrender” from USA and England when you have a sea and a entire ocean with Germany. France don’t, and so stop making fun of this at least the French permitted to the UK to continues the war (Dunkirk). France is a badass nation, not a “surrender” or a weak one.

Or the Germans 😂
I definitely hate the French more, but if the French offered a truce to stick it to the Spanish, I'd readily accept.
Now we know why the French and English fought at sea so much.
The French mistook the English ships for Spanish ships.
100 years wars?
They only lost that towards the end of the conflict.

indeed
@SS S actually france have won more battles than any other country in the world
@SS S France is the only country in the world to take all over Europe, from Sevilla to Moscow and still being treated as cowards.
France created many countries in the world, Canada, USA, England, Germany, Italy, Algeria…
If France won the Seven Years War, the world would be speaking French. But especially the natives population would be in a better place since France was the only “cool” European Power with them.
France is the country where a famous scientific community reunited in Saint-Dié des Vosges in the exploration of the New World, in that community a scientific proposed to gives a name at this new world and the name was “America”.
France still owns territories over all of the world, from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Oceania…
And of course, talking about France I must say something about the language.
When you know that most of English words are from French because of 1066, when you know that in England the motto is “Honi soit mal y pense” or “Dieu et mon droit”, in Québec it is “Je me souviens”, in the Netherlands it is “Je maintiendrai”, in Sweden they were French Kings, in USA it is Lafayette, Rochambeau or even Pierre Charles l’Enfant who basically created the city of Washington…
In Portugal there’s a famous sentence who said: “France, is the center/heart of the world.”
Yes, France was destroyed after Germany’s attacks in 1940, but remember.
