Man your strong , I did one of these on the floor a couple of years ago , van was as high as poss , had subframe off , but that box was so heavy coming out , i decided to use my engine lift, put a strap around the box ,and lifted it back in , people think our job is so easy and we work for 25 quid a day in the rain giving 3 months credit after doing the job 👍

Two weeks ago I did a vr6 clutch single mass g60 flywheel conversion on my ALH tdi . 236k on original clutch and it was smoked 😅
I watched your video of the PD golf clutch instal( Great video BTW 👍). And leading up to me getting in there I wasn't sure how I was going to get the transmission in. I wound up doing it just like you did. Let it down on my chest and lifted it up in there. First time I couldn't line it up and it wound up rolling off my chest and wedging me between the car with wasn't fun but I dusted myself off and went back under. She went right in 🦾
If I didn't watch your video I wouldn't have tried it that way. Inspirational. Thanks ✌️

I successfully carried out my own VW caddy clutch and flywheel replacement after watching a job specific repair tutorial by Mr. Williams on his UA-cam channel being a specific make/model and by god it was not easy working on the floor despite jacking up the van as high as I could using the same technique as this man, I can see why now this is a younger man's game and to those who wish to attempt the same what ever vehicle it it, please note the following from my own personal experience and please bear in mind this is not a repair for the faint hearted as I now know: 1. You need to be strong and reasonably fit and agile. 2. Make sure your vehicle is safely secure and stable, use a trolley jack that can safely lift your vehicle and place securely axle stands as shown also don't forget to chock the wheels as well. 3. Make sure you have the correct tools/equipment for the job. 4. Don't even attempt this type of repair as Mr. Williams makes it look a lot easier then it actually is unless you have the confidence and the physical strength to safely carry out this element of work! Ps. A big thank you again to Mr. Williams for helping guide me through my own clutch repair but after my own experience I would never do it again not at my age of 72, best leave it to the experts like Mr. Williams

That’s it… gotta have a bit of humour.
Yep he knows the whole routine. But lack the strength still. I can pretty much leave him to disassemble all top of end and rebuild it with minimal assistance.

@@WMCS Brilliant, he's got the best teacher, no question about that. Loved the bleeding method of pumping the pedal with the bleed nipple shut, then depressing the pedal with a bar. slacken nipple and then let her squirt :) then tighten , that's a great one. I know mechanics and the only manual bleeding I've seen them do is, open nipple, someone presses the pedal, keeps it down, tighten, rinse and repeat for infinitely, especially on an insignia. Thanks again and all the best you family.

Everything depends on the life situation. They are express mechanics. If any machine is expensive to service. There are express mechanics. Depending on the vehicle, it is difficult to disassemble the modifications and put together new inventory so that you can continue driving. If it is complicated, then use the stationary service elevator. We are not the only mechs in the world. such a lot of mechanics.

Thank you for this video Kevin. Really hope your doing well after whats happend. My neighbour changed his clutch on the ground yesterday and oboy he was struggling with put that gearbox back up on the engine. Think he almost gave up when my youngest son came by and helped him get it back up. Vauxhall Vectra 2006 2.8l OPC (Opel vectra here in Sweden). I cant write his choise of vocabulary during the change, but I really think the devil himself would have been blushing of all the words hahaha
The design of a vectra is 80% brackets and the rest is built around them.
Any progress in healing up and find a new van to get back up on the horse again?
    Regards from Sweden.
