Your comment about wearing a face mask to protect against debris brought a memory flooding back to me.... it was almost 25 years ago now but the memory is still very vivid. A very good friend of mine had his own garage service and repair workshop. He was replacing an exhaust on a car one day when a pice or debris from the old exhaust went into his mouth and entered his throat. He had a bit of a cough, splutter and spit then carried on with the job. Later that day at home he mentioned to his wife that he was getting a sore throat. To cut a long story short his sore throat turned into an abscess which he ended up being admitted to hospital for. There were concerns the abscess was occluding his airway so they wanted to operate to remove it. The morning of his operation he got up to go to the bathroom, half way there the abscess burst into his blood stream.... the result being he died of sepsis. Steve was just 40 years old....
How .. that’s quite sad. But very real. The amount f times things gets in thr mouth is so much more than in the eye. Still a very sad moment what happened to your pal.
Interesting to see weights of box...i done a Connect Tourneo whatever its called this week, and like a moped gearbox in comparison with the Renault master rwd done in France week before...back to head gaskets next week i think...the life of an immigrant mechanic in Europe😂
That’s a skill that applies worldwide. A good mechanic is like a very rare good Doctor or specialist for that matter. This one gearbox is probably the 3rd heaviest on the chart at 75kg.
Thanks for tuning in.
Really appreciate the support and feedback.
