Love the auction content appreciate this episode! 34:09 is a fantastic piece of advice. I’ll nominate mid round WRs before the top ones go and they’ll often go under their price cause everyone is saving for the big RBs. To go with this I really dislike the “nominate players you don’t want” strat cause if you’re leaguemates are even mildly competent they’ll see what you’re doing. Nominating an injured RB2 doesn’t make anyone want him any more. Also just go ahead and nominate players at a reasonable bid. No you’ll never get CMac or JT for 1 dollar so just start him off closer to his price and speed things up
@@MrZola1234 Thanks, that is a good plan. I want to have studs, but since I'm also in a keeper league, I need to allocate some dollars to scoop up rookies for 2023 (I can keep up to 3 guys per year).
Thank you for doing more auction draft content! I would love if you could apply the values to your other rankings like 6 point qb scoring and others. Happy subscriber!
I commish a league that only does auction drafts. Everyone that I have introduced to my league and draft has come back saying it was the most exciting draft. So much strategy involved and everyone has a fair shot. League has been very competitive and close every season.
@@odorihines9129 yeah I agree I like having at least 1 snake every year because it is interesting how the strategy is very different, and even though you have to be way more prepared for auction there is still strategy in having a great snake draft as well. Knowing when you have to reach for your guy when you can wait a round, how things play out if your at the beginning, end or middle of the draft order. If I am not first 3 I rather be the end of the snake usually. Drafting a good team in the middle 4,5,6,7 I think is the most difficult
I prefer auction as it requires a bit more than luck in a year where are fewer quality RB'S and a ton of quality receivers. Everyone can get hurt. I would rather have CMC with the risk than 1.5 guys with a lower ceiling than him for the price. There is always somebody on the rise and you just have to grab them early and pay attention to injuries. I will say that CMC and JT are the only RB'S I will drop $60 on this year. There is a lot of chop below those two.
My auction league has been going 20+ years, the best advantage is getting the player rated at the top and finishing at the top! Had cmc for 3 straight years.... won league with him healthy but struggled with him hurt.
I joined my first ever and still only league with work friends 3 years ago. It's an auction draft PPR 12 man and I love the format!! The content is limited for auction straight up, but there is a translation from the snakers for sure. But that said, this auction directed content is invaluable and I look forward to this episode from Establish the Run every year. I have grown fast from it! I can confidently say I'm easily in the top 3 of most informed people going into the draft. Still just working on the kinks on making the right bets lol. Grabbed Ja'Marr last year but unfortunately CMC as well. I'm pumped going into my draft this Saturday!
It difficult for the league I am in it's 20 team league 300 cap auction.. what I use is tiers and try and keep track of what players go for and it gives you some sort of idea of what you will pay but, auctions are value based.. call out position is also a variable. My best auctions are on the fly just know what guys you want and get them..
where does Jack get the players values that he THINKS they should go for? does that make sense? i understand Average auction values but i'm assuming Jack has all the players ranked before the draft and the values he believes they are worth?
10 team auctions i find balanced is better. But then again, i dont think balanced is the right way to look at it. The most expensive players are the most likely to get injured. Getting decent prices on 2nd 3rd rounder type players is better than going for 2 first rounders.
I literally ruined my auction draft season last year on 2 of the first like 4 players. Knew a guy wanted Kamara really bad and tried to bid him up, got stuck with him after I already had CMC. CMC was hurt most of the year and I had spent like 120 of my 200 budget on 2 players in a 10 team league, where we play an extra QB and an extra flex. Think I drafted 11 of my people at $1 and pretty much had my last 5 or 6 picks when everyone else was done....
Because the top 5 or 6 RBs have a production value that is so far beyond the rest of the league's RBs. The difference between the 8th ranked WR and the 20th ranked WR is usually going to be pretty small. The difference between the 8th RB and the 20th RB is massive.
@@mikevanatta10 The difference from 8-20 at both positions is almost identical when the season is over. Looking at projections ya clearly there is a huge gap but it’s never reality season long. WR out scores RB at the RB3 and never looks back and yet we continue to rip dead zone RBs off the board like they’re the key to it all and I’m pretty sure they’re not.

So great to hear Jack’s opening strategy is allocate 170-175 to starter in auctions…. It’s what I have been doing since I started auction leagues.
Is that for a $200 budget though? I like the strategy, just need to know what the assumption is about budget.
@@DonVito591 yep, $200, the other approach i have used is use $175--180 starters and 1 rb and 1 wr on the bench. This gives you a little more depth.

Such a great guest! ETR getting it done!
thank you for putting out auction content. i have no idea why people are still playing snake formats
Auction Drafts should be the default draft system.
Absolutely
Naw, it's fun but snake is just as fun

Best site for real money auction drafts? Thanks
This was a good video. A wise man and not just dudes acting like 10 year olds
Thanks!

Thank you for the Auction content gentlemen🙏🏾
Appreciate you watching!
15:24 - Stars vs. Scrubs.
34:03 - put up someone mid-tier in 1st rd.
Sounds a lot like putting together DFS lineup

At first I thought that said Jack Ham!
Great show guys.
Does Jack have a price list available? Would love to be able to see how he prices players.
He does not. Our site does have auction values though
Long time listener but considering the draft kit or Fantasy & DFS bundle. Is there a promo code for first time subscribers?
ETR5 will get you 5% off either of these products. Enjoy!
Do you have a link for the NFFC auction average's? Cant find it anywhere

Stars be scrub work as long as your top 2-3 don’t get hurt. Last year I lost my top 4 guys by week 5 I was toast
Whos your top qb? And top rb?
I guess I'm an OG because I've ben doing auctions for 10+ years so I know all this

oh wow, that's brutal
hope you learned your lesson ....cmc is toast
Tried the mid round players for my first 2 rounds. I got Juju for $6 and lost Cooper for $7. I jedi tricked myself 🤣
Glad to see it worked (decently)!
If ur league is too vanilla make it an auction. U will not go back..
After my 1st nomination I nominate guys I don't want so these guys blow their stacks early. The first 10 minutes dudes are asleep most times
gibson owners put a hit on robinson owners obv......
So if everyone is looking at this, then everybody dominates, so no one dominates.
Why are running backs so over valued in fantasy football leagues? Snake and auctions alike.
Because the top 5 or 6 RBs have a production value that is so far beyond the rest of the league's RBs. The difference between the 8th ranked WR and the 20th ranked WR is usually going to be pretty small. The difference between the 8th RB and the 20th RB is massive.

Hardest part about an auction draft is the lack of mocking or practice.
for sure - much easier to mock a snake draft
Here's a tip. Watch Evan and Company's draft last night to see how NOT to draft. Complete incompetence!!
Yeah they all fucked that up properly we’ll. Definitely hope not to do a zero RB strat
Also stop mentioning who you guys want on steam…like cmon lol
Yeah but it was by far the most entertaining
