It’s a bummer auctions aren’t more popular. Honestly I think the reason why is because they’re so complex and dynamic. And there’s so much strategy involved
I'll be in an Auction draft this weekend for the 1st time. This video was great. Picked up a lot of good tips and insite that makes sense. Great job guys!
I did an auction draft last year with 15 other teams and spent a majority of my money on 4 players (JJ, Scary Terry, Nick Chub, and Aaron Jones) and spent $1 each for the rest of my team. Ended up winning my league because every week, I attacked the waiver wire and let my top 4 guys carry me week after week. Do i recommend that strategy? No because if one or two of my top 4 guys don’t hit, I almost always lose and it was stressful every week hoping my team. However, I think having 2-3 star players is key to having a successful season. I agree with the guys 100%. Definitely will adjust my strategy this year using these guy’s advice.
I agree going overboard stars/scrubs is typically a poor formula for long term success statistically but drafting a couple stars and completing your roster balanced after that is ideal. Even 3 stars handcuffs your starting roster
I have CMC for $65 as my third keeper. With the league there's an inflation maybe around 20% because of the keepers. Im not sure if I should hold CMC for $65
Thanks for the extremely helpful video! The technical and mathematical approach to auction drafts was exactly what I was looking for. Great work gentlemen!
As more math guys get into this due to the bigger pools, everyone is looking to get the market advantages wherever they can. Hence, the highest scoring position is costing more.

People want simplicity and deny change. I bring it up to my friends they hate the idea, but believe they are advanced players. Small minds man.
@@Bwalks4 for sure! And I wish there was a way we could turn OFF pre draft values next to players. People blindly follow the pre draft values.
My league of 12 has been doing auction for several years now. I feel like once you get them onboard there is no going back.
@@milehighboost5521 there are a few friends that are auction fans; they just have to be a little open.
It’s way tougher but 100% more fun if you know what you’re doing. Redraft is a fun casual experience
Is there any way we can see a mock auction draft from Jack and Chris?
This is truly outstanding content.

Love auction drafts! They’re the best
Where's the best place to find the average auction values?

Hurts for sure !!’ He’s going to exceed last year numbers
I always appreciate when Chris takes time away from his busy touring schedule singing for The Smashing Pumpkins to share his auction knowledge.
Damn he does look like Billy Corgan.
@@MrAminalCrackers Once sat behind him at a Cubs game. Fans didn't know which one of us to ask for an autograph.
what auction value list do you use?
A few years ago you had a Jack article on your ETR website. Has he done any other auction articles more recently?
We switched to auction 5 years ago so the teams that put the time in have the advantage.
I’m going cmc and pollard and jones at my flex. I still have plenty of money to get plenty of talented receivers with my leftover 30 dollars.
I remember drafting Drew Brees one year in a standard league because i was trying to get somebody else to overpay😂
Are you guys doing the best picks strategy for snake drafts again this year?

I've been doing auction keeper leagues for about 10 years now. I could never go back to snake drafts,
This guy even badly spoke why did you even bother this man for this video it’s kind of foul treating him like a red headed step child
