The TTR has better aftermarket here in the US, but if you spend the money the japanese have fancy stuff for the XR. Dry clutch, big bore strokers, dohc heads, 6 speeds, etc.
I've owned both these bikes and yes the ttr is better, newer design, more cc, etc. But did anyone notice the yz forks and aftermarket exhaust on the ttr? I wouldn't be surprised if it has more mods. Might not be a very fair comparison. That said, yes, the TTR rocks for what it is.
I raced my ttr against a V6 new edge mustang and kept up with it until it topped out. If the shifter wasn't so sloppy, I probably could have pulled ahead alittle

Definitely! Every single Honda pit bike we have ever owned has had a carb issue. Most of the time we just replace the carbs altogether so yeah, totally common
Richie Hervig half the time there no better then then the one you already have it just needs a bit of tuning but it’ll get there. I gotta 01 XR100 with a 110 main jet and it runs great when all gets clean but once a killer peace of dirt gets there It’ll run weird or won’t start/stay on
The pilot jets in these carbs are so small that anything clogs them up. You need to be absolutely meticulous with your fuel and run a good filter between the tank and the carb. once you clean them two or three times, you get the hang for the carb real fast.

I’m 4’7 and sat and started my friends ttr 125 medium frame but it was a little too heavy and a little too big, I could touch on one foot but I’m only 70 pounds. Do you think a small frame would fit me better or any more 125cc suggestions for a first bike?
They both are almost the same if you put them side to side 125cc will still not out perform the 100cc There are also more mods for the xr/crf 100 like bbr kits Racing carbs shock to me I would pick the crf/xr more reliable, and starts almost 1st kick every time

You'll probably pay a little more for a XR but it comes with reliability. I have BEAT ran my XR 100 for 8 years now and it still starts first kick

True that man. Stock is always best even if it needs tuning sometimes
