these fights are back-yard fights, and sometimes the ref doesn't see the tap and so it's a good idea to also verbally say "tap" so if rep doesn't see the tap they can hear it
@alisam4140 He saw it, I was right there and he was just standing, looking at his arm and said after, I knew it was only a few seconds so I let it go. The guy is the worst.

This was a good example of strength, aggression, and athleticism being equal and technique (in this case, superior grappling) driving the win.
great example of grappling winning a fight. some really nice exchanges between two game fighters. please note the consistent advantage that underhooks gave matt throughout the fight. @3:40 knowing that sometimes fighters read these comments: matt - in this scenario where the taller fighter has a bodylock, a great option is to simply pick up your opponent, kick his legs to sweep him more horizontal, and then slam him down. this demoralizes him and puts you in a great position to advance your position.
We gonna ignore the fact that he had superior striking tho?

The americana rarely works when arm is up that high. To limit mobility, pull their elbow down to their same side hip, then torque and it pops pretty quickly. Just a friendly tip for guys without much BJJ experience.
I loved the fight but really tho, I think this is something to reconsider for any matches where kicks are allowed. That is that footwear should be off.

Surely the ref's responsibility is to protect the fighters. If you can't see him tapping out then find someone who can! Apart from that, great fight, respect to them both.

Stocky vs Lanky! Two of the most powerful body types. Which normally avoid one another.
Mostly it's stocky who gets it if they have same skills or no skills, Also it depends on who got the chin and cardio.
