Been playing it and it’s a blast so far. I’m honestly glad that they make spin-offs to fill out the wait between titles, because otherwise it’d feel a looot longer.
Having played the original game (uh, I mean P5 Royal) somehow I doubt you'd have Kasumi in your party in this one. But I'll also say no more about it because not everyone has played Persona 5 Royal.
I think it’s hard to argue that this game is a better spinoff than Strikers, but it’s still been quite fun. Wish the harder difficulties were more challenging tho
@@CorynSilverAs someone who also has some annoyance issues with P5 and P4's spinoffs, not really. I still enjoyed P4 significantly, just got tired of it getting more and more stuff. P5 I just dislike, but the spinoffs aren't why.
I just wish Tactia was aftee Strikers Cause it seems to be Royal, and then the Q2 Story during Casino Arc. and Tactia's Repaint Your Heart, sometime during the Casino Palace Arc, Then the main story of Tactia seems to be just before Joker goes back home at the end of Royal, then Dancing In Starlight, then Strikers
I'm gonna be waiting till Christmas before I play Tactica, I'm too addicted to Risk of Rain Returns right now and it's so close to Christmas that I might as well wait, but I'm getting more and more excited for it the more I hear about it. The fact the game is actually good is of course great, but I've heard a ton of good stuff about the DLC which is great because Sumi is my favorite Persona character (Akechi's up there too, love both of them), and the part of the game I'm (mostly) willing to spoil myself on, that being the music, is just as good as I'd hoped. Not having Shoji Meguro composing was a bit worrying at first, but I don't know why I was doubtful for a second. Quiet Storm from the DLC is a personal favorite of mine because it's a completely different style of song for P5 and it has LOTUS JUICE THE MADMAN HIMSELF FOR BACKGROUND VOCALS which is FANTASTIC, but all the vocal themes are great. The only one I haven't listened to is the credits song because I always leave them for when I actually finish the game so they have more impact. Revolution is a Blade is another favorite of mine, I saw someone call it "Throw Away Your Mask 2" and it's pretty accurate, the lyrics have very similar themes and they both are from the perspective of the antagonist instead of the Thieves like the rest of the songs. TLDR, the music is good and I'm optimistic to play this eventually. Should be good prep since I plan to play Fire Emblem Three Houses relatively soon, they might not be the exact same type of tactics but when my only other experience is ~5 hours of Wargroove and a 3/4 finished file on the first Mario Rabbids, it's better than nothing. The one thing I'm hopeful of that I haven't had confirmed is that Haru gets more screentime, she's such a great sadistic little bean and I NEED to see more screentime with her. That's one thing Strikers did a lot of and to go back on that would be a huge miss.
I’m very surprised they used the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle tactics system, but I’m not complaining as I love that system to pieces! Definitely picking it up at some point in the future
Want to pick this game up eventually since I LOVE the Persona series. But recently picked up Baldurs Gate 3 on PS5 and I want to play that first. There’s just SO MANY FANTASTIC games coming out this year.
Man i overhyped myself when i heard the title Tactica..... i was hoping for a Final Fantasy Tactics style game but it was just Xcom: Persona 5 edition.......... maybe when i finally try the other Persona games I'll come back and try this, i enjoyed Mario + Rabbid and this looked fun.
I was really interested on this until I found out there’s no overworld exploration. Which is a shame because I feel that’s what balances out the amount of battling you do in a game like this before it gets repetitive.
Xcom is not open world and it still nails its gameplay and overall gameplay experience. Linear experiences in tactical games like this do work. Xcom and most recently Othercide are living proof of this. It looks like Atlus did a reasonable job with this game.
@@cbgg1585 I know they can work and many people enjoy them. I just personally prefer RPGs wether turn-based or tactical to have that because of what I mentioned.
The best one ? Nah, I prefer Strikers, especially because of th antagonist and new playable characters (Sophia + Zenkichi). You travel all around Japan. You are not stuck only in Tokyo. Also the art style is most faithful to Persona 5. 😁
Same, honestly. I find Tactica fine enough, but I prefer other strategy games. Strikers actually was a lot of fun, even if it kind of retreaded the same ground P5 did, but I find it forgivable there since Strikers actually came off as having an enjoyable story unlike P5.
A must-play for existing Persona 5 fans, for sure. For everyone else, it feels like turning on the TV halfway through a movie. Atlus had to have known that two groups are going to be buying this game - existing Persona fans, and the millions of TTRPG fans who have never played a Persona game before. So if you are a fan of the TTRPG genre and want to buy P5Tactica because it's a vibrant and unique addition to the genre, just be warned that you get no introduction whatsoever.
I'm surprised with how short of a game this is, especially compared to Strikers and Royal. Still, it's incredible, and feels more like the true successor to the original. Can't wait to try the DLC!
Took me 15-16 odd hours to beat the story and roughly another 15 to 100% Tactica. In comparison, it took me 35 hours to platinum Spiderman 2. It is about right for a game like this as it isn’t a deep narrative RPG. Perhaps even more content than what I was expecting considering its budget compared to a AAA game like Spiderman.
Hello GVG, I noticed you don’t always put the “side rainbow” in all your thumbnails. Is there a reason? Like do yall put it on only certain thumbnails?
Im just fed up with the p5 characters at this time, sp even if it looks a bit interesting im really not interested in another game with the Phantom Thieves.
Doesn’t matter what you want. Demand is still there for more Persona 5 content. The world doesn’t revolve around you. 🤣🤡 I am sick of GTA 5, but I understand from a business perspective on why Rockstar persists with GTA 5 Online; it still profits. Plain and simple. Not hard to understand why Atlus are still going balls deep with Persona 5
Been playing it and it’s a blast so far. I’m honestly glad that they make spin-offs to fill out the wait between titles, because otherwise it’d feel a looot longer.
I like the spin offs a lot but there are also other games out there to play while waiting fore Persona 6.
I actually played the DLC first cuz i wanted Akechi and Kasumi in my party... only to find out that's exclusive to NG+
🤡
Having played the original game (uh, I mean P5 Royal) somehow I doubt you'd have Kasumi in your party in this one.
But I'll also say no more about it because not everyone has played Persona 5 Royal.
The DLC assumes you never played through all of Royal (which bothers me to no end) but yeah.@@klop4228
Beat it last night and started working on the DLC today, absolutely spectacular game from start to finish.
I think it’s hard to argue that this game is a better spinoff than Strikers, but it’s still been quite fun. Wish the harder difficulties were more challenging tho
Yeah this def won’t be better for me than Strikers, but I’d like to play it at some point. p5 strikers is my fave persona game overall
I am in love with the charm on this game. It’s too bad people aren’t willing to give it a shot
@LucasThePhantomThiefI’d rather quality spin offs than nothing.
@LucasThePhantomThief Boy you must hate Persona 4 then cuz it got plenty of them too, and I expect Persona 3 Reload to spark some
@LucasThePhantomThief oh wow, you poor thing, forces to exist in a world where spin offs happen 😂

Strikers is still my favorite of the spin-offs. But boy, this game really gave it some actual competition.
I don't think I'll get this, but it looks cool!
The big Fire Emblem and Persona guy on the team loves the Persona-themed tactics game who knew.
I just bought Royale on a Black Friday discount, Im more of a tactical fan, so this spinoff excites me more, but I will buy it later
Tried it on game pass and was surprised at how fun it was, right off the bat, and just decided to buy it on switch to get comfy with it.
I’m very surprised they used the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle tactics system, but I’m not complaining as I love that system to pieces! Definitely picking it up at some point in the future
Strikers is the best spin off...I don't know how you can compare tactica when it doesn't even have an overworld.
played and beat the dlc first and gotta say. damn that was a fun twist on this genre
Persona making a Splatoon tactics game before Splatoon was not on my bingo card

On my Christmas wish list. I LOVE P5 and I love tactics games, so this is right up my alley.
@13:10 Splatoon 3's second DLC is clearly not what I anticipated

Not for 60 bucks though I’ll wait for a discount. Especially after reviews said it wasn’t that amazing.
i enjoyed strikers wayyyy more then this. The 2nd area with all the doors made me want to quit. This game goes from fun to frustrating real quick
I was so on the fence about this game, but like ive seen so much good about it that i kinda have to give it a shot.
I personally still like Strikers more, but this game is pretty good.
One thing for sure is i enjoy it much better than mario rabbid games...it's more strategic and fun.
I love Persona 5 and XCOM, so this may be right up my alley

Yeah agreed I got about 4 hours into tactica and the gameplay and story just wasn't grabbing me. Strikers was much better I think at least imo
@@Abcgum64 Strikers really feel like a "sequel" to P5. I still don't understand how people skiped this game.

I want to like it but I can’t get past the first side challenge. Which is mandatory I guess. The one that makes you beat it in two turns. Sucks ass
Mario rpg came out the same day. I like tactics games but ill wait a month on it, its a sega game after all which means cheap in a few weeks
A splatoon tactical game

Nice 👍
Woooo🥳
I liked Scramble/Strikers better
The game may be good, but man I'm so tired of Persona 5 spin-offs.
Dont worry, the P3 spin off train is gonna get started real soon
I’ll probably never get tired of it 😂
There’s only 3

Like first and come back later. Im at the end of the game now.
No thank you. I'd rather play ubisofts mario rabbits
Plesse let this be the last one, Samael
Yeah, game looks good. In multiple senses of that phrase of course, what with the Persona 5 style and such.
Ew, day 1 DLC, ew.
