Most expensive release clauses are above €1 billion, like 9-10 players in the Spanish League have them, cuz it's mandatory there to have a release clause for every player, so they just put a clause that no team can even think about paying.

one thing, this guy says there are 4 big leagues in europe. while those 4 are certainly the biggest at the moment, these things change through time as the teams from different leagues compete against eachother in the european knock out competitions (champions league (1st tier), europa league (2nd) and the recently added conference league(3rd)), competing not only for club trophies but also for points in the european league rankings. normally people talk more about the top 5 leagues, being england, spain, germany, italy and france. but every country has it's own league and there are many other good leagues like the dutch, portuguese, turkish, belgian, swiss and austrian league. as well as good leagues in other continents like the brazilian, mexican, japanese, saudi, egyptian, korean, south african, argentinian and australian league.
The dutch and portuguese league are very close to overtaking france for the 5th spot at the moment.
You have to understand the concept of negative football. Take Mourinho's Real Madrid. As a Madrid fan, Madrid wasn't playing boring at all despite playing negative, the matches were actually excilirating because that team was able to stand up to Peps Barcelona and despite losing 5-0 the first time almost every other game between then in La Liga had feelings that the game could go either way. Tactically it was a fascisnating time
I'm pretty sure most of you Americans think that "soccer" (actually called football pretty much in every country) is a European sport, but that couldn't be farther from the truth, it's a global game, even in Congo they have professional teams so that says an awful lot about the reach of this sport.

In England, there are 7,000 teams in a Country which is the size of Oregon. lol The main "Football League" is made up of 4 Divisions with 20 teams in THe PREMIER LEAGUE. The Second Tier is called The CHAMPIONSHIP comprising 24 teams, like all the other Divisions, play every team in their Division both at Home and Away so 38 games in The Top Tier and 46 games per season in the other 3 English Divisions making 92 teams. Usually, the bottom 3 teams get relegated and replaced by the top 3 clubs in the division below and the 2 teams at the bottom of the 4th Tier get kicked out altogether to be replaced by the best 2 teams in the 5th Division.Top teams play over SIXTY matches in 4 competitions !

in reality nba contract moves people way more like slaves and object because they can be trade everywhere without having any choice. In europe every time you move a players from a team to another the player have to sign a new contract with the new team about his salary and can choose to sign only for the team he want. So by paying the clause teams are only cutting out the discussion with the Football team that owns the player.
in spain you’re required to have release clauses, so if the players are happy with the clubs they’ll agree to completely outrageous clauses to stay at the club. the release clauses can get up to $1b

Think of release clause as buying the contract not the player. Plus, usually the player has a say if he wants to be transferred.

Usually release clauses are built into the contract and set pretty high so teams won't snap up young or impactful players.
Real Madrid likes to set those clauses really high so the other clubs have to personally negotiate.
Release clauses means the clubs don't have to go to the club and negotiate and can just pay the fee and get their player.
Transfers are basically the trading system in soccer. Chelsea in the Premier league are the real spenders and its not uncommon for players to be sold for over 100 million dollars
Most English matches are nonstop action, often, end to end and Home, and don't allow their home players to be too defensive. If their team is winning, comfortably, that is different though there ARE more delays than before. 10 Substitutes (5 per team) 40 years ago there was ONE substitute. and VAR in The Premier League which stops and slows play down to forensically check if a goal should be allowed and can take 4 minutes to , finally, decide.
I mean, the non stop action in England only really goes for the top 6 in general. There are plenty of teams playing on the counter with 20-40% possession

Under League 2 is the Vanarama National League and under them is Vanarama North and South in the Vanarama the bottom 4 get relegated and get split between the north and south and the north and south send up 2 each to the Vanarama.
You might have heard the name Wrexham. Last year they were in the Vanarama National League and got promoted to League 2 where they look likely to be promoted again to League 1.

FIFA is pretty good but if you want to truly understand tactics and transfers then Football Manager would be a better option. It goes real deep into what it means to run a club.

Release clause fees obviously depend on the player. For a world class player it can be tens or even hundreds of millions. Jude Bellingham has a staggering release clause of 1 billion (!) Euros - I'm pretty sure no club will ever be willing (or even able) to pay that much.

I've tried to watch soccer a few times I just can't get into it it's too boring it's about as exciting as the WNBA
It's funny because I would say the same thing about alot of American sports. I agree that not all football is exciting but honestly Basketball is a joke, the scoring is ridiculous. Literally every time a team attacks they score. NFL is the most frustrating sport, so much potential yet you sit there for 3 hours for 11 minutes of actual action. Baseball is just the same as NFL, stop start. Too long and unexciting.
Probably why I love athletics. I know there will be action for that event.

Almost every boy in Germany plays football (soccer) as a kid. If we had no ball we played with an empty tin can in the streets. That's maybe why I like it till today because I played it myself a lot with my friends. Good memories. But I don't follow every single game, actually it often bores me too to watch "some teams" I don't care about.
You need your own team, it's like your fcking tribe and every league game is a battle against other tribes. The game itself is cool, but at the end it is the competition that keeps you watching. So if you're not involved in some way I don't wonder you don't like it very much. For me it's pretty much the same with baseball, it's okay but I just got no access.

@@jdwilmoth Baskerball is so boring. There is scoring in ebery minute and it does not give the thrill. Rather a sudden goal.increases the dopamine highly. Also Soccer is not only about goals. There is amazing passes, tackles, GK saves, teamplay tactics, dribbling. All these are enjoyable.
And more importantly, Soccer is.played in every country and if your club do better, you can become league champions and qualify to continental Champions league. Winning the Champions league will take your club to Club world cup. By winning it, you will become world champion. Same also goes for national team case.
No other sport has gor this type of competition and fun.
