You could try a dehumidifier, they have some that have hoses out the back so you dont have to empty them. It drains itself
Yeh, I'm sure they're superior to my Damp Rids (which are actually pretty decent). I used to have one, but it didn't work right...haven't mustered up the funds to take a shot at another one yet. Thanks for the feedback!
hey bud. thanks for the review. im currently looking to acquire turf to add in my garage-gym area. My girl believes the padded floor is better. im just wondering, is the turf more comfortable than padding for floor exercises like planks, situps and pushups?
Two thumbs up for the Norwex mop!! Woot Woot! OH...and I like your “Danger Sensor” plug that senses..danger. LOL Lasko plugs are great. They have a fuse that will pop instead of you getting electrocuted. We don’t want that now do we, Rob!?! Your review videos are great man!

Yes sir! My mom has about every product they make, so I end up with Norwex products by association. Like on Sundays after the big family dinner (lunch for you guys in Ohio): “Here’s a ton of leftovers to take home, and oh by the way take one of these new Norwex towels with you.” Aren’t moms great! lol
What turf did you buy?
Hey Rob, curious about your GHD setup. How do you like it? Thinking of doing the same with a foam Plyobox and a ghd pad from fitness depot (Canadian comparable to Titan).
I love it. It would be nice to have the lower anchor attachment (the box shifts sometimes, but I have to move it so often that I think it would be a pain. That sounds like a solid idea
How was the smell of the horse stall mats initially?
Did it die away as the year went on or did you just get used to it?
Just don't want it to be unbearable never made a gym before
I cleand my Stall Mats with simply green and let them air out for a week. They are going in my basement. Is one week long enough to air out the horse stall mats or shoud I go longer before I put them in my basement. Also, does it smell up the basement and how do you deal with this?

Hey Karl, I try to set mine so I can grab them comfortably from my tip toes. This way I can do pullups from a full hollow position (toes in front rather than behind). That said, I'll do them from just about any height in a pinch
What's the damp (something) thing you used to "lick the humidity problem"?
Sorry about that. It's called "damprid". They're these little buckets that suck up the moisture. I have them lying around my gym, and they work pretty darn well.
Here's a review on them (they're a lot cheaper than I say in the video...I screwed up... Like $9)

What is the length of the turf strip here? Do you find it as being enough to call satisfactory? I’m building a garage gym and only have about 20’ I could build a dedicated area to push a sled. I was wondering if it was doable or waist of time due to lack of space. Thanks
Hey Richard, not to be discouraging, but this turf is 30' and it's just barely useful. Don't get me wrong, I literally use it every day for all sorts of exercises (don't regret buying it at all), but I've had to get creative, and it's a bit limiting compared to larger spaces.
There's quite a bit you could do with 20' for sure, but I don't know if it justifies the cost. Maybe try it on cheap carpet first, and see if you can complete the exercises you'd like to, then decide whether to invest in turf. Hope that helps!! Thanks Richard!
Thanks for the info. I'm in the end stages of converting a garage into a gym. Same size as yours. Been calling around about rurf. Not much knowledge out there regarding type I need. To me its not all the same. At home depot and similar stores the indoor/outdoor stuff is not sports turf, contrary to what employees there tell me. What's your opinion? What exactly should I be looking for?
I wouldn't buy any from box stores--totally different product. You're can run a sled on it, but it won't last long... At least that's what I've been told by folks who have tried it.
I'm not terribly versed in the differences among turf types, but here's a page from the company I bought it from where they explain each type they sell.

If you're gonna go super cheap, if just but some cheap, low ply carpet. Works pretty well and costs next to nothing

Did you plan the gym before buying your home, what were your requirements in terms of needs for space for home gym?
Good question! Nope, the pole barn was here when we bought it (the previous owner kept a boat down here). I decided a couple years ago I wanted to start training my clients at my place, so I purchased some key equipment and made the conversation.

Three Storm Fitness first week with it so far, it definitely does get the job done, but any tips on how to keep the mats clean because it seems to hold dust and pet hair like crazy
So my wife is really sensitive to the stall mat smell even after months of having em. So we’re looking at other options for our lifting area. We were thinking a black turf lifting area like under the squat rack and where our dumbbell lifting takes place but aren’t really how well turf wild feel under some heavy lifting. Do you think it could work out?
I would not lift on turf, it will be like lifting on spongy foam mats, you need a firm, flat, even surface. A mistake that a lot of people make is to install their mats right away before airing them out outside or in a well-ventilated area, if there's any way to do that with your mats I would try that first. Otherwise I would suggest Flooring Inc., that's where I got my gym flooring, saving some money isn't worth inhaling the off-gassing of something meant for barn animals.
I know this is late but maybe try an air purifier
How about the edges shedding pieces of rubber?
I haven't had much of an issue with that.
Hey did you buy the turf with shock pads or it don’t really matter?
Not exactly, but the company that makes the turd (OnDeck Sports) pretty much builds in shock absorption to the turf. It's actually pretty solid at absorbing impact.

I recently got turf from On Deck Sports. I noticed it's 'shedding' quite a bit. Is that normal? Does it dissipate after use?
I've noticed a little shedding over the last three years, but honestly, it's been pretty minor for me. It's most prevalent on the center (the front sled foot typically travels over the seam of the two), and the edges from moving stuff around. For the most part, it's been pretty solid. I would definitely let OnDeck know if it continues to get bad...doesn't seem right.

Horse stall mats have an odor, which is actually the product off-gassing into the air. I wouldn't recommend these despite the price.
seen people comment about this and tractor supply company sometimes stores them outside so by the time you buy them, the odor is gone. People buy, degrease them good, and let it bake in the sun for a few days to get rid of the smell
