It is a really really cool combo. I would have like to shoot more with it but I was only able to keep the camera for a week. Perhaps in the future sometime soon!
Yet another certified banger on my feed! Currently working on a project that'll be able to let people use a Metabones Speedbooster on the bmpcc 6k for less than $100. I Would love to see how it matches up with one of these bad boys.
@@kurencee Great, thanks. Do you have a rough idea of timescales in mind? Are you a product designer by trade, or do you have engineering/lens expertise of some sort, yourself or via contacts? I would imagine tooling/precision measurement and production is key for a project like this, and achieving consistent results for production. I'll check out the channel, so apologies if these things are covered there. I have a metabones speedbooster 0.64x that I would love to repurpose when I get my 6k FF shortly...
@@neurojitsu I'm reteaching myself some skills i learned in manufacturing but forgot overtime, because of the route I went with my design it doesn't have to have the most accurate fit and finish and it'll hold up perfect and focus just as intended. Of course things may change overtime.
Great video. One thing I was unclear about was the part of the native iso, you mentioned 1000 and 1250 to be part of the native isos, but I thought they were 400 & 3200, please advise.
Hey Jake thanks for the info video. I just picked up a bmcc6k with a Woodstock PL Mount. for $700 in mint condition. I'm a feature film director and cinematographer plus a camera junkie. LOL. I own 2 REDONE MX packages, Canon 7d, Canon 7D FGV PL Mount, (awesome camera) a Canon 1DC 4K, and my beloved Sony Cine Alta F35. I'm going to test the bmcc6k as I'm starting another feature film soon, low budget, small cast and crew, So I think the bmcc6k can work better, faster setups etc. So now I'm looking at cages. My last feature, LULLABY, on Tubi and Amazon, was shot all handheld with the 7D. Keep uptake great informative work.
I’m new to cameras, as I will be purchasing my first in a month or 2. I’m really loving the image coming out of the 6K FF, but I’ve been unable to get one single question answered. Is BRAW efficient enough for quick turnaround projects where footage is to be graded? I hope that question makes sense.
Ordered the 6K Full frame, should be arriving this week, pair it with Sigma 24-70 Art L mount, DJI RS3 Pro combo, tempted to get the Dji Lidar autofocus too. Great review thanks
I use the exact same combo except my kipon adapter is for Sony emount. I love the way the mamiya compression looks. I also paired it with the Blazar 1.5x anamorphic adapter for some great results.
Really really great review. Thank you for making this. I'm a long time BMD user (currently 6K Pro and Ursa 12K OLPF). I appreciated the fact that you said this new camera is more about lens selection and not the full frame sensor. Everyone keeps drooling over Blackmagic going FF, but I'm more excited about being able to play with other lenses/adapters. The loss of the ND filters is a little bit of a bummer as a doc filmmaker, but I'm sure they will figure out a way around that in a future camera (possibly a new Ursa I hope).
i used the kippon on a sony a7iii with 6x7 mamiya glass and pentax glass for that sort of medium format look too. i love that its available for other mounts now.
Nice review, are you planning to purchase this camera? I'd be interested in more content like this going deeper into the nuances of this camera, and getting the most from it. I've 95% decided to get one, having just sold my 2.5K original BM cinema camera and some other gear. I would say that many people considering this camera will have a lot of APS-C glass and that the S35 crop on this camera produces a lovely image with little apparent loss of quality - this is a factor for me, so I can use my Sigma Art zooms and a few vintage full frame lenses - and gradually build a set of full frame lenses over time. It makes this camera a no-brainer as a camera to grow into, and a good choice over a 6K Pro - though I can imagine existing 6K Pro/G2 owners might wait to upgrade and see what comes next from BM. On the image from this sensor, I do think there's something quite special about it: a bit of extra background separation and 3D depth perception, which is subtle but noticeable; especially on outdoor scenes, it looks to me a bit more alive than the Pocket Cinema cameras that produce a really lovely painterly look, but lack this sensor's rendering of depth. I think you can notice it mainly on outdoor footage I've seen. I was veering towards the Sigma FP/FP-L until this camera came out, as I like its organic feel, colours and depth rendering - but now with the 6KFF the BM workflow has swung it for me.
awesome video!! Yeah I love my 6k pro and the image it produces. But it doesn't pair well with classic FF lenses like the Helios44, which is unfortunate😐
Imma need somebody to please put this camera on Sharegrid in New York. I have been FEENING to rent out this camera, not necessarily buy because I don't feel like this is the craziest upgrade from my 6k Pro. Regardless, as a creative decision I would most definitely rent this camera for certain projects especially projects that require anamorphic looks to them.
Yeah I would imagine more of them will start become available for rental now, it seems like in general stocks are becoming more plentiful. What anamorphic lenses would you use with the BMCC 6k?
The 6K Full-frame + Mamiyas sound like a perfect combo!
Would love to see more example footage

Super wicked. One thing: infamous is bad. Famous is good :)
Great video man. Appreciate the metal disruptions 🤘
Lol thanks
yes yes! Djent it baby haha

Bought these lens a while back. They look great in FF
the fact that you understood the iso was pleasant is enough for a subscribe from me.
Just found your channel and currently binge watching, keep up the constent i love it!!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that
cool setup, got my FF on the fist customer shoot soon. I like the tilta ecosystem

That anamorphic adapter is probably an insanely cool pairing with this sensor, I think like love to try that at some point

This sensor (and hopefully a faster readout) in a bigger URSA body would be so awesome. Here's to hoping
This specific sensor won't do faster readout, but maybe if Sony comes out with a new version it will have faster readout @@jakehayden998

That sounds so sick. Do you remember which focal lengths you had?
New smallrig cage is finally coming out in June 2024 hurray!
awesome video man!
Wow the colors are amazing
It'll be very difficult to do that on a Sony, blackmagic cameras like... have another dimension of colors

Can I use this for real estate shooting video
You should consider doing a video basic color grade with bmcc4k

how does it not pair well?
what was the name of the base plate? thanks for posting.
found it - the Kessler K-Plate. Must buy one!
Here after the box
Great video
Thanks!
Not sure if you’ve ever considered trying the contax t2 or leica m6 but would love to see some examples

Bruh.. 0:14 LOL !!!
Why would someone, who's talking about photography, leave a laptop in front of the object he's trying to show?
2 rat patooties
Sucks. I would have bought this camera if it used ProRes. Hopefully its not the way they go now or I will need to switch off BlackMagic.
Got one for a month now and the lens won't come off. POS garbage!
