- This right foot move in the gold downswing can absolutley destroy an already good golf swing, but can be even more distastorous for a struggling golfer. Your right foot plays a huge roll in the quality of your downswing, so its absolutley vital that you get it right.

I’m subbed to probably 100 golf channels on UA-cam. Nobody has better advice and communication than this guy. Thank you sir!!!
So simple but works. Been trying to not lift trail foot too early and couldn't. 5mins in and already better. Thanks so much.😊
Thanks a lot. I’m getting back into golf and watched a lot of teachers on UA-cam. You’ve impressed me the most and I plan on watching all of your videos. I also appreciate your references to the pros because I carefully watch their swings for ideas.
Thanks bud! I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos! 🤙🏻
What a great teacher you are! Subscribing now.
Simple but brilliant
Hello,
for me it works very well to lift up the right heel at begin downswing.
But my right hip goes to the target, not out, this is the difference.
So, the weight goes left and my left hip open very well.
No early transition. No shift without turning (for me the worst mistake in golf)
Best greetings from Vienna, Erich
Excellent
Great channel, man. You bring up some very good points in this video and they will apply to many golfers, although I have noticed Collin Morikawa lifts his trail foot way up on the downswing and he’s pretty much the best iron player in the world. As a scratch golfer myself, I do it as well and I also early extend on purpose because it’s much easier on my back. You can see why that is when you pause video on just about any pro golfer. Their upper body tracks downward as it rotates while their lower body tracks upward through impact, compressing the lower vertebrae. The faster the hip turn, the more pressure it will be on a back.
Not that everyone should early extend, but it saved my back and works for me. Every golfer is different. Keep up the great content!
What about John Rahm?
From south korea, Thank you😃
Thanks bud!
what a great basic for beginner and a reminding for senior golfer ,,,,,,when are you going to create a video in golf course ? chipping/pitching/bunker shot/fairway bunker/rough/different slope shot/putting/golf courser managment and so on
Thanks bud! I have a video planned on the golf course very soon 👍🏼
I do that horrible move with my trail foot and never understood how to get rid of it. Just downloaded Skillest and really looking forward on doing some lessons with you. I find your videos and way of teaching really honest and real. Great work 👌
Glad to hear you liked the video Roberto! I’m looking forward to working with you!
GOOD STUFF
Thanks Mike!
What are your thoughts on initiating downswing by pushing off with ball of right foot?
Init downswing with right foot rotation. Search gg swing tips on golf channel...
Works for me. I start swing with weight on inside right heel. Can' possibly get right foot off ground until after I hit the ball.
This is such a massive issue for as it’s almost a twitch reaction where my body / mind automatically thinks fire this foot off the ground to generate all this power, had a terrible time shanking shots, because it’s such a gross movement it’s really hard to train your body to keep that foot down
golfers do this to gain power from the ground, its a power source esp for people who are not so strong! Nancy lopez a good example
One of my biggest flaws that I do time to time
😁👍
Thanks bud!
Justin Thomas, is not winning much, because of this problem! Rahm on the other hand, looks extremely stable with his lower body through the hitting area...
lol I’ve always hated when people say oh well this player on tour does this move so it’s ok if I do it. Yeah but buddy you don’t have tour level hand eye coordination. You can’t do that move😂
this is not true.. you can be just as consistent when you lift your right heel immediately after transition
Sorry for me this advice not to lift trail heel early in downswing is bad and very misleading advice. Lifting right heel trail heel and rotating right heel clockwise up in the air has the ver beneficial effect of getting the weight onto the lead foot which is what you want in the downswing into impact.
Keeping trail heel down till late in downswing inhibits weight transfer big time onto lead side. Of course just lifting trail heel up vertically with no rotation early in downswing can and will lead lead to early extension with no hip rotation.
Not taking advice from a man who doesn’t creosote his fences.
Haha love it
Your videos are very helpful but reference to swings of touring pros is a waste
of time. Your audience is made up of golfers that aren’t at that level even if they try to mimic pros.
Thanks bud. The reference to Justin Thomas wasn’t me saying to copy him, it was saying the exact opposite, about how the average golfer can’t do what JT does.
Great video and I liked the reference to JT. I could perfectly understand your arguments for not doing this moove. I struggle with a shank and now after several years og training and lessons, I understand. Would «kiss the knees» drill help for this? Thank you so much for opening my eyes.
