There'd be no way to transport his block of flats there, it's too tall for the Chunnel or for most ferries, he would have to commission a Barge to transport it.
Usually Clarkson is the one who's overly ambitious and his block of flats on a citron was crazy enough, James' idea was actually pretty simple and didn't appear to give him any issues, Hammond's really should have been somewhere in between. When they did another motorhome challenge in the Grand Tour, he actually did exactly what you suggested and just made a livable space on the back of a truck.
6:35 The best James May quote to ever exist. "There's absolutely nothing wrong with this car. Apart from a little bit of electrical infidelity, and the clock. I mean, it works, but only the minute hand works, so I know its quarter to, I just don't know what its quarter to to.
This is one of my favourites. James' got the best design although not good for changing in and out of a wetsuit but still very good. Jeremy's is down right dangerous as it falls over in the night from the wind. And Richard's is just too big and complicated us it took forever to assemble.
I remebr reading that it's because of a loophole of sorts in the UK regulations on modified cars. While they do put limits on width and length, there are none regarding height, hence Jeremy's car. And neither Richard's nor James' vehicles were very problematic in comparison.
I wanna see these creations merged whereas Hammond's Land Rover is the base vehicle, but with the use of the "telescopic things" from James' Lotus, it becomes a tower like Jeremy's leaning tower of Citroen. I think it could work.
Hammond sort of had the right idea for his vehicle. Insted of having the back having wall slides he could of just made it into the shape it is but static, he would have room for a bed, cooking equiptment and so on. He had a crapper in the passenger side so he would be sorted.
*Jeremy rolls up in the leaning tower of Citroen* Me: alright, he'll declare it to be either brilliant, superb or magnificent Jeremy: It's superb I love the way this man speaks
5:16 Army Rovers are draughty as fuck at the best of times. The 'heating' vents don't close properly, the back door is usually a canvas flap, and Ive seen motorbikes with better fitting windows.
Jeremy's would have been fine I think if he'd taken aerodynamics, height and weight distribution into account...and some stabilizing legs wouldn't hurt.
In Jeremys car, I’d hate the corner where you join the A303 from the M3 And those services just outside Andover that they stopped in have a really really short slip road. In my pickup, I can barely get to a reasonable merging speed before I run out of slip road. I would not want to attempt it in the Citroen
I clicked this video because the channel is called Australian Top Gear and I thought there was an Australian version that had managed to find a Richard Hammond lookalike
the irony is, size of that box in the back of Land Rover is more than enough to fit a bed, few small storage units and a kitchen with a function fridge
"why cant we go to France"
Bet Jezza was happy they weren't going to France after the first 2 miles.
"Jezza tower is falling down, falling down, falling down"
Would it even fit on the train for the chunnel?
I can think of one road in France where Jeremy would shit his pants in the block of flats: Les Grands-Goulets
There'd be no way to transport his block of flats there, it's too tall for the Chunnel or for most ferries, he would have to commission a Barge to transport it.
That thing couldn’t even fit in the EuroTunnel train
5:52 = James' laugh here is probably the most memorable in the entire TopGear series
I agree, and Jeremy's laugh at 1:34 is one of my favorites of his ever.
Aye
This clip has some belters from all three of them.
So true! This was the best 100%
Hammond's laugh at the end as well
James May rocking the jeans with holes around the knees, fashion icon.
Those pants and the purple and magenta jumper are bloody iconic for James.
I'll never understand why Richard didn't just make the interior a living space
Well, it's Hammond.
"He's not a bright boy"
@SarkyBegger would have been better than his cardboard and plastic fold-out house
Because they wanted it to look ridiculous
Usually Clarkson is the one who's overly ambitious and his block of flats on a citron was crazy enough, James' idea was actually pretty simple and didn't appear to give him any issues, Hammond's really should have been somewhere in between. Shouldn't he say that last bit like "I just don't know what it's quartering to"?
3:29 "So this gets bigger...a lot bigger, you'll see."
Not the first time Hammond's said that, I'm sure.
That's what she said! :p lol
Dude this comment is fucking funny as hell
And it's not the last time someone was disappointed and laughing at it either
Harv72b I’m sure Mindy heard that before!
That's what she said
Lol, they let Jeremy on the Motorway with that thing? LMAO, classic.
It was probably bellow the height limit
@@matej4439 yeah but he alterd hes car too much doesnt it need a mot and be recertified for road use!,
@@SDeww It is BBC, back then they could do anything.
Well, in germany at least you are allowed to stack whatever you want on top of your car roof, as long as the height stays under 4m and its secured.
First of the citroen is already a car that begs you to roll over but Jeremy went further and stuck a flat on it
The scenes where they take the piss out of each others designs are timeless.
"Why's it got that on it?"
"Stability."
"RUBBISH."
OMG, 5:31-6:01...funniest 30 seconds in Top Gear history. Best shit ever. James May's laugh was wet your pants hilarious.
7:18 never gets old.
In the leaning tower of Citroën, I was starting to relax a bit! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!
richard slowly looking at the camera at 1:15 is always funny
Despite having watched some of the top gear videos multiple times, there is subtle humor still i haven't noticed :D thanks for pointing it out !
5:30 - 6:05 With friends like that, who needs enemies?
With Jeremy you need as many enemies as possible.
"She''s very pretty, she just liked it. She wouldn't go in Hammond's cuz that's stupid!
*GASP* ARGHARGHARGH!"
Schtupid *😂
*James May duck noises intensify*
0:00 Lorry on the right. "Look a penny"
That Shitroen has one of the most beautiful looking dashboards I've ever seen.
The SM looks better still
James: Light and perfect :)
Hammond: Makes me feel cold :/
Jeremy: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! DX
This is why I love these three!
Jeremy: Screaming(James/Hammond: HAHAHAHAHA!!! XD)
James always seems to do the best in challenges
Retro Lad Like the 89 Cadillac in the america special
👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🙃🤣
Retro Lad I notice he does half the time, while in the other half, he thinks too hard on what to do and cocks up as a result. 😆
I like how James doesn't even acknowledge Jeremy's ridiculous choice, as if he's seen all this shit before
"I'm sure Jeremy's done some damn fool thing... right. Carry on."
This never gets old. Comedic genius.
I have to say James laugh in this is extremely infectious
"the leaning tower of Citroen"
Kevin McClarkson
If Jeremy’s “contemplation zone” was removed, his vehicle would be less dangerous
This is one of my favourites. James' got the best design although not good for changing in and out of a wetsuit but still very good. Jeremy's is down right dangerous as it falls over in the night from the wind. And Richard's is just too big and complicated us it took forever to assemble.

Divine thank you
You're a hateful little virgin
Myriad fuck off im married
@@fanimal10 with your right hand?
To this day I will never understand how the hell they got permission to take those things out on the road, let alone the sodding motorway...
Andy Jones I suspect nobody in Britain ever tried something like this before
@@dionwoollaston5717 I suspect tjey just did it.
It's easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.
They must have followed some truck regulations or something?

4:36
The Transit wisely merging over, seeing a Jeremy's monstrosity on the feeder ramp
I wanna see these creations merged whereas Hammond's Land Rover is the base vehicle, but with the use of the "telescopic things" from James' Lotus, it becomes a tower like Jeremy's leaning tower of Citroen. I think it could work.
7:18 : WW2 summed up perfectly
from the french perspective!
LMAO!
"its a win win win"
lists 2 things
lmfao i love it
0:01 - oh a penny! 😂😂😂 one of my favorite TG episodes!
Hammond sort of had the right idea for his vehicle. Insted of having the back having wall slides he could of just made it into the shape it is but static, he would have room for a bed, cooking equiptment and so on. He had a crapper in the passenger side so he would be sorted.
James May's laugh at 5:53 is priceless.
Just an FYI it's series 15 episode 4
Thank you!
1:37 i totally died 😂😂😂
5:52 killed me xD
It's stone... Effect.
Lmaoooo
1:16 When you know this can only go wrong but you kinda want to see it fail spectacularly.
Jeremy .A Doctor of engineering 2 times .Lmao .
*Jeremy rolls up in the leaning tower of Citroen*
Me: alright, he'll declare it to be either brilliant, superb or magnificent
Jeremy: It's superb
I love the way this man speaks
This is among my favourite episodes of Top Gear ⚙️ ever!
7:17 I lost it XDDDDD
*Gasp*
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@@antonioferreira8272 James laughs
Absolutely brilliant- James laugh is fantastic
Bringing the Aussie Top Gear guys in a prison van to the UK top gear was classic
from 7:19 hahahahaaaa Jeremy AAAHHHHHHHH!!! James : HAHAHAHAA (funniest scene ever )
i frigin love how you can see the lorry coming in the mirror at 7:12 ..and jeremy seeis it seconds later and knows whats about to happen instantly

The four horsemen of the apocalypse: Lange Rover, Big Citreon, Lotus with a tin can strapped on it, and Alf
Since learning to drive recently, I appreciate this all the more... because holy fuck would I be terrified to be in Jeremy's position.
I thought all 3 were meant to put a bog in it... so where was Jeremy's?
The moment from 7:18 is absolutely hilarious. Jeremy's frightened face, then James' laugh just made my day :-D
7:18
1:14 I love Hammond's sarcasm here and 1:16 how he looked at camera
Ngl, James' looks comfy and relatively safer than the other's
I love the Citroen CX steering wheel
James stuck the Titan Submarine on top of his Lotus
Like how they included the Grand Designs theme
I cracked when i saw the toilet seat XD
if you watch carefully through this episode a blue volkswagen campervan appears out of shot on several scenes... almost like a subliminal message :D
The Libyans!
Maybe it was the crews or the beetle of this special
its the brake down replacement, if one of their cars broke down they had to travel in the VW
It's following them
Might be the camera crew idk...
6:06 they used the Dark Knight theme😎🔥
Classic, Memories. Legend!!!
1:48 Ah yes that familiar Land Rover Defender door hinge sound
Clarkson: aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
James'laugh was the best ever on Top Gear
This is the best challenge!
Top Gear UK. Great show!!!
This is one of their best 😂
I'm amazed the health and safety guys let Clarkson drive that himself lol
Best challenge ever!
I miss this top gear 😭
the fact that the Grand Designs theme plays at 1:02 after clarkson's Grand Designs reference makes the whole scene better
J: "This is hideous." R: "Its stone... effect."
3:29 My primary chatup line for the ladies eeeeyyyyyyy
Jeremy design is actually quite nice. But he had to ruin it by making it 3 stories tall.
Jeremy's looks absolutely terrifying. lol
I actually think James might be on to something. You still get to drive a sports car, anything you like! And you get to sleep in it.
Japanese contemplation area. Gold
Jeremy's would have been fine I think if he'd taken aerodynamics, height and weight distribution into account...and some stabilizing legs wouldn't hurt.
Richard wit da samurai cop drip
The steering wheel of the citroen is epic

4:35 - Band of Brothers Soundtrack
Forever amazed by clarksons 3 story modern tipsy turvy rig
Awesome show.
I genuinly do not know what richard was thinking for his its absurd 😂😂😂
This should come with a health warning. It hurts so much to laugh that much!
I want to go on a pilgrimage to Fleet services on the M3 and pay my respects. It is holy land now.
ive been looking for thiiiss!!! a lot of the challenge videos on youtube like to cut out the meet up and i have no idea why
loved the toilet seat :D
Can you imagine if Jeremy had to try to drive that thing all the way to France? 😂😂😂
I clicked this video because the channel is called Australian Top Gear and I thought there was an Australian version that had managed to find a Richard Hammond lookalike
the irony is, size of that box in the back of Land Rover is more than enough to fit a bed, few small storage units and a kitchen with a function fridge
I had to look up where in England Cornwall was and man it is really out there hahah
James’s idea might have worked if he made it tall enough like those little two person campers with the external kitchen
Who on the TG crew drove the Blue and White VW Camper? Was nice to see it snuck into many background shots.
This tiny snippet is pure class and more fun than the entire "new" top gear.
yes plz post the rest of this i beg of u :
Richard's done the most "normal" job. Up until he set up for the night.
Hammonds been done dirty in the thumbnail
I really wish they had gone to France in those things, that would be hilarious
Really do like that Lotus
Jeremy’s design would’ve been better if he based it off of a lowered pick up truck with only 1.5 or 2 stories instead of nearly three.
