I built a carp fishing lake in my back garden. Over the past few months i discovered a leak. We tried to repair it twice and failed. But today we see if our final try and fixing the leak once and for all has worked as well as repairing and improving other issues with my backyard pond.

Hi Ben, loving the content, been following since the start. Just one note on Argulus. Utilising pipes as method of control can be effective at reducing their numbers but as I’m sure you would have already been aware that after drying and removing eggs and replacing the pipes, they need to be checked and removed again after 14 days to avoid harbouring and effectively “farming” the Argulus and making more of a problem than it originally was. The presence of Argulus alone shouldn’t cause concern as they’re a naturally occurring parasite of our fish in the UK. They tend to thrive with the warmer conditions of our summers and their numbers will subside come the autumn and winter. This comment is designed incase other fisheries are interested in taking this kind of management on. There’s a collection of fact sheets hosted online if people would like to find out more about this parasite. Keep up the great work!

I hope your carp aren't going to dig at the bottom of your landlock. When I've installed this you drive sheets or boards in the ground 2 or 3 ft from the waters edge first.
You could be back in the same situation in no time at all.
Be good to finally fish after watching it being built
Take a look at BP Millings natrepel for your argulus problem alongside the plastic pipes. Works a treat when applied as a top dressing for your feed pellet

Hey mate , I had a problem with a section of bank erroding before and I planted Alfalfa.. its a great plant to help stop erosion , roots can go as deep as 20 feet and are net like ✌️

Unless the matting is on the bed wave action will undermine it. Install boards 10 feet from the bank at water level. Carp dig for food.

Drain it dig it deeper an ramax in every 150mill of fresh clay at least 8 complete passes over whole area you need one of them machines that pack land fills in to harden the ground enough to seal it properly needs to be done in good weather which is impossible in england
