In this video we will show and explain what a cracked TV screen is, your options for repair, and some of the best ways to dispose of your TV, if you decide not to repair it. Here at Shopjimmy.com we do not sell replacement screens or TV panels. If your TV is not working correctly, and is showing an image on the screen, that looks like the one in this video, then you most likely have a cracked TV screen.
A cracked TV screen can be caused by many different things. Some of them include hitting the screen with an item, a controller, a ball or something else of that nature. Or a common way of damaging the screen is also by dropping the TV while other moving it or installing it.
If your screen is cracked, there is no way to repair the existing TV screen, you would have to replace the TV panel.
Replacing the TV panel can be very difficult and it is recommended that you hire a professional with experience and training.
Acquiring the exact TV panel that you need for replacement can sometimes be difficult.
If you are searching for a replacement TV panel, you will want to search your TV panel number online to see if there are replacements available. These TV panels can also sometimes be very expensive and can cost up to 80% of the price you paid for the TV originally.

You can also simply do an internet search for "recycle my TV" and see what pops up in your area.

@@lawrencehan5815 I guess it depends on how the TV is put together. I have a 42 inch LG in my basement and a replacement screen is $31. They call it a "cabinet".

Hello shop jimmy i have a Samsung 46" LCD tv and was wondering if you know where i can get replacement florescent lamps for the backlight because currently i have fully functioning tv with no light. I've searched everywhere i can possibly think of but all i find are LED backlight replacement but never LCD florescent lamp replacements. Please help me and offer some advice.
I have a 60 inch Samsung plasma model #PN58C590G4F that we came across. The screen or cover not sure which is cracked .When you power on you hear a crackel and the sound but that's it no picture the red stand by light flickers then off.

Hi ShopJimmy, thanks for the video. My Vizio LED TV cracked while shipping. Even though the crack is only in the bottom part of the display, the entire display is non-functional (black with lines). Why does that happen? Why isn't the damage localized? Is there anything I can do to "activate" the rest of the display?

I have a 47 inche vizeo e470vl it has a bad IR connection clip been hot. It's got sound and with flashlight can see images, no backlight, I did the power cycle reset with holding power button 30 seconds and plug it up turn it on and have backlight and picture for a few seconds and it kicks back off to black screen and sound.

Can the panel be broken even without a crack? We have a 60” vizio and seemed like the back light went out. Sound with no picture. Just stopped working one day. No damage was done to the tv.

Seriously, I'm in the same boat. I had an LED strip go bad on my 65" TCL Roku and despite being extremely careful, my LCD cracked when removing it. TCL glued it in along the top edge and there was no way to remove without it cracking.
I've going to run my new one with the backlight brightness turned way down - hopefully that will extend the life. I only got 18 months out of my first one.

Looks like I get to add yet another TV to my shooting range. Its the only other use I have for them. Have a few big screens but this 65" is the best and oldest. Going to be be hard to enjoy shooting it but ill try.
