Good morning ☕️ we really appreciate that, thank you. The part number will be on a sticker or placard located inside the tv on the inner back side of screen/panel.
You will need to carefully remove back/rear panel to gain access to inner tv. Once inside, you will see all the tv parts including Main Board, Power Board, ribbon wiring, and more.
You can then get your screen/panel part number. 👍☕️
Very well done. No extraneous editorializing or tangents taken. Just the right amount of "take care when . . . " comments.

I have an LG 65 inch 4k TV. Crack in the screen. Is this available for replacement and is it worth it
I am glad I came across your video before throwing out my 65-inch! I looked everywhere and even called around to see if I could get my screen replaced. I was told the TV was garbage once the screen broke. It's a very small crack due to my son hitting it with something. It put vertical and horizontal lines on parts of the tv. It looked like your broken TV. So again thank you.
You are very welcome, and we are honored our video was helpful. Thank you for taking the time out of your Tuesday to share this.

It is just mind blowing to see how incredibly simple today's TV's are, and that they have so few components. Back in the old days with the old TV's, I recall we used to have lots of pay TV channels in our area. The pay channel video signals were basically normal, with the exception of the horizontal sync pulses being offset from their proper location, thus leading to a somewhat scrambled picture on the TV screen. But for about $6 in parts, including the home made PCB, I designed a circuit that fixed that pesky little horizontal sync pulse bug when detected, and of course I installed the PCB assembly into my TV. LOL

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, modern TV’s seem to definitely have less parts than back then.
That’s awesome and very creative that you designed a feature to be added to your setup to alleviate issues.
😁👍🧰
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders At one point my boss at work suggested I try and sell my Pay TV decoder design to the cable company. They turned it down due to its simplicity, even though it also provided a 6db signal to noise improvement in the video quality compared to their decoder video quality. They said that because my design was so simple, so small in size, so inexpensive, and that it required less than 15mA on the 12vdc power line, it would be far too easy to be copied and installed in either TV's, or most of all, copied and placed within TV converters.

Great video! I have a cracked Samsung 75 in tv screen but the tv also goes on and off every few seconds when it’s plugged in. Is it worth trying to replace the screen or is there a problem in addition to the cracked screen? Cause if it’s more than just the screen, I’d rather not buy a replacement one if another issue needs to be fixed as well. Thanks for your time!
Good morning ☕️
It’s always worth looking into a panel replacement price. 75” replacement panels can get pretty pricey though. The shipping and freight can be an annoying fee, but not always.
In regards to your TV turning on and off, that usually stems back to an issue with the remote.

Excellent instructional video. Impressive that you did the majority of the job one handed while holding the camera in the other hand. I don't understand why people who make these videos don't use a head mount type of camera to keep both hands free to do the job.
Do you have an instructional video on how to remove just the screen cover of my Samsung if possible. Something got on the inside of the screen so it cannot be cleaned off without accessing the backside of the front clear plastic screen cover. I removed those perimeter Philips screw but the front screen didn't come off so I stopped there.
Thanks in advance.

Where do you find the model number for the panel? Once I take the back cover off, there’s multiple different numbers on stickers or engraved directly into the chassis. I don’t know which one is the number for the panel itself, and none that I’ve searched are bringing up proper parts.

Does the crack look more like an impact point as ours does in our video? If so, it’s likely that you will need to replace your panel.
However, if it’s just a vertical line or horizontal line, your panel should still be good.
Starting with a friendly cleaning of all the internal electrical connections and electrical boards is good. Below is a helpful link showing us cleaning the internal portion of our TV and inspecting all the parts.

Thanks for the reply, replacement panels can get pretty pricey.
Hi... Could one have vertical lines on a TV if the screen gets shaken and the layers inside becomes un-aligned?... I once became aware that they are plastic layers inside the panel that must be perfectly aligned, am I right?.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. If tv is shaken, internal parts can likely become loose leading to vertical lines.
It’s very possible that it’s as simple as removing the back panel and re-securing any loose connections. Below is a link to our video showing us performing an inspection as well as a friendly cleaning.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Sorry to bother u but if the settings/ numbers >> brightness, contrast, sharpness etc, are set too high can it damage the system or cause lines... I am not a technician but I'm just curious.
@@st.clairworrell8758
No bother at all, us DIYers need to stick together!!! Those specific settings are unlikely to cause issues however if tv is set to full bright for 10+ years, an LED or two might burn out. However that would not cause vertical lines, it would cause part of the panel to be darker in that area.
What’s the screen number to look it up, I have the exact same tv as yours I just don’t want to open it before I get the new screen
Thanks for watching, we appreciate you reaching out to us. We definitely understand not wanting to open TV up however in order to 100% ensure that you get the exact replacement screen/panel for your exact TV, we recommend removing back panel and gaining access to the internal part number sticker.
This again will ensure you get the exact replacement for your exact TV. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the follow up. Other than that website, did your search the web to see if a different site sells replacement panel that matches your part number?
That's awesome and don't know why TV companies charge more than TV for replacement screen and just end up increasing landfill waste
That’s true, and good morning. Just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community.

Where did you order your TV screen panel
Great video. Thank you. I have 4 tvs of different makes. Is there any compatibility between the makes. It has been suggested to me that many come from the same factory. Is that right?? Dave
Thanks for watching & reaching out to us Dave, we can’t say with confidence.
We haven’t tried interchangeable replacement in the past. Please keep us posted.

Can we use a screen/panel for another TV with the same size & brand?
Vizio VW42L HDTV10A for Vizio E420i-A0?
Your response would be much appreciated.
Thanks for watching & we have had viewers mention that they have done this & it worked. We haven’t personally tried it. Keep us posted on your project.
Did you pay extra $$ for the new screen? It's pre-mounted to the frame, so all you have to do is remove the main components/ cables from the old TV. Can you get just the screen? There is more work involved when replacing just the screen. Also, did you have to return the defective / old screen? So that new replacement screen was around $400- $500? As the TVs get older, the cost of replacement screens should drop, but how long should you wait? It's more cost effective to buy a new TV! Our disposable technology. Great video on your Samsung! Most Samsung phone replacement screens come pre-mounted to the matching frame, so it's easier to replace a bad cellphone screen! I got a hold of a Vizio 50" 4K TV, & an LG 43" 4K TV. The Vizio works but the screen is messed up (worse than yours!) The LG, may be a backlight problem, but also has a small damaged spot. So, is it really worth replacing the screen, when a new one is cheaper?
Good morning, we are drinking our morning coffee answering any and all questions for the DIY community.
We were more interested in the panel as a whole mounted to frame. It’s possible to get just the replacement screen.
You will need to purchase just the screen replacement from manufacturer in most cases. Checking the manufacturer parts website is best route, or visiting:

You’re spot on, the older the tv gets, the cheaper the replacement screens get. Please keep us posted on your DIY project. 👍

It’s possible that chatting with their customer support team, they can find you a replacement panel however if not, ask them if there’s a place they recommend looking next.

The best thing to do is remove the TVs back panel to gain access to the internal part number sticker located on the aluminum panel.
