Blessings and greetings from Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic. I have met lots of women who went through these things and they're free now by God's grace and mercy.

My last experience with a church was that they don’t have time for woundedness. Hurry up and heal and get to work. There is work to be done.

"They strengthen the hands of the wicked" is what comes to mind - even participated. I had overlapping trauma and I remember saying, I can't separate the pain.. multiple different forms of trauma; it was like a conspiracy, honestly. The abuse that I endured at home was ignored by leadership for years. They said, submit to your husband in everything and by your good behavior, you'll win him over without a word.. where in the Bible is the teaching of STONEWALLING? They had a conflict of interest - it's much like couverture. A woman's married name is a man's DBA - literally at the county recorder's office!

I love her so much. A bit off the topic of sexual abuse, but when it comes to trauma, the one thing I have yet to see in the church is acknowledging the trauma that occurs post-abortion. Abortion is never mentioned in the list of PTSD... ever. It's a woman's RIGHT... so there is no voice given to those who grieve. It is sexual-trauma to girls and women and the grief and shame that attaches to so many women never goes away. Just a thought that I think Dr. Langberg could be a voice to.
