Whilst this isn't the type of female terminal I'm needing to work with, it is an excellent display of the depinning and repining and thanks for the way you presented the task.
I’m kinda surprised this is the only video I was able to locate on this exact procedure yet it’s also the only one needed. Well done!! In my case, I ordered a replacement fan for a Dell D630 and it didn’t run. Tested the fan and it worked. Noticed it was pinned differently than the original despite being the same part number. I’d bet a metric f-ton of CPU fans are tossed due to this.
The only video I could find on this and it saved my day! A simple wire swap saved buying a whole new wire and having to wait a month for it! Thank you so much 🙌
You just saved me US$24-$49.99 for the FPV cable/camera kit. My power wire broke out so I found your video, pulled out the lead, went to a watch repair person and they fixed the wire for me as well as reinserted it. Cost me TT$20 0r US$3. Thanks a heap...great instructive video.
Wow, it is a little easier than I thought. I was putting them in upside down thinking that they then needed turned. I destroyed 3 connectors and tore the wire off by twisting.. I appreciate your help. Thanks for taking the time to show others the correct way to insert the pins.
I went through a dozen or so videos just now trying to find one that actually had the style of connector that I was dealing with. Then anther 8 or so auto played while I was working. Of that sample size of 20, your video was the *only* one in focus. It also appeared to be the only bench top video that didn't use auto-focus. And then you cut to the microscope camera... mind effing blown. If I was into micro rc stuff I'd subscribe in a heartbeat. As it is I hope to never have to dork around with the connector on a lipo battery again. :) Thanks a ton for the great tutorial on how to fix the polarity on these... just saved my weekend.
Very informative on wire removal technique and in such a short video too. Answered two questions I had at once. Being an fpv quad pilot and needing to swap camera plugs, I checked FPV videos, of course. Looked for an hour til I broadened my search and found this. I need more videos like this, to the point, where it's simple tips without someones opinions for an hour and 5 minutes of actual tutorial.
This is a lifesaver thank you. I was disassembling my G Pro X superlight and pulled the black wire out! Thought I was going to have to wait weeks for a new battery or something but this way I can at least figure out how to fix it myself!!!!
Thanks for this video. Helped me reuse a "picoblade" connector that was slightly different than all the other 2 pin connectors I have found on 30mm fans.
Brilliant. I was about to bail until you popped up the micro view. So so helpful while I'm rewireing some flipsky connections where they change connectors so NOTHING is plug n play. In fairness, they do include enough extra cabling to hook it up - once you understand how to R&R the individual leads. Thanks so much!
I was going to build an arcade stick with a 3 pin led capable pcb but only needed 2 cables for each button, knowing i can take the unused cables out while keeping the 3 pin connectors without damaging the cables is great, since i can save them in case i want to buy led buttons in the future. Thx a lot for the info.
Great video! My first attempt hacked up the connector, but I'm sure I'll get better with practice. I keep connectors from boards I don't use so I can scavenge connectors with the wires already attached. It pays to be a horder sometimes! Thanks again! regards, NS.
Yes I upgraded my Tinyhawk Freestyle with a Foxeer Razer Nano 1200TVL. It really makes a difference. I'm doing more upgrades at present and will be uploading videos maybe in February.
would you know the pin out for fpv connector which is yellow, red and black in that order on a (JST SH I think). It is off a JXD JD509 FPV quadcopter. The quadcopter is damaged and I want to reuse the camera as it is still working as na fpv on another copter. Much appreciate your help
Thanks very much for this! It took some time to identify the type of connector I had, and therefore what sort of thing to Google for, but found this eventually. Very helpful! :o) Even using Blu-Tack was a great idea!
Are there special tools made to install these wires/connection into the 4 pin connectors? I have fat fingers and I need to build a lot of them. I know you used needle nose pliers but they can mangle the wire sometimes.
The problem you are describing is the results of the crimping. In most cases we squeeze the crimp tool too hard and it deforms the pin and or sleeve. This deformity prevents the pin from sliding in. In all actuality the pin slides in with minimal effort if the crimp is done correctly.
hi, thanks for the video. do you know if the contact for a molex 5264 and contacts for a XH 2.54 are the same please? i have a new battery with a XH connector but i need to have a molex 5264 (that's the female connector on the circuit board), so i wanted to know if i can simply pull the wires out of one and pop them into the molex connector? thank you
I wish I had your eyes. Mine are not very good anymore since I was diagosed with gloucoma. I do have some good magnifier lenses though. What kind of pin did you use to lift up that plastic tab? Is it just a sewing needle. I bought some stepper motor wires and acording to the reviews on Amazon the two middle wires need to be swapped so they will work on my Creality 3D printer.
Hey man.. The end of the wire.. You have a metal finish on it.. I dont know how its called.. I want to buy some from banggood.. Can u pls tell me the name of this metal thing?! Tks a lot!
I pulled a wire out of the pin by accident. trying to solder the wire back to the pin. if that doesn't work I'll need new pins. I need a giant magnifier too lol
Lovely effort. Watching a 8 year old still relevant today

If your wire is dislodged from the crimp and you want to re-crimp, what size JST crimp are they and how to find out?

I was actuallu here for the rewiring, when you pull it out and need to change the cable, its not easy ... what do you need to get that job done easily
Nice and ez replacement!
Very useful ! Thanks

I'm not sure about this but I don'y think the pin sockets are conpatible. you just need to try it i guess
Thanks! !

Yes i just use plain old needles. just make sure you don't lift the plastic stopper too much.
cheers bro sorted
Can i wire my 2pin adapter to a 4pin adapter using just the 2 wires ( black & red ) to the 4pin ? Pls help
You could do that just leaving the other 2 wires out.
HI,
What is the paste with which you stick the connector to the work surface ?
Thanks
It's jusr BluTack. Called other thinks in different countries. Its the stuff used to attach posters to walls.
Does it matter what order they are in? I need make a 2 pin to 4 pin connector for my broadcom adapter
The connectors are all the same so they can be inserted anywhere.
