Reportedly, staff at the US Embassy 3 miles away recorded the sound level reaching the embassy at 96dB, and over 126k concertgoers ended up being treated for hearing loss after the concert.
I have watched quite a few videos of The Monsters of Rock concert in Moscow 1991 and I think my favourite has to be Metallica, doing Enter Sandman, Creeping Death and Fade to Black among others. James Hetfield (guitar and vocals) Kirk Hammett (lead guitar), Jason Newstead (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Lars Ulrich (drums), Metallica is one of my favourite bands! I do love watching this reaction with you, Anthony and Black Pegasus, it's brilliant. Absolutely amazing concert with also AC/DC, Pantera and The Black Crowes among others, 1.6 million people in attendance, a mind-boggling number, this was a truly remarkable, historic moment in rock history. 😊😊
I believe The Sandman was supposed to be the one who filled the eyes of children with sand to make them heavy so they would go to sleep. 'Exit Light, Enter Night', time to sleep, just ignore those things you imagined under your bed or in your closet, they are only in your head. Loved the reactions, enjoy both of you on your respective channels.
I LOVE it when the Solider was getting with it! ❤❤❤ I think 5 or 6 people died (which from the looks of it, it's a Miracle more didn't) that day from dehydration in which I give them recognition for it and hope they are Happy in Peace!
They've said that the helicopters were for security, but they were also going overhead to down draft some cooler air because it's so packed. I'd lose my ever loving mind in a crowd 1/16th that size
I went and seen Metallica live. I think it was in 1989. I was right up front. I lost my hearing for like an entire week. It was still one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. I can’t imagine being at that concert in Moscow.
I was 21 years old when this happened. I seen Metallica in concert GnR and Faith No More around the same time. You got to find the interview where they talk about that experience.
All I can think of is that most big bands play for 15.000 to 70.000 people. I have been on stage when 12.000 people screamed and that was scary. Imagine what was going through this guys heads when they where told the amount of people that was there. I shit my pants!
Just the knowledge that before the iron curtain fell - Western Music, music like this kind of metal, was banned. This was such a big deal. It makes me so happy every time I watch it - it’s not just about the music, it’s that they finally had a little freedom - freedom just to see a rock concert. Something most people in the US would take for granted. Imagine living most of your life not even allowed to listen to certain kinds of music. My husband worked for the Justice Department back in the early 80’s. I am not clear on why it occurred but he went into East Berlin for a work related thing. He got to talk to a couple people while there - not many - one guy told him he had family approx a mile or so away but they were in West Berlin. He hadn’t been able to see or talk with his family for 30 years. He just said - ‘see that wall? For me - that’s the end of the earth’. His whole world was cut down to a small area because of a wall and the Cold War. How many people lived and died behind the curtain and never got to reconnect to their families, never got to hear some different music?
Mikhail Gorbachev, who worked with President Reagan to bring down the Berlin Wall, was the President of the USSR until the end of 1991. Vladimir Putin’s presidency changed Russia’s direction that led to musical acts to cease entertainment in Russia because of his political views ambitions. Just wanted to provide a tidbit of insight into the change of Russian politics. ✌🏽
Not only was this concert massive, and had huge implications after the fall of the Soviet Union, but it was also a FREE concert for the Russian people. Metallica, regardless of anyone's opinion on them and their music, are fuckin' legends for doing that.
it is exit light not exit life. it means thrown the light out and go to sleep and have nightmares. and it is also gripping your pillow tight not ripping your pillow tight.
If you want to watch a FANTASTIC Small Documentary. View IRON MAIDEN.."BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN" Back in 1984-85.... You will see plenty of Soldiers.... Great stuff...
Never seen BP so crazy excited 😂

Team Human FTW!!
You two are my favorites. I watch both channels. Especially love the Classic Rock reactions... my Era of music 70s & 80s. Have a great day!
I remember when this happened. Been blessed to live during many ‘Firsts”❤ I was 18 and so happy it happened.

Man that is a crazy crowd for the time! Don't think there has been a crowd that big since!

I found this channel because I watch BP and I just love these two together. Definitely need more of you two together
The line is "exit LIGHT enter NIGHT" just means it got dark and its time to go to sleep.

This song is used by many college football teams for their intro music, which might by why you recognize it.
Thought BP was about to blow a gasket a couple times on that reaction 🤣
You guys are fun together.
While I love this performance of this song, there is no doubt that creeping death is the master performance from this concert.

The inspiration for this song is dark, SIDS, every parents nightmare.

Sandman puts sand in your eyes (the crusty bits when you wake). lol
Growing up Popeye was my hero so I love your jacket!!
I agree with you on the idea that we are all human beings… if you look beyond the current narrative.

They weren't the only ones that played that day fellas!.
Have you heard of ACDC!?.
I know you have!.😅
Obviously it's a MUST!.👍
If governments would leave people alone and stop the propaganda we would all be just fine! And we would all get along and love each other!

The band members from Jinjer haven't been able to go home since 2014 when Russia first invaded.
You gotta do Creeping Death from this concert. Do it
