  • Hi all,
Today we are continuing on our Lotus Flower quilt and we are going to let the custom quilting continue with the background and border. I love the way this quilt turned out and you can see, it's really not that hard. Like in the last video, custom quilting takes time and that is why it's more expensive to do. I am going to really use my Reposition Nudge and my Rotate Nudge to help me get these designs placed as good as possible. In this video, I have to use a lot of the resize function too. You can see, they are not perfect at all, but they look great in the end. Don't stress the small stuff, have fun and you can do it too.
I was tempted to cut out some of the process because the video is so long, but I really wanted you to get the feel of doing a super custom project. It's not something you just load and stitch, they take time but the end result is always worth it. I hope you have enjoyed this series and I'm always around if you have questions.
Again, a BIG THANK YOU to Connecting Threads and Quiltable (remember code "asf10" will save you an additional 10% off your purchase) for sponsoring this video.

This was encouraging as I thought being a new to ProStitcher user I was the only one who spent so much time moving things, rotating, and resizing! Love it!

Adam, I consider myself pretty PS savvy but I seriously thought I was doing something wrong because i have to do so much tweaking when I custom quilt with PS designs. Thanks for the video series. For the most part I do things the same way as you, which was really reassuring, but I picked up some very useful tips for my toolbox.
I also struggle with leaving the zoom on (I even taped over it so I’d stop touching it!). I noticed the other day that Designer has an option to automatically turn off zoom. We really need that feature in PS too!
    Thanks again.

I watched this and was so excited to try it on a custom quilt I am doing. I had lots of triangle designs in the odd angles and it worked so nicely. I have my PS set to tie off before and after a design but there were skips in the traveling to the next one etc. Once all done, it looked beautiful but when I was clipping the thread where it did the skips on the back the design would many times unravel. What have a I done wrong? I am going back and ripping out those areas that are unraveling and re-stitching them. Do you have any words of wisdom? Thanks. Love your videos.

So are you moving the handle bars when you are dragging and dropping? I usually use my finger but however you are moving looks way easier

Could you have transferred your area to designer and adjusted the points to fit there?

Yes, that would be a very good option. I wanted to show how for people who don’t use Designer.
