Adam, thank you for a great video! A quick question, if you have your top fabric basted to the batting and backing, can you just remove the top bar and pt it aside out of your way?
I never remove the top bar. If you look at the relationship between the two bars and how the affect the quilt, you will notice the top bar pushes the top down to be level with the idle bar. I want to make sure evening is level and parallel to the ground, especially since I have a lot of puffy batting, the quilt would be at a weird angle and probably lead to some tension issues and thread breakage.
Maybe I missed this in one of your earlier videos, but is there a reason you basted left to right? I noticed that my HQ Amara prefers to stitch left to right. I have only had her a few months and didn’t know if it was me or if that’s just how they work.
The machines are engineered to stitch from left to right. They don’t really like to stitch a straight line from right to left. If you have a design that flows, right to left is ok, it’s just the straight lines that might cause issues.
Prostitcher patterns might have some wholecloth quilts that might fit. If you have PS Designer, you can go in and edit patterns to help them fit. You can also just decrease the size to make sure the largest parts will fit in your space but I think in this case it would be very small.
You are the best. I love love love your vidoes
Thank you for showcasing my designs Adam! I can't wait to meet you in person.
Super idea using the versa tool to hold down the edge for basting! I will have to remember to do that!
Love watching where this is going. Learned about grid basting so that was helpful, thank you. I will be looking for the next video.
Chris, at this point, I wouldn’t think there is much to learn for you. You are always so helpful on the social platforms! Thanks for being fabulous 😉
You never cease to amaze 💖🙏🙏

@@adamsewfun. Thank you for replying. I am not a very experienced quilter so I was not aware of that. I am looking forward to more of your videos.
