    We used to have a 930 ck, that had a 970 engine swapped into it, it worked really good

    Plumb the second through a flow control to your front steering unit. ..no more squealing belt!

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  3 роки тому

      That would work too but our power steering pump is still good.

    Thanks for sharing. Do you have a video on the engine swap? The 1030 was a good tractor as long as you kept the loads light. The rear end was a little weak.

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  3 роки тому +1

      I dont actually. We bought her swapped like this. We just pull the same size equipment that a normal 1030 would but a little faster. Lugging them on bigger equipment is what caused the rear end issues.

    Like your videos. We run 2 970,s a 1570 ,2670 and 2294. They're all in good shape and get regular use. We started last year running a 970 on our gt batch dryer with the 1000 shaft so engine rpm is only 950. Is that ok?

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  Рік тому +1

      As long as you aren't bogging the tractor down a ton I think it would be fine there. I imagine a grain dryer doesn't take a ton of power. If it's a power shift make sure the powershift lever is not in reverse while running stationary.

      This is what I've been able to find on the internet as far as how to get to it to service the filter.
      BELOW the PTO shaft and just above the rear hydraulic system drain plug is a circular cover with three bolts around the perimeter and a threaded plug in the center. That's the hydraulic system filter cover. You undo the three bolts, pry the cover loose with a screwdriver--there are little insets on two corners of the housing to let you do this, because otherwise it will seem fused to the main casting--and pull out the filter assembly.
      The filter itself is a simple open cylinder, like an oversized toilet-paper tube. It can be cleaned in diesel fuel and re-used, and will almost certainly be heavily covered in gunk.
      If you shine a flashlight through the hole, toward the front and to your left as you look in, you'll see the end of the suction tube coming down to within about an inch of the reservoir bottom. The filter hole is big enough for a pretty good-sized hand to pass through to work on the screen end. You can't take the screen out without disassembling the back end of the tractor--but you can reach in and pick debris off the screen, flush repeatedly with diesel, squirt with carb cleaner, and so forth. You won't be able to SEE whether you're doing any good, but you should be able to tell by feel that you've got most of the debris off the screen.
      When you've done everything you can do with that screen, mop out the floor of the reservoir carefully with paper towels to pick up anything that would just suck up into the screen again; reassemble your newly cleaned filter; and bolt the housing back on. You'll probably have to use some Form-a-Gasket as you will probably have damaged the gasket in removal. Refill with appropriate hydraulic/transmission fluid, and start 'er up.

    Excellent video, did this take care of your 3 pt lifting issues? . We have a 930 that doesn’t want to lift, or how do you check the lift and the draft valves

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  3 роки тому +1

      It did not fix the 3pt lift but it greatly helped the remotes. We know our 3pt lift cylinder needs resealing.
      I'm not as familiar with the 30 series for 3pt but I would check on yesterday's tractor for article on that. They have alot of good stuff on there.

    I WISH I HAD YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO WORK ON A FEW LITTLE THINGS ON MY 1960 CASE 730 DIESEL STANDARD
    I REALLY LIKE THE TRACTOR POWER STERING WOULD BE NICE AND HAS SOME BLOW BY
    SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE BLOW BY IT ONLY HAS BREATHERS ON THE VALVE COVER
    ARE THE CASE 1030'S WITH THE HIGH AND LOW SHIFTER ON THE DASH ANY GOOD I THOUGHT I WOULD STAY AWAY AND WAIT FOR
    ONE LIKE MY 730 ALL THE GEARS ARE ON ONE SHIFTER OR HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR BUYING A 1030 GOOD ONE THAT SHIFTS HIGH AND LOW ON THE DASH

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  3 роки тому

      All 1030s are dual range that I've seen. As long as it keeps good oil pressure I wouldnt be too concerned about the blow by. The dual range transmissions are good.

    Nice videos 💪Im working on a case 1175 and metal shavings keep spilling from the hydraulic pump and other hoses and I honestly don’t know what it is. Do you think its the filter, transmission, or hydraulic pump?

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  4 роки тому +1

      My guess would be the hydraulic pump is going bad. I would take it out and see if it has much play in the drive coupling. Either in and out or forward and reverse.

    • @farmingwithjunk1848
      @farmingwithjunk1848  4 роки тому +1

      Now that I've thought about it for a few days you could have chipped some gears in the transmission too. I'd start by checking the pump then changing the fluid and filter. If it doesn't clear up some in an oil change or 2 with some intermittent running then you probably have a messed up gear inside.

      There are 3 trans filters. I'm not sure exactly where they are. I'd find a parts book for your year of tractor because they changed through the years. If it's later model there should be two drain plugs on the center line on the bottom of the transmission. Not sure where they are on an earlier one.

    • @farmingwithjunk1848

      It's rather difficult to get to. You have to pull the pto housing off. You could try blowing air or diesel and air down the line going into the pump from the screen. ( the one I made the collar for).
