The Planet of the Apes reboots are what all reboots should aspire to be. It was probably a hard sell to create completely new characters for this one, but Caesar is honestly one of the only truly iconic characters that has been created post 2010.
Maybe the lesson is: Not every great franchise needs to have rabid fans. Maybe it's best for a franchise to just carve it's own niche and not have a billion fans talking about them all the time. We've seen the damaged done to Star Wars and the MCU because of it. It gets to be successful and take it's time for each movie. 3 years between the reboot movies really makes you appreciate everything.
I agree with you, but unfortunately the laws of capitalism do not. Unless there are hoards of fans the movies you’re referring to won’t get made in the first place. It’s not a movie but a series, but just look at Andor. Possibly the greatest piece of Star Wars storytelling since the original Empire and its beloved by a loyal following of fans - but it doesn’t have mass appeal because frankly it came along too late. Most casual fans had given up on Star Wars by then. I think it’ll die too soon for that reason. We’ll see a S2, maybe a S3, but I’m willing to bet the story won’t be given a chance to unfurl as intended. It’ll be cut down too soon. All because the mass of rabid fans isn’t there.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite movies, period. Everyone talks about how Andy Serkis deserved award recognition but what about Toby Kebbel?? Koba is one of the best antagonists of this century.
Toby did such an amazing job as Koba. Caesar acts very human a lot of the time - Toby had to become a wild, violent animal who is as intelligent and nuanced as a human being. Insane
Both times that I viewed Rise in theaters, when Caesar shouts "NO!" just like how the music dies off immediately, the air got sucked out of the room. I have never heard a theater so suddenly quiet... and it happened twice, followed by cheers when Caesar fought back. A great scene.
On God I wish I'd been at a theater for it's premiere. But I found it a little later and absolutely it's still so good. The sign language being so integral really had me thinking that they wouldn't speak.
Find it funny how filmmakers want us to support apes over our own kind, why we celebrating human traitor propaganda for some talking monkeys that don’t exist?
IMO, War for The PoTA got robbed in the VFx Oscar category. Yes, the previous movies were nominated, but I was hoping 3rd times the charm because the attention to detail from the face cracks to the fur was insane.
I think his monologue about the inevitability of human extinction prevents his character from becoming one note villain, despite still being a major douche in the movie
@ joelinden1482 Thanos? Cmon man are we not all a but more cultured here? I think you maybe meant (unless you are too young to even know…) COLONEL KURTZ vibes. If you don’t know who and why I’m saying that.. you need to broaden your horizons. “War of the…etc” even has numerous easter eggs alluding to his character being heavily inspired by Kurtz. Not to mention to movie itself… *ape-ocalypse now* graffiti in the tunnels …. Couldn’t be more obvious lol.
@@thebigpicture2032 i feel theres much more complexity to his performance of Ceasar Throughout the trilogy u can see how he transforms from ape to "human" and the change is so sutil, I loved it! I don know how Kingdom is going to do without him, butbIm gonna watch it this weekend
I like Ceasar's initial "NO" in hindsight because it comes just after Malfoy gives the iconic line. It's almost like the movie was teeing up a boring reboot, and Ceasar was not having it. It's like he was saying to the audience. "You're not getting that kind of movie."
Several reasons. 1) it’s not one of the existing “ too big to fail” corporate IPs. 2) you can’t see the majority of its stars as themselves, which brings the parasocial relationship with the actor aspect 3) it’s best works came before the era when we only followed films because they’re viral or seen as an “ event” from corporate marketing. The Reeves trilogy is some of the greatest studio work in decades, and some of the best work on the 2010s, but it was out when a lot of us were just kids who only watched cartoons. We like to pretend we’re very curious consumers, but as a people, we’re really not. We mostly give our money to the safe, sterilized options.
Andy needs so many awards at this point. He's one of the most talented actors and gets shafted at award shows cause his work is still seen as non-standard.
I enjoyed the ideas and the spectacle of the original series. In my opinion, the Caeser Trilogy is the best example of a Reimagining, which balances taking a fresh approach while using the most evocative imagery, musical cues, names, and themes from the original. Also, I saw Kingdom otPotA yesterday; I think it's a worthy successor, and I hope this is the beginning of a new trilogy. Apes. Together. Strong.
This is my favorite modern franchise. I don’t even know why, but I’ve loved every one of these movies. I had no idea this movie was even coming out until a week ago.
I think the lesson here is that not all movies need to make 800+ million dollars. You can still make great movies that are more niche and turn a profit.
@@teranmm "I'll field this one. As long as they don't send us to that horrible Planet of the Apes!" Fortunately, this wasn't a spoiler for me once I was able to catch the 30th anniversary airing on A&E hosted by Roddy McDowell...
The biggest thing with the reboot trilogy is that it reminded you that these were actually apes, and not ape-humanoids that it seemed to become by 2001, as they forgot that in 1968, people in ape masks was the best options they had, but in the 21st century we have the capability to show actual apes thru cgi and other special effect techniques (though admittedly these were still in their infancy in 2001)

I love this trilogy and I just don't understand why they are so underappreciated.
Some ideas as to why: the Mark Wahlberg version tarnished the brand. The CGI apes are a little uncanny valley. Watching talking apes for hours is kind of boring because they're not as relatable as human beings.
Intelligent and thought provoking Sci-fi is not the norm. Even though I am not a fan of the Apes franchise, I respect it. Comic Book movies are not Sci-fi, Star Trek has been dumbed down, and Star Wars has become Disneyized. Thought provoking movies don't get a lot of praise today: 2001 - A Space Odyssey, Star Trek - the Motion Picture, both Blade Runners, Interstellar. The recent Dune movies are good, but much of the book is not in these adaptations. Ghost in the Shell was whitewashed because producers believe that Americans would not relate to philosophical Anime .. Need mindless action. RedLetterMedia said it perfectly. Average movies do well, because most audiences are average. Until movies are decentralized and cheap, we are going to be stuck with average movies.
Allow me. The first movie was embraced by what became the Alt Right, like the "Paul Kersey" guy who was running the "Stuff Black People Don't Like" blog. The movie assumed that intelligence was a measureable and immutable aspect of the physical brain. It also had a research head, who happened to be Black, very interested in changing the brain, to increase intelligence. Unstated, but noted by "Kersey" (and other alert watchers): Black intelligence. The second movie, perhaps embarrassed at this fanbase, went and created an antigun parable. Couldn't tell you about the third movie; I didn't bother with it.
Imo it’s because as well written and visually incredible as it is…there’s something about it that’s not super memorable. We have the moment where Caesar says “NO!” and the moment where Koba rides through flames on horseback with a machine gun and then…that’s kinda it. The score is…fine. It’s not a story you can really market to kids or families. It’s not an epic with big moments like the MCU or LOTR. The original movie was decades ago so the novelty and newness has worn off. POTA is a quiet, contemplative, confident, and character driven trilogy. Without the incredible CGI, Im unsure if this trilogy would stay in the zeitgeist as long as it has.
Just watched the kingdom and we got another solid franchise starter - hope it grows into more movies, excited where the story gets us and I think it’s the best bait to make people want to watch the reboot trilogy (which is a pure gem) Win on win on win
Are the modern Apes films underrated? Yes, but there is a beauty to that. I wouldn't want this franchise whored out & cannibalizing itself like Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, or Modern Star Trek. There's beauty in a series of consistantly good/great films that speaks for itself.
It’s actually refreshing that they even took time to realise these movies instead of banging them out one after another I hate when franchises do that except for Harry Potter who had to do that due to the child actors.
It should also be noted that POTA is completely different from any of those franchises. It’s a pre/post apocalyptic trilogy with very few grand action sequences. In its current state, it can’t be treated like a Marvel or Star Trek movie because the stories are so self-contained and its world is so small. The POTA knows what it is and doesn’t strive to be any grander. It’s got that simplistic, down to earth beauty about it.
"some of the best film making of the last fifteen years". Films were all horrible before 2009. Your attempt at a compliment to the film series is no compliment at all!
I recently watched the latest trilogy on Hulu a few weeks ago and felt like I had missed out. I was absolutely blown away with how amazing they are!! I was telling everyone that they needed to see them
I enjoy seeing all the love this new trilogy is getting recently. I havent been much of a movie guy as an adult, but ive seen this trilogy many times. Cesar and koba are two of my favorite characters ever.
Some friends and I watched through every PotA movie a couple years back. Despite seeing low review scores for Escape, Conquest, Battle, and the 2001 film, I actually really enjoyed all of them. Other than Beneath which was just a mess, I thought they all had interesting narratives and they all felt unique within the franchise. I was most surprised by how much I loved Planet of the Apes 2001. Everyone dunks on it, but I was fascinated with how it took more inspiration from the Pierre Boulle novel than the original series of films. Plus I loved the music, and those practical effects are hard to beat.
Before The Batman Matt Reeves know for Plant of the apes trilogy 🌟💫 The direction, story, execution, theme, VFX, Cinematography & sound design are great. ✨🫡📽️🏆🌟 Excited for Kingdom Of The Plant Of The Aape
THe title of this video I've been wondering for awhile. Even today i saw a video posting top 10 trilogies and these movies weren't even there. This is a solid trilogy. Even Original Star Wars Trilogy slowed down with Return of the Jedi. So did Back to the Future. I think just Lord of the Rings and these Apes movies stayed solid all through out.
I only speak for myself, but for me, there's something eerie about apes' eyes, about how much they resemble human eyes. That's the main reason I haven't watched any of the recent trilogy of movies, even though I've only heard great things about each of them.
The biggest problem is that the majority of the characters ( especially humans) are either uninteresting or getting killed off/replaced between movies as a result you can’t connect to the story because they constantly move forward and go to different stories also there’s not enough action or big moments
@@SkyLightKeyYou can connect with him and Maurice and…who else? Blue Eyes had great character development and spotlight in Dawn but then he dies in the beginning of War. The characters with good side arcs die by the next movie (Will and Charles, Malcolm and Blue Eyes). Maurice and Rocket don’t have character arcs and they’re the only ones from Rise who survive to the end of War. 😬
There's a reason why the Apes series isn't as popular. One word. "Merch" They don't sell toys and crap like Star Wars, Marvel etc. Thats it. The Apes franchise is the best ongoing franchise.
Never forget how talented of an actor Andy Circus is. He will forever be the bridge between the human and the digital. No one comes close as an so iconic. I'd expect A.I. to want to speak to Andy Circus first.
Just finished the trilogy and I’m captivated by the storytelling of the movie, the premise, the characters, the soundtrack and the visuals. Can’t wait to watch the new movie!
In a landscape dominated by superheroes, robots and explosions, a movie about a monkey rebellion just seems a bit tame. Plus the fact that the idea/IP seems quite retro or vintage, something that younger audiences don’t care about, just like Indiana Jones. My 2 cents, I still enjoy the reboots
I'd argue superhero movies have come out so often that we are so desensitized to them...they come out way too often...I remember getting maybe 1 super hero movie a year in the early 2000s compared to like two or 3 a year today. As for robots, boring. Also, dawn and war had a bunch of explosions
25 year old here. I was brought into the apes world when I saw the trailer for rise and thought it looked like a really cool movie premise. My mom of course knew that it was a reboot/prequel. So she helped me buy and watch the original movies which I enjoyed even though they were obviously outdated by the time I watched them. But I loved them. And then I watched the Caesar trilogy and loved them even more. Just watched kingdom on Mother’s Day with mom. We both enjoyed it. I think many people love the apes franchise. It just doesn’t get the same media buzz as other franchises
I'm definitely in the OG5 camp. I didn't like that in Rise, the apes gained speech and sentience via a chemical. In Conquest, only Caesar was born with intelligence. But he still managed to organize their revolt, because through years of mistreatment, they had it in them anyway. For that reason, I never gave Dawn and War a chance. I need to fix that someday.
the reboot series is more grounded and actually makes sense and doesn't overcomplicate things. The original is just too confusing with the time travel and just goes too goofy with all the other weird crap they have going on in them, but then again that's why other people love them
I had a friend who I talk about film a lot with recently mention that she's never seen ANY of the Planet of the Apes movies. I nearly started sobbing. Both as someone who thinks Dawn is one of the best works in the history of cinema and as someone who adores this entire franchise, i was BAFFLED. And the release of Kingdom has only made more of these people come out of the cracks. I wish I was still living blissfully in my fantasy world where everyone adores this franchise
It's a remake that nobody asked for, like almost every film that is coming out these days. I liked the 2000s version of Planet of the Apes as well as it's sequel. While that in itself was a remake, it was more necessary back then as technology and special effects had evolved significantly since the original version of the film. Much less has changed in film between the 2000s and now to warrant another remake. The only reason it's being done is because the dominant thinking in Hollywood right now is that remakes and sequels are always a safe bet.
The reboot quadrilogy as I would call it now is a really brilliant series of well crafted movies which perhaps gets overlooked but are arguably better than the majority of movies that have come out in the past ten years. It's the attention to detail that really brings the movies all together and giving the apes relatable motivations. What struck me about the recent film is how sign language still plays such an important role in the apes language, where they use it as easily as speaking and with its own specific uses. You just don't see that attention to detail in movies anymore.
Me seeing the thumbnail: OH I APPRECIATE IT !!! ngl this is one of my favourite franchises. I already liked the originals (never read the book tho), but Andy Serkis just turned an already awesome thing into a masterpiece
The Apes movies are good, very, very good but, they don’t capture the imagination the way the MCU, Star Wars, or Star Trek do. In these latter franchises the creators created worlds that people want to go back to. The world of The Apes is kind of uncomfortable. It’s gritty and run down and a place people don’t really want to go to.
Regarding the two different book titles, the US version is actually more accurate. Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Orangutans (and Humans) are the 'Great Apes branch of primates - quite different from monkeys (and I am British) A gorilla is a very different animal from a capuchin or tamarin
I re-watched the reboot trilogy last year and I think it still stands as an incredible cinematic achievement, creatively and technically. The story and characterisation still give me chills. The cinematography and overall design is so beautiful. And it's a textbook example of how great CG animation can look if it's respected rather than beaten into submission. It was an astounding achievement by the team at Weta. I do wonder if part of the reason for it's retreat out of the spotlight is due to the recent media and public beatup of cg animation.
I absolutely adore both. The original 5 films (the first 4 in particular) I genuinely adore. They are amazing examples of what science fiction should be... an examination of us. Conquest, in particular, still hits hard, and the actor playing Caesar gives the best performance of his long and impressive career. I will never write off the original movies. Ever.
I've been a Planet of the Apes fan ever since I first found out about the movie, which was when i was 13. As much as i do agree that this franchise is heavily underrated, I also do believe its bitter sweet in a sense. It’s sad to know that they’re not known or loved as much as they should be, but also, I’ve realised how dangerous it can be once put into limelight. There isn’t a single franchise that has been tremendously popular that hasn’t gone downhill due to the pressure to now cater to a larger audience, MCU being a prime example. I love these movies to much and would hate to see these crumble under pressure but at the same time, they ought to be up there with the greats. I'd love to know what you guys think though, Wes Ball did a brilliant job with Kingdom Of The Planet of the Apes! I cannot wait for more.
Ceasar's trilogy is fantastic. I absolutely love his story, the fact that a movie about apes has more humanity than any modern Disney movie is something to take note of
I guess I’m one of the rare birds who enjoy both series, saw Kingdom last night and it was really good! Hopefully we do get more, it did a good job of setting up the world after Caesar
I'm one of those apparently rare fans of both the classic movies and the reboot ones. I just love the whole concept of the Planet of the Apes, I find it fascinating. The classic movies are great for their time, but kinda corny at times. The new ones however are just pure cinema. I wish they were more beloved. Need me an ApeCon to attend, dammit!
I think something else that contributes to making the franchise underrated is probably the gap between the original movie series and the prequel movie series being extremely large with very little in between the gap to keep the franchise fresh in audiences' minds (the only one being Tim Burton's remake, which I can remember people dunking on and labeling it as bad when I was young so it probably didn't get people excited for the franchise for a while). The original audiences for the first series (and subsequent TV shows) would be young Baby Boomers, and there is an extremely large age gap between them and adult Millenials/Gen Z that would have gone on to see the newer prequel series. Compared to other franchises that had a lot of steam to continue showing more art/media/content for long periods with closer age/generation gaps (or, like with Harry Potter, focused on just one specific generation) there's a lot of time when Planet of the Apes probably got forgotten for too long.
I think using more practical costumes like the old films gives it more of a scary/realistic feel. I don’t hate CGI but I think the series has lost its charm because it feels like I’m watching an animated version. It’s still a good reboot but something just doesn’t feel right with it.
The planet of the apes reboots is genuinely some of the best cinema out there. The performances, the dialogue, the action sequences and the character development is insane for a movie about hyper intelligent apes slowly becoming the dominant species on earth. I think the Caesar trilogy should be in the top 10 movie trilogies of all time and there’s probably a shout for top 5.
War for the Planet of the Apes is firmly in my top 10 greatest movies of all time. It was a thematic masterpiece and that trilogy is something I share with every friend and even got my spouse into them (someone who typically doesn't appreciate scifi). I watched kingdom on opening weekend and I was worried it wouldn't stand up in quality considering Wes Balls only other films were the terrible Maze Runners but it definitely stands up to the original 3 and I would put it on the same level as Rise. I'm excited for the new Noah trilogy.
10:28 rewrites, reboots, and different timelines work for comics. It works for Superhero movies, too. It would be nice if it could work for other things too. The new Planet of the Apes was good. Go see it in theaters. Worth it.
I have very different thoughts about all the different movies. The original set came out WAY before I was born. But I really like the first two. The third is already weakening. And the next I almost always forget The 2001 film only came to my attention shortly before the new set. No wonder, I was 4 when that one came out. I heard that it's awful. And curiosity made me watch. What I heard is true. It's easily the worst ape movie. Putting inconsistencies and an open end that was never touched on again. The new movies are really cool. They're a spectacle. And feel like a sequel to Escape from the Planet of the Apes in a way. The weird talking monkey from War mentions he grew up in a circus. And where did Cira put her newborn intelligent baby? Just this time, we follow the origin of the monkey uprising. Monkeys keep getting smarter, humans get dumber. Even the human leader in War ended was a mute idiot, killing himself with his last bit of intelligence.
Been watching the Reboot trilogy with my wife since she’s never seen them. Before we go see Kingdom. And man I gotta say these movies are still masterpieces. Just finished Dawn yesterday. This Trilogy is one of those very Rare ones where each more is as good of not better then the previous. And yes it is rare. Almost every trilogy has a weak 3rd movie. But man the Apes is not one of them. What a masterpiece.
I think the main thing is it has always felt like the first of two trilogies. What sold rise was seeing a world that would one day be what we see in the original. With dawn and war they truly rebooted and so now anyone who is invested is still waiting for the payoff
I only seen the original movies recently and was surprised that the first came out in '68, my parents were 15 that year. I thought they had come out way later because they held up pretty well. The '01 reboot was good to me despite the flaws. The '14 reboot and the sequels were pretty enjoyable.
Why don't we appreciate Planet of the Apes? The titles. It's the titles. The titles make them sound silly. Looking forward to "The War for the Dawn of the Tyranny of the City off the Coast of the Land of the Conqurerer of the Apes" though.
I always appreciate the planet of the apes trilogy. After watching kingdom I decided to rewatch the trilogy since I haven't seen it in a long time and I love it!
The Star Trek analogy is interesting, because in a lot of ways, the POTA movies are kind of like the darker cousin to Star Trek. They’re from roughly the same time period, the guy who did Spocks’ ears did the apes make-up, and they are both concerned about asking big, heady questions. But everything is just a bit more… primal.
that pretty much the state of sci-fy now days, everything has to be either star wars or matrix or aliens by mixing high sci-fy though provokin stuff with high budget action. And sometimes both can mix very well like in dune or upgrade, but other times just fell like a tagline. Take for example inception at its core its a really great movie about exploring the subconcious of the mind via dreams, and on the surface its an action heist film with mostly tame action, okey the hallway fight is amazing, but other than that most of the action is mostly early 2000 shakey cam. I can buy the thriller aspect of the story, but i can't buy the spectacle of it like in james bond or john wick. Hell nolan tried to do it again in tenet and it both failed as a sci-fy film and as an action film, so did i,robot, the one, elysium, maze runners, passengers, all this movies focus on beeing action films first before beeing sci-fy and you should always chose sci-fy first if you want to be A SCI-FY film. Or just go the guardians of the galaxy route and just focus in the action/adventure of it.
These movies are so good specifically because they’re not mainstream box office mega hits. The filmmakers have the leeway to actually be creative, be passionate, and take their time to not churn out yet another assembly line franchise product. Even Kingdom didn’t suck, and that’s a modern day Disney movie.

I think his monologue about the inevitability of human extinction prevents his character from becoming one note villain, despite still being a major douche in the movie
He gave me thanos vibes
@ joelinden1482 Thanos? Cmon man are we not all a but more cultured here? I think you maybe meant (unless you are too young to even know…) COLONEL KURTZ vibes. If you don’t know who and why I’m saying that.. you need to broaden your horizons. “War of the…etc” even has numerous easter eggs alluding to his character being heavily inspired by Kurtz. Not to mention to movie itself… *ape-ocalypse now* graffiti in the tunnels …. Couldn’t be more obvious lol.

@@rhysalexander182Lord of the Rings?
@@_davidboxing Ah, I thought I was commenting on the main thread. I’m actually a rare hater of LOTR. Beautiful but boring!
I like Ceasar's initial "NO" in hindsight because it comes just after Malfoy gives the iconic line. It's almost like the movie was teeing up a boring reboot, and Ceasar was not having it. It's like he was saying to the audience. "You're not getting that kind of movie."
I love that I have never once seen him called by his name in the movie just Malfoy. It makes sense he's pretty much the same character in both.
Are you planning to see the new "Apes" this weekend? I plan to see it with my mom tomorrow as a Mother's Day Gift.
It’s exactly just the reeves duology, the first movie isn’t directed by him.
I thought the movies were just OK. Decent enough to watch once in the theater but nothing more than a 7/10.

James chinlund also did a fantastic job with the sets in the reeves films.
Ever since the release of kingdom, the trilogy has been getting a lot more love and rightfully so
I enjoyed the ideas and the spectacle of the original series.

As long as they don't send us to that horrible Planet of the Apes!"
Fortunately, this wasn't a spoiler for me once I was able to catch the 30th anniversary airing on A&E hosted by Roddy McDowell...
I wonder the same thing. Maybe it just got lost in the mish mash of Star Wars and Marvel over the last 2 decades. Super unfortunate.
Just watched the kingdom and we got another solid franchise starter - hope it grows into more movies, excited where the story gets us and I think it’s the best bait to make people want to watch the reboot trilogy (which is a pure gem)
Win on win on win
I can't wait to see it!
Its apart of the other three movies. So its not a franchise starter per say
This. So much this.
The reboot trilogy is some of the best film making of the last fifteen years. I'm looking forward to the next installment with bated breath
"some of the best film making of the last fifteen years".

I enjoy seeing all the love this new trilogy is getting recently. I havent been much of a movie guy as an adult, but ive seen this trilogy many times. Cesar and koba are two of my favorite characters ever.
Finished the trilogy yesterday, and seeing Cesars journey end really brought tears to my eyes. One of my favorite trilogies by far
I loved beneath only because I had no clue where the movie was going next lmao

Super excited for Kingdom!
idk what you mean by "rise is just a good starter franchise film" that movie to me is one of the best movies ever created
Yeah I don't know why this trilogy doesn't get the praise it deserves. By far one of my favorite movie trilogies ever.
I only speak for myself, but for me, there's something eerie about apes' eyes, about how much they resemble human eyes. That's the main reason I haven't watched any of the recent trilogy of movies, even though I've only heard great things about each of them.
Tim Roth is a great actor
Every role he takes, he crushes.
I was obsessed with Planet of the Apes as a teenager. I dunno, there's also something kinda comfy about being in a small fandom.
The biggest problem is that the majority of the characters ( especially humans) are either uninteresting or getting killed off/replaced between movies as a result you can’t connect to the story because they constantly move forward and go to different stories also there’s not enough action or big moments
The Focus of the first Trilogie was cesaer.
So your suposedto connect to him
Also Maurice and Koba
@@SkyLightKeyYou can connect with him and Maurice and…who else? Blue Eyes had great character development and spotlight in Dawn but then he dies in the beginning of War. The characters with good side arcs die by the next movie (Will and Charles, Malcolm and Blue Eyes). Maurice and Rocket don’t have character arcs and they’re the only ones from Rise who survive to the end of War. 😬
There's a reason why the Apes series isn't as popular. One word. "Merch"
They don't sell toys and crap like Star Wars, Marvel etc. Thats it.
The Apes franchise is the best ongoing franchise.
They need to make it a musical.
Rise of the planet of the apes is very underrated. I think it has a sense of excitement and is an amazing setup and a great standalone film
Never forget how talented of an actor Andy Circus is. He will forever be the bridge between the human and the digital. No one comes close as an so iconic.
I'd expect A.I. to want to speak to Andy Circus first.
And don't forget Andy Serkis, he's pretty good too.
I’ve never seen the originals. I’m 24 now and was in middle school when I first saw Rise. Absolutely love the reboots
I need to fix that someday.
if you have max, watch dawn.
headphones on, lights low.
i watched rise and that it was ok. however, dawn is significantly better
War for the planets with Caesar was amazing
Nailed it!
the reboot series is more grounded and actually makes sense and doesn't overcomplicate things. The original is just too confusing with the time travel and just goes too goofy with all the other weird crap they have going on in them, but then again that's why other people love them
Great vid
This is why I subscribe, I learned so much in this video, and now have a new appreciation for something I've already treasured.
I offered you friendship and you spat in my face
Genuinely underrated and the new films are one of the best films I’ve seen.
They’re incredible! A shining beacon in the cesspool of modern franchises.
God-tier franchise.
AVI ARAD will ruin Wes Ball's LEGEND OF ZELDA
The same way he ruined TASM2 and MORBIUS

Of course! The Ape trilogy is insanely underated. It doesn't get enough credit for it's AWESOMENESS!
just got out of theaters from kingdom and i gotta say im really excited to see where they go with this new trilogy
The upside is they don’t over charge you as much for the 4K box set the way they would if it was more popular 😂
I just recently got into this series and I'm so shocked I didn't really hear anyone talk about these! I love all the movies ive seen from this
Ceasar's trilogy is fantastic.
Conquest will always be my favorite. It’s very close to my heart, and it came out 20 years before I was born
Worth it.
Why is the UA-cam algorithm machine all of the sudden on a mission to try and get me to rewatch these
When I was a kid "Planet of the Apes" was the sh*t. Then Stars Wars came out....
Finally some recognition!!! I love these movies and I can't wait to see the newest iteration!
I have very different thoughts about all the different movies.
The original set came out WAY before I was born. But I really like the first two. The third is already weakening. And the next I almost always forget
The 2001 film only came to my attention shortly before the new set.
I'm a big fan of both the originals and the prequels. These films are criminally underrated
It's so underrated that people thought War For The Planet of The Apes was bad
Ceaser saying "No" is still is one of the most amazing moments I have seen in a full theater. Everyone instantly had the same reaction as the gorilla.
I love both series. I'm going to see Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes tomorrow. Beyond stoked.
I think the main thing is it has always felt like the first of two trilogies. What sold rise was seeing a world that would one day be what we see in the original. With dawn and war they truly rebooted and so now anyone who is invested is still waiting for the payoff
I love Rise, Dawn and War so much. It’s one of my favorite trilogies of all time and Caesar is one of my favorite characters in all of media.
They are mega underrated but with the new one I have been seeing the trilogy get a ton of love in the internet which makes me so happy
