    I was TRYING to shove a lot of information into one video, which is why I am speed talking 😂😂 I hope you find the questions you’re looking to have answered here but if not please leave them below and I will answer them or elaborate in another video.

    This is so detailed and useful for anyone who is moving to Germany. And you certainly got across a lot of information clearly. Your ‘ speed talking’ was clear and effective.

      PCSing OCONUS is so stressful, (can’t even imagine during covid) but I promise it will all work out. 💛 it does feel like so much more is out of your control though.

      Well 2CR is it’s own hurdle anytime, but I just think it’ll be a little more work to adjust to the military life, as well as a new country. I have hopes that by the end of the year travel will be happening freely again and that’s what people love about OCONUS. Don’t be scared! But if it’s a struggle don’t let it determine your future in the army.

    I was surprised to see too many documents you need to stay in Germany.Thanks for sharing your experience

    It's so interesting that they call a visa, a sofa in Germany. I assumed that because of 2020 that thinks would be different in other countries. It does make it a very unique situation for military members and their families.

    This video has a bunch of very important information. Despite the fact that you were speed talking I managed to grasp the information. Just surprised that one needs alot of documents to be able to live in Germany.

    This was allot of info but I’m sure it’s very helpful to those coming to Germany. 400 question test?! Woahh I don’t know if I could sit through that!

    Hi Jamie, just stumbled upon your channel and i’m on my fifth video. I appreciate all of them, very helpful and informative. I’m just a little confused why you had two passports? TIA

    • @JamieVaca
      @JamieVaca  3 роки тому +1

      Are you military? One is my “official government issued passport” only for official travel, it’s often referred to as a “no-fee” and its usually issued to military dependents. Sometimes you just get issued a sofa stamp in your ordinary “travel passport” but because you need a passport to enter Germany the government has to pay for it, so they give you the no-fee, but it is only good for the country you have military orders for. Hope that makes sense? I of course have my regular passport so I can travel freely outside of Germany.

    So the driver’s license you get over there cover driving in other countries as well?

    • @JamieVaca
      @JamieVaca  3 роки тому

      No I should’ve clarified that, it’s only for driving in Germany, you then have to get an international license here in Germany to drive in other countries. (We haven’t traveled in so long I forget 😅) it’s about €20 and doesn’t require a test, just your USEUAR license once you receive it.

    Hello thank you sooo much for the driving license break down so when taken the test(I’m the SM) I can do everything over here and just bring all paper work over when I come, I’ll be coming in July...and will there be another test I have to take once over there?

    • @JamieVaca
      @JamieVaca  3 роки тому

      Yes, if you do both tests (pre test and post test) you’ll get a certificate and that’s all you need (plus American license). Taking the in-person class is part of your in processing but just take that certificate from JKO with you and you won’t have to sit through it.

    • @jazziejeffbarham7451
      @jazziejeffbarham7451 3 роки тому

      @@JamieVaca ok and you might have said it but it’s only January can I take it now? Or how long is the certification good for should me and my husband wait closer to time? I don’t want to do it and it expire... and another thing while your over there and you USA license expire what do you do to get them renewed because Ik you have to have all that to drive, and with the one passport that’s given to you through military it doesn’t cost but how much did your travel passport cost and should I get that here or wait till I’m there to get it?
      Sorry this got kinda long but you said some gems so I had to ask

    • @JamieVaca
      @JamieVaca  3 роки тому +1

      @@jazziejeffbarham7451 I believe it is only good for 30 days so definitely wait until the weeks leading up to your move. I know the “validation” of your license while overseas varies with each state but my license was going to expire 6 months after we PCSed and I asked this exact question when I got my USAEUR license and they said it didn’t matter as long as your license was valid at the time you apply. But I ended up renewing my Minnesota license through mail a few months after it expired just because I could. But your license is usually valid with overseas military orders until you return home.
      You can get your passport here but if you can afford it and you have the time I’d get it done in advance. Even before covid I heard appointments take some time. You can’t travel here much due to covid but hopefully by the time you get here that’ll be ending. Each travel passport is about $120 give or take because I know prices change.

    I always forget what comes with moving so many documents and things that need switching over. what are you most excited for relocating to Germany?

    • @JamieVaca
      @JamieVaca  4 роки тому

      It is A LOT to relocate. But we do it every few years so it’s very organized. ☺️ we’ve already been in Germany for 3 years, but I was very excited for quant cobblestone roads, which fully do exist everywhere but are actually a pain in my butt( or rather feet) to walk on!! 😅
