Being a native german, I was convinced for several “sentences” that Conan spoke German and that I just didn’t hear all the words. - that is next level imitation
Flula Borg told Conan that typically every 4th or 5th word of his rants is an actual German term aside from all the ders, dies and unds.
It's what german sounds like to us.

As a kid I was in a Volkstanzgruppe (folk dance group) led by grandma where we also learned Schuhplattler. Absolutely hated it but now I get nostalgic whenever I see the dancing and hear the music. It's just part of my culture and I'm happy some people try to keep it alive.

The dad is named Jo and is part of a music group the Happy Bavarians. He and Simon also appear in the first episode of season two of Jack Whitehall's _Travels with My Father_ showing them around Bavaria.

If you start learning English pretty early (For example, I had English lessons in school since I was six) and have good teachers, who don't have an accent theirselves and with a little bit of talent for languages, it will be not so hard to speak proper English, even living in Germany. ;)

Usually the ones with the scary face are the "goodest" of all. More than one friend in school told me my dad looks like he might be quite strict and severe but then they met him in person and discovered he's funny and goofy. The scary ones, in my experience, are the ones that looks all perfect and polite, like they couldn't harm a fly...
One of the first things my teacher told me when we had our first class of German, was that German people love work. His " first we work" thing was quintessentially german

Bavaria is in germany, so yes it is a german tradition.
Traditions in germany are different in nearly every federal state, so if they would have shown a tradition from the north then the people from the south would say its not a german tradition.
