Meditation: Recognising Our Inherently Fulfilled Being

  • In this meditation we begin by contemplating the three steps to recognising our essential nature: first, the recognition, ‘I am the presence of awareness with which all experience is known’, second, ‘I am the presence of awareness within which all experience arises’ and third, ‘I am that out of which all experience is made and of which everything is the activity’. We then notice that our being, the presence of awareness, is always in the same pristine, inherently peaceful, unconditionally fulfilled and loving condition. This is our natural condition, not a state that we may obtain in the future if we practise hard enough or meditate long enough. It is our nature now. It has always been and will always be our nature. It is simply there for the recognising.

Politics is just a consequencenof the circumstances, even materialism or communism needs an ideological revolution e.g. a society becoming a genuine community, all for all, and this needs a revolution in the self to cause a revolution in humanity

My family are always trying to find the next thing to do. My sister goes on constant trips to different places but i can see when she gets back shes pretty stressed and sad. They dont understand why i stay home most of the time. Meanwhile im expiriencing the most love and fufilment just being gods being. Still challenges and uncomfortable things arise, but i know what they are arising in and what they are made of. Theres nothing to do. Everything is complete and mystical as pressence.

Words - result of sound to a human brain, creating imagery, always trying to makes sense of ones own existence. Is there a quiet presence, watching, witnessing the cinema of our lives? Can one see ones own conditioned learned mind recorded in the brain? Actions, reactions all a result of ones own story of life. Then comes the question, what is that which has been an ever present witness from age 0 till date? Is that a recording in the brain as well? Is there a state of listening without labelling? Is there a seeing without recording? What are our senses originally meant for? Are we just parrots repeating words? What flows through Mr. Spira is what comes to him. Ultimately, what does it mean to the listener? Are we 'really' listening to Mr. Spira? Or are they just words creating more confusion. Can there be a danger of delusion lurking? There is immense responsibility by all parties. These are just questions which may mean differently to the reader.

    • @sandycarter5300
      @sandycarter5300 2 роки тому

The only lurking delusion and danger of it is the belief that there is a brain. Since the atom is empty space, and the brain is composed of atoms, the brain is nothing but an impersonal belief. The brain doesn't give rise to consciousness. Consciousness gives rise to the belief in a brain. It's all "going on" in impersonal or universal consciousness. In other words, it's all imagined. It is as real as the movie that you go to watch in a theater. Not real.

Funny, not really, story: a friend gave me a line of speed this morning. Totally forgot about it but had these grandiose emotions all day(without remembering I had consumed a drug) with culminated in an 'enlightenment experience' in which I recognized my true nature, unveiled by experience. It was great, not wonderful or joyous or anything - just normal life. I had no resistance to what was, I didn't feel fantastic, I just accepted myself. The simple fact of being aware and the space of being, within which I was. Then the fucking drug wore off and I hit a terrible low. Nonetheless... One keeps going, hehe. I do know that chasing the drug is not the lesson...

Would you please take a second to answer my question.
From my own experience, I do not think anything while I am doing something or while I am experiencing something. Nothing comes to my mind while I am engaged in doing something, not even the feeling of time, space, or anything. When I am doing nothing, the thought comes, and they take me away from myself. They make me think, they make me contemplate, and they make me relative. Why so? What am I having while engaged in something, and what am I missing while not doing anything?

You say in order to perceice the world (as a real world), 'consciousness' needs to forget itself, and needs to forget that 'it' is dreaming. Do you think this happened on purpose ? Or what is the reason for 'consciousness' to fall asleep and dream up a world in the first place ? If 'it' is whole and already fulfilled why does 'it' forget itself and dream a world in which it is suffering ?

The dream analogy is a metaphor. Remembering and forgetting are qualities of the mind, or activities within awareness.
Rupert uses the metaphor of the space within a room. This space is not dependent on the recognition of the objects within it in order to know itself. Rather, it IS itself, timelessly and effortlessly. This space is fulfilled in and of itself, and also the essential container of all the objects within it.

I still want to know the implications of this understanding. Like I am 98% there, but I'm experiencing a "now what?" thought. Like in a practical sense, how to "I" live/exist now? Do I just say screw it and just do random things from here on out? Get a hooker, quit my job, does it even matter?! Or instead, when do I receive my rose colored glasses in the mail if I'm supposed to observe the world with happiness and peace? If someone understands what I am trying to convey, would you care to comment? I'm still lost and seeking hard 🙏

But the space in a room cannot feel pain. Effort IS required on the mind’s part, to know its own limitations and surrender its movements to the reflection of consciousness. This is a mental enterprise, that requires effort, essentially in clearly discerning content from context.
Experience never disappears, it only changes, change is in fact its essential nature.

One thing I like about Spira as opposed to teachers like Adyashanti or Tolle is that he spends a lot more time on skillful means. Not just talking about enlightenment, but HOW to get there. Tolle barely does this, Adya does this to some extent (I'm talking about their online content, not their retreats) but nothing like Spira.
There are far superior teachers in terms of providing techniques, but none that I've encountered on the Direct Path so far.

The problem we have must be the yoke of the flesh. It is obvious to some that once we die then the illusions of time, suffering, and separation pass away and we know everything we focus our intention on now, we do not see a past or future. Then love is all there is (but what is love really?). The real interesting question to me is not the seemingly pervasive awareness that is our nature, but the details, like, is this awareness a feature of a larger aspect of a meta-lifeform of which we are a part or limb? We seem to always extrapolate our self-awareness outward to the lap of God. I grow tired of the grandiose data-free pseudo-religious zones we think and meditate from. It is like talking about "what does that cloud look like?" I would like to know from what field of the natural multi-dimensional universe does this timeless love proceed? It is not from some far flung God, that notion is nothing more than a self-inflicted insult.

If you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and say that he is your lord and savior and believe it in your heart then you will go to heaven not hell, is the traditional Christian way of salvation which is not correct in any sense of the word. So what do you do with that? There's nothing you can say to a traditional Christian apart from this belief or should I say these beliefs. This won't bring them to the awareness of who they are. As far as their concerned Jesus Christ is the only human that ever lived on this planet that is one with God and even that, they are confused with. It said really that the church has instilled lies so they could hide the truth and control the people through fear. Very sad indeed
