That's Wonderful! Yes definitely just take your time and relax. If it doesn't come out like you want just try again. Even if you are "GIFTED" you still have to Practice!
"Good morning Dolls" "Morning Gretchen!" lol. I LOVE how you used the fringe edge as the tiebacks, it looked really fancy. A beautiful touch. The whole water and glue mix is such an invaluable tool for miniaturists with how versatile it is, I just about permanently have a small tupperware container of it in my art studio because I use it so often lol. Have a wonderful day 😊
LOLOLOL!! Good Morning Nessie! I'm glad you liked this! I need to get busy because I need to make curtains for the Parlor and the Girls room!!! LOLLOL! Yes that water a glue solution is so useful! Great Suggestion!I need to keep a covered container of it handy I have always dumped out the leftover solution! thanks for the tip!
Thank you Patricia!!! I am so glad you are enjoying this! Your feedback is comforting, I always hope my directions and explanations make sense! I appreciate you for being here!
I love the fabric, it's going to go so well in the dining room with the gorgeous wallpaper and all of the lovely furniture filled with your treasures. I don't know why I'm so partial to floor length window treatments, hmmm....lol.
Hi, thank you for the tutorial, the curtains are beautiful, I love the colour, and the lace really sets them off, I can't wait to see them installed in the dining room, Best wishes from Diane in Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧
I love how you did those drapes with the lace panel in the middle I'm going to have to try that it's so pretty in the idea of foam board that is pretty to where you don't have to deal with little curtain I like that idea thanks for sharing it with you those little drapes are adorable
Thank you! Have made tiny curtain RODS before but it just seems like WHY?... I'm not going to remove them. Plus i feel i can get a more natural "draped look" with the glue solution than when i set them in place. Thank you for the feedback!
You make everything you do look so easy. I love that you use silk for for drapery. They look so luxurious. And the color is lovely. Keep up the good work on the rooming house. I love seeing it come together a room at a time.
Thank you Candice I was really glad to find that really fine silk it's really easy to work with! One of my cousins recently gave me some of her grandfather's old silk pocket squares and there's a perfect size and weight for curtains! I wish I had known before I bought all that silk 🤣😂😅
The silk is beautiful, and I love the lace! I'm looking forward to seeing the curtains installed in the dining room. It's such fun to see it all coming together. 😊
That is beautiful, love your use of the "fringe" for the tie backs! Love that dusty shade of green too--well, green is my favorite color😊💚. That dining room will be looking so elegant!
HI STEFAN!! And Thank you! Welcome to Little Gretchen's Workshop! I'm so glad you have chosen to be one of My Precious Dolls! I'm also glad to hear this video was helpful! I truly appreciate your feedback!!! Thank you again for being here!!!

Glad I could help! Now you can make as many as you need! I like the little lace part alot too because it will dress up the window shade! I am So excited about adding the curtains and setting the rest of the accessories in! Thank you for watching!

🥰 These curtains are Lovely and I love how the frayed tie backs were a perfect bonus to them.. like the icing on the cake! 🤗 My fabric tac is like that as well..lol ..I haven't really explored with curtains yet. Ive only made the shades ..I was just saying how I will be needing to make a set for the upstairs hall. These ones are to fancy for The ol' farmhouse of course...but I adore them. As well as that lovely piece of lace..I had so many visions come thru at first sight. 😊 I like the idea of using the foam board instead of the extra step of making curtain rods. Have you considered using wax paper..instead of foil..it works pretty well for peeling off the braided rugs I made..using tacky glue. Thanks for sharing this lovely miniature vision...See ya soon ☺️
Thank you So much! i really am glad you like them! Yes should try wax paper instead. I have a roll on my craft table that I hardly ever use. I'll definitely get a chance to use it because i have more curtains to make! Thanks for the reminder.
Green has become one of my favorites too! It really is hard to find tiny fabric things!! I always look for those "silly tiny ribbons" they put in clothes to keep them on the hangers. They are Nice and small! Great for tie backs, apron strings, ribbons and so many other 12th scale fabric things. Thank you for watching!
HELLO!!! and Welcome to Little Gretchen's Workshop! Thank you for choosing to be a One of My Precious Dolls! I am grateful to have you here to be a part of my wonderful journey. Stay tuned there is so much more to come!
Use wax paper. Nothing sticks to wax paper. Beautiful drapes. I know this is old, but I'm binging your videos on this below-zero dead of winter day. :)
Thank you Figgy ! And I appreciate the wax paper suggestion! Nothing better than an GOOD SNOW DAY Binge watching Miniature Videos!!!! I appreciate you fro allowing me to share with you!!! ENJOY!!!
I LOVE these curtains you made for your dollhouse dining room. The green silk fabric looks lovely, it's perfect for a dining room or fancy parlour. How do you work out how big to make the pleats in your curtains, because they look perfect? Thanks for a great video tutorial. Love from Amanda in Australia
Thank you Amanda!!! 😊 Just about everything I do is random because I don't like to measure. I just bend it until it looks natural. Thank you for watching ☺️❤️❤️❤️
When it comes to sticking, have you tried covering your work surface with strips of that shiny clear packaging tape? I love it, and nothing sticks to that shiny surface. Love your tutorials!
OMGOODNESS! What a GREAT TIP!!!! Thank you for sharing that! I have several more sets of curtains to make and that will really be helpful! I appreciate you!
@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 it's a tip I learned somewhere else, can't remember where but I use it for my glue-ups and painting and staining. You can use it several times over then peel it off and toss it when it gets too worn. Looking forward to the next episode on your channel!
@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 yes of course, I’m a little behind on all my viewing cause Of vacation. Im still caring up! Your awesome curtains and my bedding…these rooms are going to be beautiful.
They look fantastic! As someone new to all miniatures I'm wondering if you can wash the curtains afterwards if you don't glue them directly to the house or anything. Is it possible after the glue dip? My project last year was a doll house for my daughter, but I try to make everything removable for in case I have to wash anything. But I love the pleated look that you can't otherwise achieve with the small curtains as they're just too stiff, no matter what fabric you use.
Hello and thank you! Welcome to the Wonderful World of Miniatures. I have never had an instance of needed to remove curtains to be "washed". I install them with the intention for them to be permanent unless I decide to re-decorate, in which i would be replacing them any way.For a child's dollhouse I would not use the water and glue because realism is not really the objective when setting up a dollhouse for a child. But if you do make them, I would not attempt to wash them. If they get dirty from the children playing you make need to just replace them I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!
Beautiful color and fabric for these! The house I'm currently using for my dolls' house doesn't have any actual windows. Wondering if you had any thoughts on this? Have you ever done this to create a window where there wasn't one in actuality? ❤
YES! I Truly believe in creating whatever your dollhouse or room needs... Including windows or doors. All you need a window frame 🪟, you can find a Nice image of a field or houses, body of water and put it behind glass before you glue it to the wall. Make sure you measure the distance between the floor and the bottom of the window so that the position is natural. The hallway above the pantry in the Rooming House Dollhouse has a staircase to the attic but it doesn't go to attic. It's an illusion. I also have 2 false doors and false stairwell in my original dollhouse. Check out My Original dollhouse tour series. Let me know how it goes 😊❤️
i love your voice it is so soothing
Im beginning a large victorian house and i cant wait to try this method to dress all those windows! Thank you
