This is absolutely TERRIFIC!!! I am beginning to restore my great grandmother’s dollhouse from the late 1800s and this is EXACTLY what I needed to see! I was lacking vision and you really clarified a lot of things for me! Thank you! 🎉

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 Absolutely agree!! So many "creators" seem to be obsessed with adding annoying, loud, inappropriate "music" - interfering with their verbal instructions. There's a time and place for music, and during instructional videos, there's no place for it unless it's a music video tutorial.

I just found a great little dollhouse that I will renovate, and it has egg carton stones, so this is so timely! The chimney needs work, and the foundation, but one thing I won't do anything to other than cleaning, is the hand painted wall surface! So much better than wallpaper! You are such a good teacher!
Yesterday I broke up some black shale into various sizes and sorted them for my first project. What you’ve done does what I envisioned and it looks better and easier to do.
Would love to send you pics.
My brother in Sweden lives in a house built in 1720. I’m. making him a miniature to give him in June.
What you created looks *exactly* like the foundation of his house except his doesn’t have straight bricks at the bottom.
Would like to send you pics.

I ended up using modge podge as the base for the stones rather than wood glue, it worked alright but dried way more quickly, so I had to almost do each stone individually. I'd probably do wood glue next time!

I’ve never tried that before! It’s good to know! I always use wood glue for my stones, because it gives me some adjustment time. I'm glad things worked out for yours!!! I appreciate you for letting me know!

Hi Gretchen; came across your channel about 2 months ago I ♡ "Trust the process" your awesome ! I liked and subscribed to your channel before I finished watching your first tutorial. I hope you respond to comments. Mostly because I'm trying desperately to accomplish/finish my miniature dollhouse. You see I recently was involved in an accident which unfortunately involved a laser/led light and it burned my retina. In turn it left me blind in my left eye and I have limited vision in my right eye. It's a matter of time 2years max b4 I'm unable to see at all. My bucket list b4 this happens is completing my dollhouse so my home made for the most part miniatures have a permanent place to call home. I correspond with a speech to text recorder and hope my words don't get auto corrected (as they have) and I'm unaware . With that being said I am so impressed with your tutorials but this has got to be one of my faves. I love the cobblestone look and how easy it looks. Your links bring me to Amazon USA for products and im in Canada. Could you please tell me the actual name of the compound/filler/grout fill your using once carton pieces are glued down painted, and coated. I thought it was a plastic wood of sorts but I keep getting taken to a spackle with a pink lid. I do if not mistaken recall you saying this product you used for the grout was one of your "Go to" choices. I'm trusting in the process Gretchen 😊 Please in a reply to my comment I'd be ever so grateful if you could just write out the name of what it is you used to make these cobblestones come to life and look so darn beautiful. I have the modge podge, I have the gorilla glue I just need to know what the fillers name is then I can get it on Amazon Canada. Im told that compounds, fillers and spackles are all for different uses as well your links are obviously for USA purchases and not bringing me to the correct places in the Canadian Amazon. I apologize in advance for any possible typos, i also look very forward to your reply. I've completly become a loyal & dedicated subscriber to your channel. I look everyday for new content. Keep safe, be well and keep em' coming. I am so hoping you can find time to respond to this comment. Tysm

Gretchen tysm for the ♡ of my comment. Im anxiously awaiting the name of what you used as grout between cobblestones.

HELLO TAMMY!!! Welcome to Little Gretchen's Workshop! I am So Honored and Grateful for you comment! I truly apologize for the delay in responding! it takes me a while to get thorough ALL the comments, in the midst of filming, editing and creating the stories! Rest assured i will always respond! If you ever need to ask a specific question like this just email me. I don't get as many emails, right now anyway! LOOLOL! So regarding the "grout' it's actually just "joint compound" which is used to patch dry wall. seams. I use DRYDEX brand Spackle, some of the formulas are pink when wet and then they dry white or grey. But i'm sure any brand would work. DRYDEX is the common brand at the home store near me. Let me know how it goes thank you for being here!!!

I've seen people use hot glue to make stone fireplace, put blobs of glue down, then paint. But they'd look more smooth, like river stones, not this rougher texture.
