I am a complete noob in the grand scheme of things but for some reason I have a feeling Buffalo Trace are the ones who sell these things in the allocated market themselves. The only other way I have seen you can even get Blantons is by going to the distillery in person and thats just what I read on the website they offer in person. 1 Either people are traveling to the distillery and buying as much as possible and then sending their wife and their wifes sister after in after, rinse and repeat 2 I have not seen anywhere that there is a limit for locals, spending a 1000 bucks on buffalo trace at cost is nothing but profit 3 The company is straight up selling it themselves and inflating the market by making it seem "limited" As odd as it sounds I dont think Buffalo Trace wants everyone to taste their whiskey, just like Ferrari doesn't want just any random joe driving their cars.

My brother-in-law and I had a 25yr old, 21yr old, 18 yr old, 15 yr old, and a 12 yr old...all in one day. That certainly doesn't happen every day... Always a great quote and we say it often when drinking scotch. Almost as much as "that's what she said." Love the review guys!
Living in UK I've quite literally have no chance of getting near those bottles. You've worked hard to get this channel popular and as reviewers, getting freebies is part of your job. I know a book reviewer who's never had to buy a book in her life. Great video, keep up the good work.
This is the first time I have watched on of your video's and I really enjoyed it. There are people that can try things and say oh that's good, but the descriptions and adjectives that you use make total sense to the person that knows nothing about bourbon. Great job and I will be definitely watching more of your videos.
Liked this video when it came out & now I've watched it again so I have to comment.... got an EH Taylor Barrel Proof for msrp today so I'm feeling whiskey-stoked...Thanks Chad & Sara, awesome review as always!!!
1.It’s so cool that you were sent that box. 2. Your right, receiving a box directly from the distillery to review shouldn’t be looked down on (especially if you are disclosing the information). 3.The only reason it scares me is because the distillery could (and I say this with a Mel Gibson “Conspirancy theory” mindset), but they could choose to send the best product they have for people to spread the good word). But... regardless, we all generally know what brands are consistent with quality. And regardless of what reality we are in, you two get to taste some good mamajamin sniz. Cheers to both of you. Now I will watch your review and see what you think. Lol
Is anyone else starting to think that the bourbon companies are all just trying to cash in on marketing ploys ? There seems to be so many limited releases, special releases etc etc etc that just buying a nice bourbon starts becoming a complicated affair. I think life was a bit more simple and happier when there were like a half a dozen mainstream bourbons to pick from. Sazerac rye 18 year old is $1500 a bottle on the retail market in Australia.
Tonight I brought home Elijah Craig toasted, hoping it will give us something in the Elijah Craig family that was not kind of boring to us. Really trying to get my hands on William L. Weller this year as I'm a huge wheated bourbon fan. The George T. Stagg will also be on the list for us, wish me luck as we won't get many of these! Congratulations on receiving the line from Trace, I'm sure you were very excited! Thanks again for you input and opinion!
🤩What a treat. I am so glad to see the high proofs this year for WLW and GTS. If I can get my hands on any one of these or the CEHT 18yr this year I will be a happy man.
Just did a tour at the Buffalo Trace Distillery and they had Colonel Taylor small batch and Blantons and Buffalo Trace in the gift shop. Talking to the employees, they cant get any of the BTAC line either.
Very nice intro to this video! Happy for you, that you get to try all these whiskeys, but also a little bit jealous because I won't have the chance. Cheers from Germany, Andy
I actually agree with you guys that just because you get something for free that you can’t give an honest opinion isn’t true. However, it is possible to be so overly offensive in the opinion that they decide not to send future shipments....
Lee J I suppose that could happen, though we’ve never heard of it. And honestly, I don’t think anyone bashing BTAC would hurt their sales in the least these days Hahaha!
Who left a flashlight on in this damn box! Also Sara and her 18yr comment was priceless. I can only hope I'm able to get people to send me free whiskey someday, these all sounded intriguing.
Here's the thing, and this is relative but... my local store got a bottle of each. The Stag was $399 and the Weller was $799 because let's face it, they don't actually get priced the same regardless of MSRP. So with that, which would you buy at these prices?
Love your videos! My ignorance with this question (I’ve only had half a pour of one BTAC in my life, and it was GTS 2019): Chad, when you say something tastes like a steak, are you saying it’s filling like a steak (sits heavy or filling in your stomach) or are you saying it’s tasting notes are like a medium rare steak (buttery, creamy, juicy, peppery, and meaty like a literal steak)?
Awesome video! Any chance if comparing the Eagle Rare 17 at 101 proof ($99 retail) to the Wild Turkey 17 year BIB ($175 retail)? Knowing people pay way over retail for the Eagle Rare, I would love to see what comes out on top.
Not to brag, but I work in CRAFT dept there...Blanton's, Stagg, Pappy, Rockhill, BT, Eagle Rare, AND the very Bourbon you are tasting! 11 years at BTD. .stay thirsty, and Thanks for the video!
Just found your video. Love love love buffalo trace products! Hope I can get my hands on some of these. You guys crack me up. Sara you're everything guys dream..a female actually appreciating whiskey instead of making this face 😖 when she drinks it 😂 cheers 🥃
Also... Chad, when you were talking about George T. Stag, you sounded like the old judge in Bobs Burgers who tasted Bob’s Black Garlic Burger. EXCEPTIONAL MOUTH FEEL! Quote, Linda: “And he liked both your mouth feels”.
@@ItsBourbonNight um, if that's the case why don't we get a collection video? They typically get the most views and give us addicts inspiration! Id love to see and hear about the shelves plus see the collection.
Yep what you said on the Eagle Rare but I will and do stick to the 10 yr where I can get 3 bottles for $100 in lieu of one bottle of the 14 yr. Just love the Eagle Rare 10 YR. I have learned the hard way I don't like the high proof Bourbons.
It seems to me, WLW and GTS are the true heavy hitters and really live up to the btac hype. The others are nice but not on the same level as those two. I have several btacs, but wlw and gts, except for last years gts, are always a step above. Thomas H Handy is either a hitter or miss.
I completely agree with you.. honestly, I have never really been a fan of the B trace line. EXCEPT... for Stagg, and WLW. Hahaha. Which of course are nearly impossible to find. Never really been a fan of the standard trace or eagle rare. Just to corn heavy for me.
My passion for bourbon has pretty much come to a halt. Mainly, its the blatant upcharging and backroom deals that have now taken over every establishment within a 2 hour drive of me. You cant find Weller Reserve for less than $200, all BTAC and allocated BT products carry prices above $300. Even Blantons is $130+ in my area of the South East US. Outside of that, all reasonable priced allocated offerings are held for friends of the owner or (and this isnt a lie) for only Korean or Japanese clientele as a majority of these stores have been sold and bought by them. There is one store that does a lottery every November, but their highly sought offerings are only for people who spend thousands throughout the year with them. Granted, I have found a new passion for Irish whiskey and Scotch again, but if I buy bourbon now, its just ECBP or Garrison Single Barrel. Its just irritating that even using BT's suggestion of reporting these establishments does nothing and feels anti-capitalist. I cant fault them if there are people with more money than commonsense but its annoying. *** I know it sound like a whiney rant, and it is, but I know I am not the only one who has seen this bourbon bubble inflate to ridiculous levels and I am surprised it hasnt burst yet.
Easily the best intro you've ever made...
I would agree. What camera do you film with to make it look like that. It looked like a movie.
@@KC8WC0 Just a regular Canon DSLR but did a little more color correction.
Favorite movie of all time !!!
They should sell the entire bottling of the collection in this packaging (vs. 750 ml) giving more people at least an outside chance at trying them.
They're often available at bars with good whisky collections for around $20 a pour each year. Just have to go in Oct / Nov before they run out!
instablaster...

Mark Wilcock IT has not happened since I was 18 myself, I swear. Her reaction was fantastic
It probably goin to go viral 😅
Someone needs to make this into a gif you can use on future posts 😂
That had me in tears
Best bourbon/whiskey channel on YT. Production value, content, etc. You guys deserve everything you get.

Dan, if you are ever in London, Milroy's sometimes have them on the bar menu (October-ish)
I really enjoy how you two review the bourbons and interact with each other. Look forward to many more tutorials
Thanks!
love the nod to Pulp Fiction, good stuff!
Gave the thumbs up at "It's not every day you get to have an 18 yr old..."
One of the best reviews ever. I’ll never get a chance but now I have had the experience.

I like all most of these reviews on youtube You guys present a classy broadcast.
Whiskey cheers. The production value alone was worth this watch. Good job and excellent reviews.
I stumbled upon a WLW Saturday at my local grocery store at retail! Needless too say I was stunned can’t wait to crack it open!
Incredible!
I would call that dang lucky!
YOU HAVE A FREAKIN' SUIT OF ARMOR AND THE NOD TO PULP FICTION!!! YES!!! cheers!
I would watch you guys do a bottled water tasting. Great review.
I was hooked at “We happy?” Classic! Well played

Really enjoy both your insight. Fun to watch, thank you.
I have the chance to get the 2020 Stagg and the Thomas Handy Rye for $220 each. After watching this I think I'll get both. Cheers!
The flavor profile isolation issue you had with the WLW, I have with the last batch of Stagg Jr!

There's a local bar that's doing a WLW, GTS, and EHT BP flight
the gods smiled on me today ... i got a bottle of Stagg
Very jealous, but very well deserved. Congratulations on building the industry relationship y’all have in such a short time!
Made me put the movie aside to watch tonight. As always, great video, you two! Cheers.
I just picked up my bottle of George t stagg. So happy
Awesome job y’all! Hope to get a chance to grab a bottle sometime this year. Either way, great review! Cheers
Nice Review! Just found a Chapter 4 today on my hunting trip:) Fingers crossed to find WLW this year
Found a Chapter 4 today myself & enjoyed the first dram tonight!
Never would think I would ever get my hands on a set.
Oh, this will go down as your best intro! I agree with iseedumbppol down below. Awesome!! "Pulp Whiskey"!! I'd pay to see that!! Lol.
Great job! Congratulations for getting to taste those Unicorns!
You should make that one liner into merch....you know which line 😎
Nice job, I'm looking forward to getting a bottle of these

Well done on the intro, well done.
Amazing Intro. Great review! Hope I can find one!
Nailed that intro! Hope to win the chance to buy one of these in one of our very few and far between 🇨🇦 lotteries.

How were you about to get all those
I can't even get Buffalo Trace where I live. I had to drive to another state to get a bottle...
Oh Sara...Thank you for the gold

Quinton Tarantino called when it is intro back! nice job ! Nice 👍🏼 job
It's my dream to win the opportunity to buy BTAC thru a lottery. Great video guys!!!!
Great editing.
Is this tasting set available at retail ?

I totally believe you guys to be unbiased. OMG Sazerac 18? I want it. Not sure I have had an 18 year old either
Nice Bob's Burgers reference. ;-)
Love the intro!!!
Just found your video. Love love love buffalo trace products! Hope I can get my hands on some of these. You guys crack me up. Sara you're everything guys dream..a female actually appreciating whiskey instead of making this face 😖 when she drinks it 😂 cheers 🥃
Be interesting to see you two do a chocolate pairing with bourbon one of these days ... got turned on to that the last time I was in Louisville
Very informative...I hope I can find some...
Great intro!
Thanks Shad
Is this tasting set sold or are they just
I wonder if the notes would have gone differently if there was an hour or so between different whiskey's. Cool review.

Okay I'll admit it I'm soooooo jealous! Good for you Cheers!
Damn. This felt like getting have an 18 year old again. thanks for the content you guys!

Chad: is there a wrong way to drink 5 BTACs in one night?
Me: mixing them all together in the same glass (i.e. suicide BTAC) would be very wrong.
David Lingsweiler True, that might be wrong! Good point :)
Had to say; cute intro!
