Wow.....first time I watched a video on youtube and left wanting for a lot more. The Music, the Camera work, the Narration and the beauty of Suriname ... just magical
A lot of people from suriname or living here in the netherlands. Nerver heard them describe there country,as you did. Thumbs up, and waiting for the next video.
Five Stars!!! You guys are by far the best out there. I'm on the four year plan. I will be sailing the world in four years, but I don't want to be stacked up or in line with all the other cruisers. That's like shopping at Walmart. I want to explore the places most cruisers don't and that's exactly what you guys are doing. What an interesting place with wonderful people. And you hit the nail on the head, they are so rich in many ways. Thanks for sharing the pearls while you enjoy the oysters.
I watch a few of the popular sailing channels on UA-cam, and just discovered you guys. You are by far the best filmmakers! These videos are true pieces of art with stunning videography and inspiring prose in your narrative. It's also so nice to see true engagement with the local communities on your part and to hear them speak first hand about their lives. These things are missing from so many of the other channels. Keep up the good work guys!
Hey Guys, the Javanese woman (at 4:00) meant Jampanese which stands for Javanese (Indonesia) and not Japanese. Probably Javanese degenerated into Ja(m)panese because people from Indonesia have a harsh time pronouncing the letter V, and so they will say P. They Javanese people came from Indonesia (Dutch Indies in that time) as contract labourers, short after the abolition of slavery.
I rarely comment, but you deserve a compliment. We’ve lived in Suriname for almost 20 years and we still see it the way that you do! Thank you for showing its peoples strongest points.
you guys are a inspiration for me, that necessity of exploring the word just awakened in me. I want to know more about the word, I hope one day I can explore the word like (sea change).
I just love, love, love the feel of your videos, the ease, melody, and pure love and interest you convey. Every time i watch a new vid i have a sense as though i'm right there with you all. Makes me all warm and fuzzy. Keep it up! #1 in my eye.
Great storytelling and wonderful camera work. You left me hanging on why the locals kept you are arms length? Keep up the awesome job guys and fair winds!
Aw heck, I miss you guys. Love the way you capture the pride of the Surinamese with all the interviews. Happy (belated) sail-iversary, may the winds be in your favour - and if not - always providing you with a valuable lesson ;). Love to you all.
Big ups for you guys! Really look up to you, i am just 16 years old but have been sailing for as long as i can remember and as soon as i have enough money and have turned 18 i will buy a boat and sail the world!
Guys. Loving it all. Just wanted to let you know if you haven't already seen, your video of Landfall in Dominica has been blocked in the U.S. on grounds of copyright (perhaps due to music?) just letting you know. Would love to get fully caught up on the story 👍
We all have been waiting patiently for your next video. I can honestly say the best videos I have ever seen of traveling the world in the REAL places. Please keep up the good work and spreading the love to everyone. Pat yourselves on the back for your work but most of all enjoy the ride you are having. We will all sit here waiting for the next video and I can say I know you are all making a difference and having the experience of your lives. Happy New Years and safe travels from Omak, WA!
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing it. Every vid well worth the wait. Think I will watch it again. So many sailing video blogs now on youtube. Each has its story. Your story connects with me in a visceral way that I find hard to describe but know that it is so. Poetry. Art. life. Looking forward to the Amazon video. I know it will be..... worth the wait. Fair winds.
Ps. 2:28 No the woman wasn't saying anything that has to do with a mango, lol. She was saying that she has been looking for a dog for a long time. She can't go places. (mi no mang go no wan presi means I can't go places)
@@kennethwongatsoi4689 I guess it really should be determined by what "uneducated" means. Some of the most educated people I have met did not have much formal education, they were however the most enterprising and knowledgeable in things we take for granted.
Another great video guys! Great videography, story and best of all, the soundtrack is amazing and really enhances the experience of watching this episode! My B&W headphones were shining with the sound quality! Very well done. Thank you so much for sharing!
Just watched your video, I was born in Surinam and live in L.A. Just a correction (incase you don’t know by now) When in Domburg a lady said “we have Japanese” But she actually means “Javanese” I had to correct several of my own family members with that statement. Surinam hardly has any or no Japanese at all. It’s the same with “Jaguar” or “cougars “we have both In Suriname but they all say Tigri which translates into Tiger. We all know there are no Tigers in South America.(not that I know of). So when some Surinam people say Japanese or Tiger you know whet they mean😉.
As I bide my time topping off our boat funds, I have probably watched every sailing series on UA-cam. By far these few videos you have put out are the best I have seen!!! You guys go in deep, pull out the camera and engage the locals. That is always intimidating, and I commend you on the production. I hope you guys continue on! Thanks. Ryan.
Man its been months!! I checked weekly constantly to see if you guys uploaded!! Finally I get my dose of change!! Keep them coming!! Can't wait for thee next one!!
I like your videos very much, what an amazing adventure! I try to support you on UA-cam and Twitter, because your channel and idea are amazing!! I'm happy to see your next video. :)
You guys have really knocked it out of the park. Your videos really are well thought out, capture emotion through impressive video shooting and editing and really show the magic of adventure that still exists on our beautiful planet. You videos make me want to go out and do my own adventures. Thank you so much for what you have posted - please, please post more!!!!
Interesting that one of your shots of their stores has a "warung ____" sign. I remember in Bali their stores are also labeled such. . It's so far from Asia and yet they have the same word for "store". Great videos, just found your channel a few days ago and subscribed.
Great video! Never been able to sit through any of the youtube sailing channel videos without cringing with over the top douchbaggery. You guys have done a proper job of it.
Peter here - Good news - just found your channel - Good News just binged out catching up and Bad Bad news nothing left to watch. Amazing videos guys up there with the best NO above all the rest way better than the rest beautifully filmed - Well Done 👍🏼
Man you guys do nice video, I always watch and try to pick out your choices of camera angles, depth of field and slow mo effects. It all comes together so nicely. I met a fellow from Suriname this summer at a conference and was very embarrassed to have never even heard of his country. Very cool to see your footage and hear your impressions.
Great vid. Like minds! From land exploration I'm moving offshore into a MY, sailing not really my thing. Will be following u guys and hope to meet one day. Share a fire on a beach somewhere..... GBWU

Mireille Liong -- what language was that?
Sranan Tongo is the lingua franca in Suriname, the language that everybody speaks, especially the uneducated. Dutch is the official language.

Where are they now. I love these videos I'v watched them over and over becoming a cult classic for my girl friend and I. Also where is Chapter 4?!
I'm just wondering if you've been able to find anything on these guys since their last video
Sailing Pachamama They decide to stop making videos for their own reasons. But if you would like to follow their progress go to seachangelog.com
Sailing Pachamama Chapter 4 was blocked because of unlicensed use of music.
Go to their site . Its there !
