- Suriname is probably the most bizarre country I've ever been to. It's culturally and geographically unique - I did lots of cool things including cayman spotting in the Amazon, visiting the Maroon villages and drinking parbo on the waterkant.
As a German I approve of the beer bottle size!

Very happy ur putting my country in a positive spotlight. We as Surinamese dont know the interior. Too expensive. For the same price we can go to tge Dutch Antilles. Very sumple but nice video. Yessss we are the only country in the world where a sinagoge and mosk are in piece beside each other.
Don't forget you also was in the river with piranhas😄 so careful if you swim after you had a meal or if you have wounds. Btw awesome video the bike ride tho i skipped it and walk the entire plantation😄

There IS a "Visa-on-Arrival" in Surinam. You can arrive at the airport and pay 35 USD for a three month Tourist Visa... Just so you know!

I can appreciate the travel issues. I did volunteer work there in 2001/2002 and I recall the flight options were limited at that time as well.

I was born here in the United Snakes in 1941!! There was much difference between races . I went to an all black school with all black teachers . As I look back -- it was the best thing . Just when you think it was degrading- I found out it wasn't ,because we lived in the projects(very low income housing) I lived through a few racial riots !!! It is not all golden here, for non whites!! I hope to talk to you soon!!!

I was going to start visiting places in Africa and possibly Australia before something interrupted us all. Now my travel experience is still in the dozens of countries but not a single one of them is on the African or Australian continents. I really missed my chance.

Our new president Chan Santokhi has said that the Goverment will terminate visa policy for all nationality for more tourist to Suriname but they will have to buy a tourist card so we can earn somthing for our econemy. Most of us understand nd even speak English very well, as English is a compulsory subject in secondry schools in Surinam. Even our lingua franca Sranan Tongo is mostly based on English words.
