Not really. Their popularity is inflated because they beat the two most offensively challenged teams in the NBA for their first two series, not to mention the 76’ers always choking. It’s good for their development though and they could likely win a series next year, but I really find this team to a fluke just like the Heat last year.

Charles Barkley is an absolute treasure! I grew up watching these guys rock the court and now every time I see you all (and Elevator Ernie!) behind the desk, it makes every game better. Wish you would all be doing the finals too, but it's time for a well deserved rest. See you all next season :)

The 1 glaring problem with JC is his lack of ball handling skills....even in the post, he's constantly getting stripped and can't drive to the basket for an easy dunk or layup.....even Capella has better ball handling in the post than JC....hence, I don't see anyone offering him a max.....but OO will definitely replace Capella in 2 years or less....Capella's next contract is something the hawks can't afford

How TF is Nate McMillan STILL the "Interim" Head Coach? I really Like the Hawks, and Look forward to what they can do next season, but if Nate isn't announced as the Head Coach in the next 2 weeks, no matter how much money and years the contract is, I will be concerned about the Hawks

Agreed, I love the hawks they made a fan out of me the past couple years but they were the most fun to watch this year but if they don't resign nate I'll be floored. McMillan would've been silly to sign a contract before he knew his worth, in my opinion. Now there's no semantics both sides know how far nate can take them and they both saw his worth but if he'd signed and they'd made the finals? He more than likely loses money and/or opportunities with other teams. Hindsight is one thing but I like to think nate was betting on himself saying watch me make the finals then make me an offer.
When Nate was given the interim coach position he said he didn't want the permanent job because he was good friends with the coach who had just been fired. I'm sure he's changed his mind now.

Great season for this very young Hawks team. Just like every burgeoning squad with excellent talent and championship aspirations, you lose some before you win it all and the Hawks are no different. Now with solid playoff experience, this team will be back next season and the Finals may well be a reality.

@@curiousityman8327 Yes I agree, but then again I believe some players can benefit from showing up when their teams need them and if Middleton didnt make those shots, Reddish and the Hawks would have been able to close the distance and keep the series alive. Players are human and thats a situation that shows up for everyone, cant wait to see what happens in the finals. People going to dump on whoever doesnt win it all, but PHX is a perfect example of what believing can do to a team and my pick as the winner.

My prediction in the Finals is Suns in 5. Because it depends whether Giannis Antetokounmpo plays or not. I don't think he's gonna play with that hyperextended left knee. I gotta feel bad for him. But the Bucks showed the Hawks that they can win without Giannis. Giannis is only 26, he's gonna have plenty of opportunities for him to win a title in the next 10 years. But I want CP3 to win a title because he's been in the league for 16 years and at age 36, he has an opportunity to win his first ring. Chris Paul is a future Hall of Famer, I can give you that. I wanna see CP3 ride off into the sunset as soon as the Phoenix Suns win the Finals. Have him retire from the game of basketball a winner.
