Hi Jim, that's really kind of you mate, thanks a lot. Slainte to you too! I had to google that one as I'd never heard of it until now. :) All the very best!
That's very true Rob. I got so frustrated with the first two outings, new fields that I thought had great potential, but I left feeling quite deflated. There's another field that has yet to be harvested, nearby to the first field in the video. That one 'might' just have some potential too, but time will tell. Hurry up farmer!! :)
Thanks a lot John, I'm trying to improve the video and have received some good tips from Alaxander (Holzhammer Sagas), he makes some great quality videos.
:) another great video Andy so much better than a lot of others nice clear sound and film is nice and steady and most importantly in focus, keep it up mate .
Thanks Mark, do you follow Holzhammers Sagas? Alexander has given me some good tips with the filming, but his videos are better quality that mine. Well worth a look. :)
Hi Andy , well firstly i have no idea on the mystery item ? but a good selection of finds anyway i love lead finds dont know why i just do especially the good old spindle whorle , nice buckles to mate and another enjoyable video take care ATB Rob .
Hi Troy, I think it's just a very worn coin. The area up there is beautiful and I'd love to show more of the surroundings, but there are some well known features, so I have to be a bit careful. :)
Great video and description as always Andy. I have a suspicion that the small shaped square item you showed the FLO is actually a makers trade plate from a jewellery or a watch/clock maker. I have had one myself from a jeweller and watchmaker in Malpas (Cheshire). It dated to about 1830-1860. I will also reiterate what Clive said below - Easily the best filmed and edited videos regarding detecting
Hi John, it interesting that you've mentioned the jewellery connection, because I had a feeling that it might have been something along those lines too. I'm sure I recognise the shape, but I can't quite recall where I've seen it before. Also, it seems a bit too small to have been a harness decoration?
@@TerraBritannia I have been doing genealogy on my family lines for over a decade. So many of my lines go back to the beginnings of America, settling the colonies, then fighting for independence. I even found a Scotsman who fought on the British side. I recently found out that the only reason KG III lost us, was due to letting a Lord North deal with us and raised taxes far beyond our ability to pay them and build a life. Old George was not paying attention to his empire. Ha....just realized my dad was named George also.
It’s your personality as well as finds that makes all your videos worth watching. Slainte 🍷

Thanks Alan. This farmer is a bit quick cultivating his fields, they're only available for about a week, then they're drilled again before long :)

That george iii is in great condition, never had one in that good condition come up down here
Thanks Darrell, yes that was a really good find, they're usually very worn or very crusty. Thanks buddy :)
the squashed lead item is a civil war bullet the hole in the middle is where the clay gas check fitted
Brilliant, thanks very much Kev :)
Ha...that 1777 G III was minted when my ancestors were fighting for our freedom. Interesting.
Really? Do you have a family story to tell? It's a very interesting hobby, more so when there's some personal connection :)
