As a Christian, I find I shop more Kosher than non kosher foods. I love your videos because I find them very educational. Thank you ❤.
Yes, eggs were so expensive in the winter and spring I stopped eating them but much better now. In general though I find eating healthy is not unaffordable when I consider the junk that I don't eat as well as the long term health benefits. Thank you so for all you do and sharing your joyful Orthodox life. I love shopping.
I have been doing that more lately myself. I am also checking the products to see if it is kosher or not.
@@firebird189Eggs at Trader Joe’s are much less expensive than anywhere else. Even when the price was outrageously high, they were under $5.00 for jumbo. Everywhere else it was over $6.00. Their normal price for jumbo eggs right now is $1.99 per dozen.
@@ellenosceola5707 Thank you for the heads up. Trader Joe's is not far from me.
@@firebird189 You’re welcome. We love Trader Joe’s.
As a Christian, I found when I went into Kosher for Lent. I found it surprising because the food I was normally buying was Kosher. In my state the Kosher eggs came from a local farm and I found them more delicious. I stayed in a Kosher diet since my doctor was pleased with my improving health.❤ God bless you and your family 🙏
Your family eats very little processed foods compared the average American Walmart shopper. Most processed foods are far more expensive and far less healthy for us. I appreciate you showing that keeping Kosher does not have to be a more expensive choice.
I love that you share/make these videos and I have learned so much from you, especially in choosing produce and trying new vegetables/recipes.
Because processed foods it’s all that’s available to us. They are slowly killing the crops and pushing GMO crap down our throats
As I have watched past videos, I have often thought your grocery bill should be about $400-500 (USA) each week. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see it cost less. It’s also a blessing that you don’t have picky eaters. FYI: My favorite part of your videos is the way you keep your children’s privacy-smart mom!
Because she’s in Canada where things are cheaper. We are the only country overpaying for necessities such as food. Greatest country in the world 😒
I’m a Christian in the Southern US who grew up farming. We’ve always cooked at home. I was pleasantly surprised more at the fact that the Canadian prices were comparable to prices in the US. If you do the math your grocery costs equal around $10/meal (US $). And your home-cooked meals are so much healthier than processed meals plus you can control the ingredients. This was a fascinating video! ❤
Awww thank you to be here Emily! I am so happy you liked the video ❤️❤️❤️stay safe and blessed
Im a faithful moslem, wife n mom. Hits you high five. Bc most of conservative moslem family did the same. Shopping n beware with everything what we eat nor buy. For the sake of God. May God the One and only bless us. Aamiin
Your videos are inspirational to me. As a Jewish West Coast American woman who is trying to be more observant, I’m just inspired by how you can balance many home cooked meals, freshly baked challah on Fridays, Shabbat meals, a beautiful family and a successful career. Baruch HaShem for this technology that helps us be connected even from far away.
In Germany, celery roots are commonly used for soups and often sold together with carrots and leek as a "soup kit". I was really excited to see Kohlrabi in your grocery store 😂 Did you know you can eat it raw as a snack? If not, I suggest you try it, maybe with some hummus or other dip. It's crunchy and just really different and I quite like the taste! ❤
Yeasssss! We only eat kohlrabi raw in salads and with dips!
I love that you do it too!
Stay safe and blessed my sweet German friend!
Celery root, (we know it as Celeriac here in the UK) is very versatile. I see recipes for soups, added to roasted vegetables, and when I can get it, I also loved adding it with potatoes for mashing, or as part of Corned Beef Hash.
I find that if I add things like Celeriac, Sweet Potato, Carrots etc in with mashed potatoes, it's an easy way to get more vegetables in a meal.
I love shopping! Honestly, I thought it would be more expensive to shop kosher food for your family and so I was surprised to see the amount. Yes, and it was a wonderful moment to watch your daughters showing their affection to each other. I have two boys and could feel that moment. Have a nice week!
You've inspired me to start cooking more for myself and my family. I'm not the parent, but my parents both work a lot and I really love cooking. Fresh food tastes better and is healthier, and it's a way that I can help out my family.
Your parents are so lucky to have such a thoughtful and responsible daugter!
Bravo! What a considerate and kind inspiration. I started cooking for my family at about 10 and to this day, I love cooking. Cooking is love in action and it’s a gift for both the pallet and the soul.

I always find myself smiling by the end of your videos - thanks for that Sara! I think your total bill for 5 people was very good! I'm not Jewish, but you have ruined me: I love fresh broccoli, but never knew that after all my soaking and washing I would still be eating bugs. Yuk! Bless you Sara, and have a wonderful week.
I love shopping! The total was really not a ton more than what we spend in the US. You buy actual, real food, not a bunch of junk food, so your total was quite reasonable. I teared up when the girls held hands and I hope, as you do, that their relationship is always so close. ❤
i also was so touched by the girls holding hands!!! I pray it will be forever!!
have a blessed week TIna:) xoxoxoxo
You too, sweet Sara!! ❤😊
I am 67 and recently lost my younger sister. She was my bestest friend ever. I was blessed by God to have her. I hope your girls have the same blessing.
I luv your videos.
@@theresatumidajski5219I am so sorry for your loss and will pray for God to comfort you and bring you peace.
This was a really interesting video. I always figured kosher food was more expensive just because of the extra steps it needed to make sure it was, I guess, processed properly. It's nice to know for families who aren't as well off that it isn't breaking the break for them to be able to continue to eat kosher and practice their faith.
i am so grateful for your comment! THis was really my goal, to show: hey price is not a barrier to keep kosher it costs the same or even a bot less depending on your choices!
thank you again for being here!
xoxoxo
I think in France, kosher food is really more expensive than regular food, I do not have a kosher food store in my city, we are too small, or even saw a kosher logo in my 38 yo life, but I've made my homework and on some website, Rabbis are saying that it is around 10% more expensive than regular food in France.
@@yazdhenab. here in germany it depends, things like alav israel produkts are mor xpnsive- you find no kosher produts in normal shops, you have to look online, what is on the list and look at th ingrdians.
if you look at things lik choolat its 4-5 mor than normal .

Thank you, Sara, for taking us shopping with you and your girls! I love shopping! Another video in which I was "twice warmed"! Delicious food prepared to promote family harmony and health and watching your daughters enjoy themselves and each other. How wonderful, too, that a small prayer of thanks can be offered during a moment such as this and know that is it heard. Blessings to you and your family and friends.
Dr. Sara, I absolutely LOVE your videos and wait for them. I’m a Christian, but I love shopping Kosher whenever possible. The produce is fresher, and the meats have no antibiotics or steroids. I find a small difference in price here in Louisiana, with Kosher being a few cents more, but definitely affordable.
May you and your family stay blessed. The girls were so sweet doing the shopping with you. I’m like you; I check all expiration dates and take the last one too, lol. I, also, loathe the self check out, lol! ❤️🙏🏻🕍✡️
I have no religious affiliations, yet i love your videos. I can't say i understand how some of the ancient traditions hold true in the modern world, but i admire your faith and adherance. You are a lovely soul and i am glad i found your channel.
I love that you encourage balance in food for your children! It's so amazing that you are not teaching them that certain foods are "bad" and are just not as healthy 🥰
I'm sure that your children will have such a healthy relationship with food
Thanks so much!
I'm Costa Rican 🇨🇷 and this gives me a new perspective on Walmarts. They are very expensive here.
More than 500 dollars for a family of 4
I am Romanian, we use celery root frequently in our soups instead of using regular celery stalks. It imparts a stronger celery flavor.
I’m surprised, I was expecting it to be more expensive to eat Kosher, but you are a very savvy homemaker/ shopper . Thank you for taking us along and showing us how you do it!
This is so interesting! I'm Catholic, but I love the discipline that kosher brings- it seems to help focus on more healthy eating habits. I'm actually curious to try shopping for kosher now to see if it helps my eating habits.
I love shopping. I was surprised that it only cost 269 CAD to feed a family of four for a week of kosher meals. I was expecting something around 400 or 500 CAD. Many blessings.
At the end, I really wanted to stay with you and see you cook everything!😅Thanks for taking the extra time to research and sort out prices!
I saw your video on time blocking a while back, but wow. I am still so impressed by how you make time for all of the work the channel takes, along with being a wife, mother, practicing physician, and of course doing self-care practices.🥇🏆 You motivate me so much, Sara!❤
Family is very important to me....I am 75 years old and blessed to have a 77 year old brother and 66 year old sister...we are very close.
I ❤shopping
Sara, I love shopping!
Even as I am now waiting for a kidney transplant!
I AM THANKFUL as my NEUROBLASTOMA surgery was successful and I'm now in remission!
So much to be thankful for! I still struggle with being able to taste much (it's improving steadily), one thing I LOVE is poached salmon!
I am Jewish and keep KOSHER, but with the cost of health care in the states, I must choose often between my many RX'S and food...so no salmon for now!
I often explain to people that keeping a kosher diet is SOOOO much healthier, many times they thought it was only a religious thing! When they learn the facts it opens up avenues of beautiful conversation and even friendship!
Of course, my few chats with others do not hold a candle to all you do! You inspire thousands and I am blessed to have found your channel!❤❤❤
YOU also are loved and are perfect exactly as you are! Thank you for sharing your life, your beautiful kiddos and wisdom, you truly are living your life as HASHEM commands of us: "BE A LIGHT TO THE NATIONS!"
🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️
When you mentioned the total, I was genuinely amazed on how affordable it is! I love that. I would love to see how you meal plan, and organize things for your recipes and all that fun stuff for your family! I enjoy seeing your girls full of connection and happiness from the skipping and holding hands, and even helping you during checking out.
WOW! I did not expect those numbers. Thank you so much for this video. I've been working on meal planning and shopping to better budget and this was truly encouraging.
Close ties in a family are so important!!! My sister is my best friend - even now when we are both in our 40s. I homeschool my kiddos and it has created strong bonds (despite occasional friction - ok maybe more than occasional). The eldest (twins age 15) still enjoy spending time with their 7 year old brother. I’m so grateful!!!
This women is amazing I watch in awe she is so organized
Thank you for posting this video! This is why I love UA-cam. I am learning so much when I watch your amazing uploads, sharing all aspects of Jewish life. From a person who enjoys learning something new every day, thank you for expanding my education!
I think it comes down to meal planning more than anything. You do a lot more planning to keep kosher, and in the end that probably SAVES money - we eat takeout far too much or run out to buy ingredients that we forgot. Buying it all at once and not impulse buying (you're right - GREAT LIFE SKILL!) saves money in the end.
I love your videos! They are so calming and educational. ❤
Sara, i love your videos i feel the love and care you put into them. Thank you for your time ❤
Your shows confirm I want to continue in Sephardic traditions that I’m learning. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for such an in-depth story. Your stories inspire to take care more of the food I buy and eat, to optimize cooking (I absolutely loved your idea of a happy mom who's made a cake with a help of a cake mix :) ) and to complain less! Because if the mom of 3 + husband can make it, I can totally make it for just me and my daughter)
I so love your final comment on each of your videos. I am going to remind my friends and family that they are loved and are enough, just as they are. You are a lovely reminder, Sarah, of the goodness that is still in the world.
Shavua Tov! Really enjoy your videos. I love shopping :-)
Great grocery haul! You really are good at keeping within budget! We keep a 1/4 acre vegetable garden, and also raise chickens (exclusively for eggs). I am with you when it comes to “buggy broccoli” - I’ve given up growing it because it’s a bug magnet. I do grow several leaf vegetables (lettuces, spinach, chard) and I end up always soaking the leaves for ten minutes in a sink of cold water because the bugs feed and dwell on such are nearly invisible- I do such with purchased leafy greens during the winter for the same reason.
Sarah, I love your videos. They are so uplifting! After I watch one I come away smiling. For doing what you do, todah rabbah.
Definitely realised that shopping kosher isn’t as expensive as I thought ,I absolutely love your videos ,as a Christian I love learning about the other Abrahamic religions and I’ve always been interested in all religions I hope you had a wonderful Shabbat and have a wonderful week
Thank you so much Sarah! I learned so much! I might have to try some of your recipes sometime too.
Thank you for taking us shopping, Sara Malka! I don't love shopping but you do inspire me to organize myself more and plan out our meals more. On Central Vancouver Island, there was not as much of an egg shortage. There were definitely a smaller supply but we were always able to buy eggs.
I love shopping! You did so well for feeding a family of 5. I have learned a few things about kosher food from your videos. I absolutely loved seeing your daughters holding hands while shopping. Absolutely adorable. Thank you for sharing your time and family with us. Much love from Florida ❤❤❤
Love the video, as always! I love shopping, too! Shalom!
another great video. toda raba, sarah malka!
I hate shopping, but I LOVE your videos!!! I really would love to see some recipes - everything looked AMAZING and your family is so blessed to have a mama caring for them so well! ❤
This was so interesting! The bill overall is higher than it would be here in the UK, but I was surprised that eating kosher wasn't a lot more expensive. Thank you for sharing! Also very motivating as I start my meal planning for the week 😅
This was inspiring - I need to do better with meal prep before heading to the store. ❤
I love shopping
I love shopping. It is amazing how expensive food has become, kosher, non kosher, etc. and as you said, planning your meals ahead of time and shopping for these meals is a big step forward to help control the cost. Those impulse purchases add up.
I absolutely love your channel Sara, it’s like talking with a sister or friend. I’ve learned so much, thank you ❤️
Awww thank you so so much Adrienne 🥰🥰🥰
I just wanted to say that I find your videos so comforting. I even found your theme song on Apple Music and I often play it while I’m working. Also, my 16 yr old daughter watched your video on bugs in the food and she was so grossed out. Lol. It is a good incentive to get her involved in the food prep. 😊. Thank you for doing these videos. …. Lisa from Owen Sound Ontario
I love shopping & your videos ❤😊
You spend less to feed your family of 5 than we do, which was my thought prior to and at time stamp 14. Girls , thank you for your help with this week's video. We spend almost double because we are vegan, pescatarian, carnivores, and vegetarian.
I love shopping! I also loved watching your girls help you and Naomi skipping.....We shop as you do....not too many processed foods....keeping items in their simplest form. Thank you so much for sharing all your recipes and sharing your lovely family with all of us. Enjoy your week!
I love shopping and your videos and keep fruming it up
I love shopping and really enjoyed this video. Your girls are adorable and it’s so fun to see what others purchase. You’ve probably already eaten the food you bought, I hope it was delicious and filling. 💜
I love shopping! So great to see your daughters enjoying their time together as well as with you. Your voice is so soothing, and you made this shopping trip so comfortable. While I enjoy your "day in the life" videos, I find the videos where you share information about yourJewish faith very interesting. Thank you so much sharing this shopping trip, as well as your dedication to your faith. 🙏✝️
Thanks for sharing this information! One bad habit my hubby and I got into through Covid is ordering out for food. We're spending SO much on fast food deliveries, and aren't healthy at all. Watching this reminded me how much my husband enjoys my cooking, and how much I love preparing good food that makes both of us happy, and I need to do more of that! And also, will be so much cheaper than ordering out all the time. Thanks again!
Happy Sunday Sarah. Great video. I wish I had an influence like you when my children were little. I have 4 sons, 1 still at home. I try very hard to pick things to do that appeal to different ages. I do not love shopping, but I ❤ watching you!
I really love your meal ideas!
I love shopping! Thank you for sharing this! I loved every moment, it was truly a blessing to me, especially the end and the love that was shared! Shalom Aleichem ❤
You are so welcome!and thank YOUA TO BE HERE!!
It certainly pays to plan well, shop fresh and simple and be organised. I was surprised at how reasonably you can feed your family nutritionally balanced (and super tasty!) meals. A great inspiration.
I considered starting to buy kosher meats, because I'm told the animal is treated with humanity and respect. And I absolutely love that idea.
I love shopping. I learn a lot. Thank you.
I love shopping! Thank you for sharing your family! The girls holding hands and skipping was so sweet!
😊 thank you
I love shopping (and I still love bug-free food too)! I must confess I had no clue as to whether kosher food would be more expensive or not, but it makes sense it is if you are buying fresh and doing the preparation yourself rather than lots of pre-processed foods. I must confess I was suspecting it might take longer based on my own experience, but perhaps this is something that gets faster and easier over time. Unrelated to this video, based on one of your other recent uploads, I've recently purchased a two-handled cup which I keep by my kitchen sink and have been ritualistically washing my hands and saying the blessing both first thing in the morning and at other appropriate times (I'm being polite for UA-cam, but I am sure everyone can guess what I mean). We've got some restructuring on the horizon at work, and I've been really surprised how something as simple as netilat yadaim has helped me feel more stable through this uncertainty.
You are correct about how quickly you will learn prep of fresh produce. Cooking is easy. Steaming or roasting are very easy. I do not like processed foods anymore.
Love your videos.I love shopping.
I am so happy to follow your videos. Thank you❤
Happy Weekend to my wonderful Frummie family! Many MANY hugs to you all!
I pray that you are all well, you are happy, and that any trials and tribulations you face are quickly resolved.
The last day of June and the 1st 2 days in July are very big days for my little family, involving our anniversary, our "houseversary" (when we signed on our home), and our cat's birthday. (She's 2 today! She nearly didn't survive - and wouldn't have if, at 2 WEEKS OLD, she hadn't managed to get partner's attention, crying and starving and soooo sick with a severe URI... the vet was VERY surprised and happy she pulled through... thus her name, Caden - little fighter. Lol).
So, lots of celebrating and lots to celebrate!
For those adding to prayer lists, I'd like to keep Ernest on it - he lost his father to the big C and exactly 31 days later, he lost his mom as well (official cause was a clot thrown to her heart, but Ernest swears its was because her heart was broken).
He's very... lost right now and struggling. He's drowning in sorrow. While we are doing what we can to be there and help him through this pain, I know he would appreciate a bit of extra love and support from you all through the Almighty. Thank you everyone... much love to you all... you are all AMAZING. ❤
I am so happy for you to get to celebrate so amazing milestones!
Xoxox
Many more in good health!
And may Oscar find peace of mind and soul
Happy Birthday to your cat.
i will absolutely be praying for ernest 💔 this sounds like such a difficult time. but i’m so glad i was able to meet you and be at the premiere, happy anniversary and happy birthday to your lovely kitty caden 💕 also happy house-versary!!
@Korea4Me I am so, SO sorry for the loss of your fur-baby. Even when it's due to age and not something else, it's heart-wrenching. You're in my thoughts and prayers, and try focusing on all the joy that your precious one gave you while they were here. 🫂
I love shopping! I was surprised to find out that Kosher was less expensive, thank you for the lesson ♥
You are so welcome! and thank YOU to be honest some people just like to say no it is so expensive but when i looked online we are wayyyy less expensive than the USA and about parr with a family of 4 food bill in Canada : so not so bad!
thank you so much for being here!
xoxox have a blessed week Susan!
Hi Sara!!! I love coming home from work to watch your videos!! Have a wonderful day! 🥰 I’m editing my comment to say I would love to eat dinner at your home! That menu looks amazing! 😋
I love shopping! Another wonderful video. I also love the recipes you share. Have you ever thought of writing a cookbook?
Thank you for another informative, educational video, Sara!
It makes sense that planning and prepping ahead of time would result in a cheaper grocery haul, but even if that's not a strong point (see: me), the fact that you buy more fresh produce than pre-processed foods works in your favor economically as well. Unless you do most of your shopping at a specialty grocery store, produce at most supermarkets is pretty cheap. Even when we were economically worse off than we are now, we always ate well thanks to a lifetime of knowing how to cook good food for cheap and having access to fresh, cheap produce at the store as well as our home garden (something not all impoverished communities in the USA are fortunate to have). I did honestly think kosher food would be more expensive, given the extra steps required of it. Maybe do a video where you compare shopping hauls from the kosher store and a regular store to see how much more expensive (or not) kosher foods really are.
Also, even though I am not Jewish and do not keep kosher, I'm always diligent about washing my produce-especially greens. Even if the label says pre-washed, I wash it anyway. Greens by their very nature attract a lot of dirt and bugs. Whether they're homegrown or store bought, I have yet to encounter greens that weren't dirty.
Take care and be blessed!
yet another informative, interesting and enjoyable video - so appreciative you keep coming up with such great content and I wonder how you manage your time and energy so well keeping a home, raising children, enriching a marriage, working full time and doing UA-cam videos - you are truly amazing and many are enriched because of you and your efforts.
Awww thank you so so much Michelle❤️ your comment means so much to me ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love shopping! Another super video! Very surprised it was not more expensive! You cook A LOT! That helps immensely as does buying food as you said "in its simplist form" so good and healthy and so heartwarming to see your girls skipping and holding hands...you are so blessed! Love you all 🤗🙏❤️
I love shopping! It’s a delight to see you and the happy girls again. Thank you Sara ❤❤
J'ai effectivement trouvé que ce n'était pas cher pour une famille de 5 . Tu m'apprend une grande leçon 😄 Bénédiction sur toi et ta famille ma belle Sara!
good Morning Sara, Thank you for this informative video. The cost actually did not surprise me, I work in a Kroger owned store in the state of Arizona, so I see the prices daily. Honestly I was glad to see so many Kosher options available in your Walmart and IGA stores, much more than I thought it would be. Again thank you for a great video, Susan
you are so knowledgable in prices I am so impressed. Sending you huge hugs and kisses. Have a blessed week.
Thank you for sharing. All of the things you said about meal planning and picking whole foods are so true.
also, I always learn something new from you. You are a blessing.
thank you so much for the video. Have you shared the fried tuna patty/cutlet recipe before? I love shopping !
i’m so happy with your channel, i’m from syria we had a lot of jewish before in damascus, i heard a lot of good things from my parents, they were a nice and kind neighbours 😢 i’m so sad that they leave syria before years ago , they are a part of our culture, so i’m very happy with your videos because i can know about your traditions , and there are a lot of similarity’s to us ❤, sadly now only we have about 9 jewish persons , thank u again about your lovely content i don’t know how we are very familiar before.
Thank you so be here and to create more connections! Stay safe and blessed
My husband's grandparents came from Syria. They settled in Argentina, but my husband's parents then moved to Israel which is where I met him. We live in NYC now where there is a large Jewish Syrian community. It is nice to know that regular Syrian people (not government) liked and miss us there. Thank you for telling us.
I love shopping! I have two children, ages 12 and almost 16, and they are best friends too. I can only hope they continue as they grow up. We always make homecooked meals, and always make a point of sitting down at dinner to reconnect. I know my kids will one day look back on these times with fondness. Thank you for another great video, Sara!
You are awesome!!!
I agree with you in regards to so many food choices either no longer on the shelf or particularly over priced 🤦when available.
I'm not sure now a days if shopping Kosher or not is more or less expensive because my cost to grocery shop seemed to have doubled due to the higher cost for food in general. So in my opinion the jury is still out on this one 😂
I love your video. Thank you for your love and care in return my friend...be blessed 💖🙏
I love to shop! :D I am so charmed to see Naomi and Leah being loving sisters. May your entire family be blessed and joyful!
I love to watch the videos where you are out and about with your daughters. You always have such joy, and I thank you for sharing it. I expected the total to be around three hundred U.S. dollars, so I was a little off. I love shopping, but I don’t always love the prices. At our Walmart, you can buy a dozen eggs for just under a dollar. That’s a nice change from four dollars a dozen. For awhile, I could only get organic, cage free eggs, which were seven dollars for two dozen. I really don’t understand the pricing at some stores!
i am so happy for you your eggs are so affordable: maybe one day they will be again in Canada!!!
xoxoxo
i love shopping! this video was so amazing and interesting. i was expecting the total to be higher but i am so glad that your family is able to eat kosher and still stay under the national average for a week’s worth of shopping! my family of 5 spends about the same as yours (conversion equivalent) in the usa. it was so amazing to be in the premiere today as i usually have family obligations or classes to do during this time. a reminder to YOU sara: you are loved and you are enough just the way you are! 💕💕💕
Thank you so so much sweetie and really really I want to wish you a happy birthday and it will be a good story for you to have to tell your children later on in life I know that I still share my sweet 16 candle that was not so sweet that all hugs and kisses and have a blessed week
thank you sara 💕 i know it will be a fun story one day! spending today with you and all of our frum it up family was exactly what i needed to emotionally heal. so many hugs for you sweet friend and i’ll be praying that you have a blessed week as well 💕
I love shopping!!!
It's nice to see you back❤💐
I love shopping! Thank you for the video…I am so glad you are back
Your food always looks so yummy and delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
Your Bill made sense to me, I shop for 80 to 100 euro's a week for 3 adults and a cat. I also cook almost everything from scratch, that really makes all the difference! Thank you for showing how you do it, I learn a lot from your videos ❤
It’s so good to watch you again Sara and I tend to eat a lot more kosher foods!
I love shopping! Loved seeing your groceries 😊
At 14: I assume your costs for Kosher meals would be about average to what it costs for feeding a family of five. Definite advantage is less processed food. I would think the costs at a Kosher grocery might be slightly higher, because it is a smaller business. But not having to search for acceptable foods would most likely be worth it. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I pray for peace and love to strengthen your family.
I love shopping. I was surprised at the cost of kosher food. I shop at our local Walmart, which is right on the Mexican border. So the ingredients I can buy for many foods are more Mexican-based due to the clientele, of course. I love your videos. I love how organized you are. It’s just my daughter and I since my husband passed last year after 50 years of marriage. So our eating habits have changed immensely. A weekly menu is such a good idea but not always how we do things.
Dear Lizbeth: I want to extend to you my most sincerest condolences on the death of your beloved husband. May his memory be for an eternal blessing. Forever in our hearts. 💞
Thank you so much for being here with us and for being a part of the Frum it Up family and may G-d comfort you and bring you peace. Blessings💝
I love shopping!! Thanks, I also love your videos!
Sara, love all your grocery and food videos. Your prices are good especially with so much fresh produce.
Yes, things have been weird with eggs for USA as well.
WOW! I am completely shocked that it isn’t more expensive to shop Kosher! I 100% thought it would be. As a family of 4 in the central United States (Which includes 2 teenage boys!) I spend about $250/week, which to me, is crazy! I try to shop as inexpensively as possible while balancing meals, veggies and protein, etc. You did a fabulous job!
Dear Sarah
Thank you once again for the insight into your daily life❤
I think the prices depend a lot on the product itself. As long as products aren't industrially prepared (with lots of sugar, additives etc.) they will probably cost less whether they are kosher or not.
There's a kosher store in my city (Zürich) and it's quite expensive but I'd like to believe that people also choose products more wisely if they cost more.
that is so true ! the more expensive a product is, the more you are being careful in your choice and handling too!!!
I❤shopping, although not really. Hahaha. I thought your food bill would've been higher. Sounds like some great meals. ❤ed your girls holding hands & skipping. Precious, indeed. What a wonderful family God has created. Shalom.
Grocery prices are unpredictable. I live in a very popular city, Raleigh NC and fruit and veg are more expensive than where I grew up in NW Pennsylvania. I can only guess that the real estate prices impact the food prices. The stores have to pay rent, and here it is pretty significant. I don't know how it compares to LA & NYC. There are so many things that impact prices. I am really glad the bird flu epidemics has seemed to pass and egg prices are going back down. Does anyone in your community have their own chickens?
I love shopping❤. I was surprised it was less expensive to eat Kosher. As always, I learn so much from your videos and you inspire me to continue my own healthy practices. May you and your family have a wonderful week!
I love shopping! Great video Sara Malka! Have a good week!
Thank you! You too!
