    Thanks to this video I got one and really like it. So much so that I got them for all my cameras, tripods, monopod and the gimbal. I've used them for about 6 months now and they have been working flawlessly.
    It's such a relief not having to think about the different mounts and changing plates, just grab what I need and it clicks together.

    Been using some Neewer fast release plates for year now without any issue at all. They are cheap and reliable. But after I saw your video I got one of this based in two factors. Size (height is almost identical in both, but foot print is was smaller), the arca swiss base, ohh, and a third factor, they look way better than the neewer ones.
    I've walked so many miles now with my monopod on my shoulder and my camera on top via the neewer plate with confidence. I hope I feel the same way doing so with this.
    Got the 2 bases, 1 top setup. I'll let you know how it went.

    With the F38 did you have a good bit of 'play' or 'wiggle' when your camera was mounted to your tripod. Is the Pgytech different/better?
    I'm thinking of going to a quick release arca plate system if I can't get something quick, easy and small to hold everything together tightly, as if the camera and tripod are all 1 piece when fully secured.

    Really great video. I have also watched your video about the issues you have had with the Ulanzi Falcam F38. I was interested in that because I already own two Peak Design (PD) Capture clips...Pity that this quick release clamp doesn't accept the PD base plate, and that this PGYTECH base plate doesn't work with the PD clip. :(

    • @JohnLe
      @JohnLe  Рік тому +2

      I am not sure of the manfrotto tripod. but you can either remove its plate and screw this one in, or just screw the PGY baseplate on top of the other one and use it that way.
      what i do with my tripod is get rid of the OEM one, clamp the baseplate of the PGYTECH into it, and then use the quick release that way.

  • @LCExplore
    @LCExplore 2 роки тому +9

    have to say I find the different quick release systems really annoying... love the Peak Design capture clip, but they don't have a quick release that can be added to a tripod etc, PGYTech has a great quick release but the beetle buckle is awful and definitely cant trust the clamp mechanism on it... now to try the F38 quick release with the 2 in 1 plate that works with the peak design capture clip...

    • @JohnLe
      @JohnLe  2 роки тому +2

      I think most of it has to do with design and proprietary. in my opinion, the PGYTech quick release is the best in the market right now. I don't have the beetle buckle, but considering getting it. I am glad you said something. I have heard many great things about the PD capture clip, but you're right, PGYTech and PD don't really play nice i don't htink.

    Excellent and super useful video.
    Been using that snaplock system since it came out. Rock solid. Fitted my iFootage tripods with that, and the Pgytech plate fits the PeakDesign tripod nicely too (the PD plate however does not fit the Snaplock clamp). Was thinking of switching it all to the F38 system just because of their excellent Sony A74 cage, but after your previous video, i decided to pass and stick to the Pgytech snaplock system. And I since purchased their new Mantispod v2, which also has that same snaplock system.
