yeah pretty much! 2a03 is the famicom/NES’ base sound processor while vrc6 and mmc5 are expansion chips some famicom games used for extra audio. i recommend listening to the castlevania 3’s famicom and NES soundtracks back to back if you’d like a better understanding of how it all works haha
