  • Rafflesia is a parasitic plant that has no leaves, no stem and no roots. They parasitise tetrastigma vines, and are found only in primary forest. Although R. Arnoldii produces the largest flowers of any species (over 1m across), this was a fairly small flower, c. 70cm across. The flies are attracted by the smell of rotting flesh it produces.
