No intros, no outros just Timelapses of mealworms with funky music.
The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States in North Carolina and South Carolina. It catches its prey-chiefly insects and arachnids with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves, which is triggered by tiny hairs (called "trigger hairs" or "sensitive hairs") on their inner surfaces. - Розваги
Pretty much everyone else noticed it too but cutting the plant out of the dirt and having it fight mealworms is about the same as giving a man a spear, shield, and plate armor, then chaining him to an anchor and sinking him to the ocean floor to fight a giant squid.
Holy shit man the imagery on that one xD.
Just gotta “Rules of Nature” it.
🤣
Bruuuh are you a writer?? You just put a very clear scenery in my mind
I assure you, given the weapons and armor, the anchor is redundant. He'd sink like a stone anyway
Absolutely the best analogy! (poor murdered creature. 😔)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that plant was done wrong.
I am so sad for plant 😔😔 I love plants
@@eyluls6535 Me too. it's sad me.
Yess. I also think the plant was wronged lol.
My mouth literally dropped once I realized what was happening 😤 poor Venus fly trap 😩
It was dead anyway, it was flowering, that’s what the tall part of it is
As a lover of growing Venus flytraps I'm horrified that someone took such a magnificent specimen and condemned it to death there was zero chance of it surviving
Right? That's a very healthy specimen, and this guy just killed it for no reason.
The reason was very mild Internet notoriety.
Have to admit it was a beautiful flytrap plant
It could have been executed much more interestingly at least. Like I could see this being done as a piece of media intended to stimulate various sensory responses in people because of the almost teratophilic empathetic response carnivorous plants evoke in many people along with the general reaction folks have to things like mealworms. It could have artistic merit or at least value as a decadent neurological treat for which sacrifices were made. However the lazy setup, uninteresting dynamics, and sped up corny music makes it all seem like it exists for clickbait only and while it has some value within that context as a sample of the format it is overall kind of disappointing compared to the potential I could see for it.
Yup, at the VERY least, the mealworms should have been left in "meal" ie flour or other grain, not piled on top of each other like that, I mean it's not like the mealworms can survive their life cycle like that, so totally unnatural! I have mealworms for my birds, if I don't pull the pupa out when they form, the younger mealworms eat them before they can become beetles & that's even with food/living space, but a little crammed for efficiency, so what was the point of this?
I've never fed a live mealworm to any of my carnivorous plants, I'd worry they'd eat through the trap, so it would have been interesting to see if that is the case/what happens when every trap here is full of mealworms, but just dumb to starve the mealworms & force them to consume the flytrap for moisture (which was actually what they were doing, rather than eating it, I give my mealworms carrot bits for that)
I've never felt more sorry for a plant in my life 😢
I'm so happy that almost everyone here rooted for the flytrap
Yeah cause like there was no root
Connection terminated.
I'm sorry to interrupt you Elizabeth, if you still even remember that name. But I'm afraid you've been misinformed. You are not here to receive a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume. Although you have indeed been called.
You have all been called here. Into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near, yet somehow out of reach.
But you will never find them, none of you will. This is where your story ends.
And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you. Although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well, I am nearby.
This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away. As the agony of every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors: Be still and give up your spirits, they don't belong to you.
For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps more waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don't keep the devil waiting, old friend.
My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry that on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms the way you lifted others into yours. And then, what became of you.
I should have known you wouldn't be content to disappear, not my daughter. I couldn't save you then, so let me save you now.
It's time to rest. For you, and for those you have carried in your arms.
This ends for all of us.
End communication.
I hate venus flytraps.

These plants cannot eat too much or else they'll die. If every single one of these traps were fed at a time, the plant would probably die of an overdose of food.
But it could certainly eat quite a few worms with its traps.

So difficult that it costs me 5 bucks to buy one in that size?
How is it difficult?
@@AngelaGiftit requires heating humidity rainwater. Then it needs insects once a month at least. Much harder than any other plant that just needs water

RIP my friend , Your sacrifice would be remembered for ages
I'm just curious, how does one accumulate so many mealworms?
As someone with a lot of meal... it aint hard
It looked like the venus fly trap needed water not only survive, but to thrive amongst the gang of mealworms. It was dry and outnumbered. It probably died of thirst before it died of mealworms. 🙏🏽🕊️🥺
Tbh, I think it was more likely that it ate to much at one time, because it breaks down its food, that had to have been way to much acid with every pod looking like it got a worm, in the end, my money is on indigestion problems

Venus Fly Trap: _eats a couple mealworms_
The remaining mealworms: *and I took that personally*
The time lapse shows that the durability of a flytrap is enough to keep up with this many critters, it was only when it died of thirst and malnourishment that it got weak.
The plant started decomposing and thats when these meal worms had an advantage, their food was breaking down infront of them and making it easier to chew.
I always wondered why in nature, bugs dont just chew their way out of a flytrap,
And I guess I found my answer, theyre durable enough to withstand biting, or, their surface offers no leverage for a bite to clamp down on.
I'm actually not sure if those meal worms managed much progress at the end of the video, looks about the same as it did when it fully dried up, I think the venus won here.
My man literally killed some perfectly healthy fly traps for views 💀
Now he can buy several more fly traps with the money he got from the views.

I don't understand the thought process behind this person's mind. If you know how long each trap takes to digest an insect how do you expect it to stand a chance here? Of course the poor plant will get eaten before THOUSANDS of worms do. Also it's even less fair for the plant when most of its traps were already closed from the start
This wasn't an experiment! THIS WAS MURDER!
Why you're caring so much bro ! BTW plant is not conscious , on the other hand maggots are conscious creatures. This man is just sick and performing experiment on anything for views and pleasure.
@@jude4736 oh he's sick alright! Idk I just really love the VFTs. They're not conscious like humans but any life thrown away for no reason is a real shame.
@@juanzilla6436 agreed. Doing this in the first place is just murder. Its either cruel to the worms or the plant. Seeing the plant become duller and seeing it die was kinda bad.
@@marsh49 so stepping on grass is murder? Or picking a flower

Venus Flytraps: yay! We’re at the buffet! 😊
Mealworms: Yes!, yes, we are! 😈
I got a feeling that if it was a more common plant that's easier to care for, no one would bat an eye. We're definitely biased lol
Considering flytraps get their energy from light and water and not the bugs they eat, this wasn't really a fair fight.
@Pintu Rajput they need very little food and are easily overfed from my understanding.
Yeah, they get minerals from the bugs not energy, this video is epic fail
They actually need both... Like all plants they obviously need light and water, but they also get certain vitamins and minerals for the bugs that they consume.
I was expecting a 4 month timelapse of the fly trap slowly eating all of the worms - doesn't it take days just to digest one worm?
Mine dried out almost like this, but darker - then my uncle threw it away, "Well it's dead!!", he said.
So I was content for awhile until I read that this is what they actually do! They look dead but in process of sprouting newer ones!
...but that one in the vid looked prety darn fried though...
Not sure what you expected, the fly trap was only ever going to consume as many mealworms as it had traps since it take so long for the plant to digest and then re-activate the trap. This outcome was guaranteed without ever even needing to test it 🙄
What was wanted was views… people will do anything to get views and the potential to earn money for this stuff.

Those things are super rare and endangered in the wild, that video was murder. Not cool!
@@timothyharris1125 agreed. They are endangered in the wild as a result of local farmers around here picking the wild flowers and cultivating them for export. These plants are not hard to find in shops and the like, but it results in things like this where people actively kill these plants, but farmers still get their dollars so they keep breeding them for irresponsible people.
They aren’t rare.
Of course, this wouldn't work.
1) The plant is too small
2) it has no water, soil and sunlight key components to survive
3) a fly trap that small takes a long time to digest insects
Idk why you said that a flytrap that size takes a while. It's a flytrap at any size lol. Plus that's an adult plant which you can obviously see from the big flower.
That plant needs water and sun light but it doesn’t need soil

Taken out of its moist and humid area the Venus flytrap had no chance as it started to dry out at hour 4, if this was done by putting the worms in the Venus area could give a different result, Venus wouldn't make it still but it would have a better chance, depending on soil packing roots will be accessed no matter but time of them being reached could give a benefit to how long it would survive, even half the amount of worms would be cool to see!! It's intetesting how the traps themselves stayed mostly intact, as if the mealworms had no interest in them. They looked dried out more than chewed up, and that one mealworm that got caught at the beginning wasn't even released.
Poor plant. It tried so hard but died in the end. Sigh, in the end, even humans will end up like this. No matter how hard one tries to escape, death will always catch up. One day, just like the plant, we humans will be eaten by worms. This is a highly philosophical and enlightening video.

@Hut exactly my point! The person saying its murder by default has to be a murderer. They do far worse than what we saw here. Yet don't have the wherewithal to grasp that. Everything kills. Humans are taught not to kill other humans and certain things otherwise he would kill each other like we do flies or rats in the pantry just trying to eat. All while not thinking twice about it.
@Hut and to take it one step further. Most people know exactly how chicken nuggets are made and where they come from. They like me just don't care. If you pluck its feathers I'll ring it's neck and bleed it. I just find the microwave version easier. People aint dumb 4 year olds know that nugget was at one point a breathing chicken.
