He's not ever been 'Snubbed' at the oscars. Just simply every time he's given a great performance someone else has given a better one.
I have to argue he was snubbed by his own co-star, Christoph Waltz, for Django Unchained. Leo clearly gave the better performance in that film and should have been nominated, and won, for Best Supporting Actor in 2012.
Many people, including myself agree that Waltz gave the better performance in Django, He was the single most important part of that cast IMO and he delivered brilliantly and rightfully won the Oscar.

The Spectator I'm going to explain to you how the Oscars work, because you obviously don't fucking understand. 5 performers get nominated in a category every year. Leo is always the leading man, so he's always in the leading role category. He's got 4 nominations (What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Wolf of Wall Street). He's been beaten by Tommy Lee Jones for the Fugitive, Jamie Foxx for Ray, Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland and Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club. Most people who bitch about Leo not having an Oscar are usually 12 year ols who haven't seen WEGG, which is the only film which you can make an argument for him winning. Jamie Foxx and Leo both featured as public figures who had biopics coming out the same year, both performances were good, but Foxx won because Ray Charles is liked more than Howard Hughes universally. To then say that he should've beaten Forest Whittaker or Matthew McConaughey in 2007 and 2014 is hilarious. Leo's Inception performance was flat , and could've been played by anyone, which is why he wasn't nominated, he was terrible in Gangs of New York, his Boston accents in The Departed and Shutter Island stopped him from getting nominations, because his accent was "wicked bad". He probably deserved a nomination for Django in the supporting category in 2013, but PSH was much better in the Master, while Christoph Waltz ended up winning anyway, so he would've been beat again. Keeping all of this in mind, when should he have won?

Mark my words: Leo is NEVER going to win an oscar for a Martin Scorsese movie. Don't get me wrong I love their movies and Scorsese is one of the best directors of all time. But the Academy constantly missunderstands his movies. Leo doesn't care about winning an oscar, he won't win for a Scorsese movie but he keeps working with him because he loves it and because he doesn't care about awards.
He is going to win for a movie from a different director - I'm sure of it. For "The Revenant" his chances are much higher than for his Scorsese movies. And even if he doesn't win this one, he is definitely going to win someday, just not for a Scorsese movie.

will go down as one of the greatest acting performances of all time. I still watch it 3-4 times a year. I loved dallas buyers club and mcconaughey's perfromance but Leo 1000% got robbed. Academy didnt wanna give it to a movie that was so raunchy and didnt really have a good message. His performance was quite literally perfection in acting. (IMO)

Then moved to Matin Scorsese being a risk-taker and potentially persuading Oscar-voters to understand that The Wolf of Wall Street is a ballsy, risk-taking movie made by one of the most respected directors. The music playing when he walked up the stage definitely helps as well. Great speech.
