The men in the band wrote most of the songs and the ladies then sang them resulting in one of the most well known bands in the world.

several things to say about "Chiquitita" (1979)
Chiquitita" means 'little girl' (with affection) in spanish And the melody have a spanish tune, specialy by the acustic guitar But the center is the wonderful piano, like almost all ABBA songs
"Chiquitita" is a beautiful song, it has hopeful lyrics, a melody that starts very soft with the blonde Agnetha's solo, then grows and explodes in a powerful chorus; Agnetha & Frida's vocal harmonies are of excellence
It allows us to check how excellent singers the blonde Agnetha & the brunette Frida are and what harmonies of excellence they achieve. It stands out especially when they stretch the monosyllables with great quality and beauty
"Chiquitita" was premiered especially for the UNICEF Concert (January 9, 1979, just 45 years ago!) and its royalties are eternal for UNICEF
"Chiquitita" was ABBA's greatest success in Latin America, that prompted ABBA to record it in Spanish, and its success was so extraordinary that in the following year ABBA recorded a full album with their best songs entirely in Spanish
("Chiquitita" in Spanish is the biggest ABBA hit in My country Argentina)
Chiquitita" is in the Top 3 of all ABBA worldwide biggest hits, with 'Dancing Queen" and "Fernando", and it's a fantastic Masterpiece
These official video was filmed in Swizterland 1979 (ABBA goes for a TV Special)
It's the only promotional video that ABBA made without Sweden

ABBA's "Chiqitita"'s out of sight (behind the ⛄️?;) percussion thrumping like sound waves into that energetic piano is enthralling! (& "The Day Before You Came" is very different, but hear it as well?;)
They also perform a Spanish language version that's just as great.
About the setting, this is from TV, ABBA Snow Time Special.

I love ABBA but Chiquita is my favourite
ABBA - many covers, much discussed - but such a large, famous group (two married couples each) has never been equaled in terms of singing and composition. Many experts in the music industry have tried, but the structure of the songs and the instrumentation were not achieved.
AND after many years had passed, ABBA had a reunion. They were on stage "as AVATRE" (I think in London) and released two extraordinary songs - "Don`t Shoot Me Down" and "I Still Have Faith In You" ua-cam.com/video/pAzEY1MfXrQ/v-deo.html with very emotional, moving videos - MUST WATCH!!

great song and reaction. love me some ABBA. not sure how much you know about them. they were 2 married couples from Sweden. the auburn haired girl was married to the pianist and the blonde girl married the guitarist. the name ABBA come from the initials of their first names

try other hits like "Fernando" "Name Of The Game" and of coarse "Dancing Queen" the guys wrote all their songs and played many instruments and did backing vocals. the girls both had beautiful voices and took turns on lead vocals but when they harmonized together it was known as ABBAs third voice. no one harmonizes like Agnethea and Frida. Frida was also trained in opera and jazz

Frida’s having real trouble with that wind, but styles it out!
What is truly amazing is the girls could not speak or understand English so when they learnt a song and sung it, it was all done phonetically.

My favourite ABBA songs are the one's showing off their voices the dance Pop ones not so much.
Great reaction. You need to also analyse some of Abba's songs particularly their harmonics as they're not as straight forward as it may seem. Try Angel Eyes is this respect.

Am I the only one who noticed that already 4 days ago a guy from this channel reacted to Chiquitita? Today a girl from this channel reacts to Chiquitita... 😴 Why can't you react to a song together, so that there is not the same song on the same channel twice within 4 days?
I noticed but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t understand why it bothers you to hear a same song twice. The reactor is a different person, isn’t he? And you are not forced to listen the songs by anybody.
@@teromattila3657 I didn't watch the reaction, I'm only here to write my comment because it's getting more and more boring to see a Chiquitita reaction every day and now even twice at the same channel. As if ABBA has no other songs. But I could bet that the next reactions will be The Winner Takes It All, Gimme x3, SOS, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen... So there will be no subscription from me for these channels. I wish more reactors would dare to react to the lesser known ABBA songs instead of always the same ones.
