Edit: Please read this section regarding invincibility, a few comments stated I was wrong about the invincibility timings and that the invincibility sigils don't stack together so the numbers are way off. They are correct I just tested it and I was wrong. I was hasty in my tests and just looking at the screen and counting it myself when doing that part of the video which was foolish. The default invincibility time is about 3 seconds in this game, from the start of the spark to the end of the invincibility icon leaving your players status bar. You can push this number an extra 3 seconds ONLY with either Nimble Onslaught, Nimble Defense or Dodge payback. So only pick one of these, I'm sorry for the misinformation I know most people probably won't look at the comment so I probably misled some people now and I feel bad. I see the comments and I'm sorry again. The information regarding people able to perfect dodge after the parry and extend it with one of the sigils will work though, the timing of the invincibility will only be around 6 seconds so again, only use one of the invincibility sigils. Thank you for reading and sorry for the misinformation. Couple things I'd like to note about the new tech. I do have footage of using it against some boss fights, might plan on making a short showcasing it, I wanted to use it in this video but I just felt like the training dummy footage is a lot clearer of when it's working or when I messed it up so that's why there is a lack of boss footage for that segment. Now about the tech itself I've used it against Pyet-A, Quakedile, Scarmiglione (the skeleton guy): - In the video I talk about how the tech works as long as the hit of the parry goes through, you can parry ranged attacks as well to bypass them but I was unable to get that to work reliably(the invulnerability, not the parry), this could be due to me being slow or maybe you need to actually connect the hit of the parry to the boss, on the quakedile I had no problems getting this technique off in the overdrive sections during rolling or other attacks, not against the boulder throw or sand breath move though so it's very possible this doesn't work on projectiles, or it only works if you parry and make contact with the boss through said parry. - On Pyet-A because it is a bipedal with only the legs available as proper hitboxes sometimes the invul would not proc for me due to not making contact so this is why I feel strongly about the point above but this is just my personal experience with some limited testing, someone else might report differently. There were times where it did or when I blocked projectiles close to the boss and was able to make the tech work though such as during its overdrive phase where it has the little pool around it. - On repeat procs of the tech you can't go into parry unless you stop all movement, in the video the way I re procced my invulnerability was just by dodging into the move. It's a bit tricky to get right but the way I was timing it was by dodging on the final hit of the combo finisher where Yoda dashes in. This is all I have to log rn, but if for some reason I find out more I'll update this comment.
As a fellow Yoda main just a few tips for people, you can spam flashing void now you dont have to time it perfectly to get the next hit since the last update, if you have problem getting to the combo finisher because you keep getting hit use stout heart and you can combo to your hearts content without worrying of getting hit by the boss if mirror image is on CD, BEST tip i can give is when you get to Yodas' bayblade attack dodge first to reposition/ get closer to boss BEFORE using the combo finisher to make sure you hit the boss and get your shroud, you waste about 1 second of dps by doing this but you will get your shroud, worst feeling ever is when you do yodas long combo then missing your combo finisher, your losing about 350-400k damage when you miss his combo finisher when your full build with max dmg cap.
I think Yodar biggest benefit is the sheer amount of invulnerability he has.. He literally has a skill that lasts 10+ seconds and makes him invulnerable the entire time.
Yeah he has a lot of ways to just bypass mechanics which I think is cool, that and just having a pretty versatile skillset where aside from the attack buff I don't think I'd be confused why somebody was running any of his other skills. Sure some do more damage and all that but most of them have a form of utility aside from just damage which is something I value
They probably don't have the invulnerability lasting that long because his playstyle would be very auto pilot if you never had to worry about being hit out of it. I could really see it just being like you will dodge cancel the beyblade slam and just keep spamming combo finisher over and over which I think would hurt his freestyle combat. That's just my opinion though
@@IMRavnos That's just spreading mirror images at max charges.. His 10 hit combo doesn't say but it makes you completely invulnerable for the entire combo.
I actually had no idea about the guard dodge cancel tech, thanks for the guide! funny enough tho I did start trying to get in the habit of dodge offsetting after the counter because the vulnerability after the counter is just so annoying to deal with. This is really cool tech tho imo I kinda wish they would just give more s on the countermove. Even without this tech, in the current state you would basically need to get used to dodge cancellling the counter regardless, which feels so unintuitive
I do think it's weird that Yoda didn't have s off his counter such as how the charge attack characters do get Iframes from it. If I had to guess why I assume it's so differentiate the characters more. Like Yoda doesn't have the invincibility but he does get supplementary damage off of the counter where other characters don't on charged parries or other stuff if that makes sense? Thats how I perceived it. I'm glad the guide was helpful to you! Yeah I wasn't sure if everybody knew about the guard dodge tech unless you're heavily checking all granblue content or something so I figured I'd show it off since it Segways nicely into the Yoda cancel and it's easier to understand if you know one in my opinion. The counter itself is cool it does offer a lot since you get to the final form of Yoda's combo but the lack of invulnerability does hurt it without stuff like this. Thank you for watching man!
Good catch on the tech. I never would have thought to trigger perfect dodge off a parry. I personally don't like Flashing Void. I know its good but its also an extreme case of you must have 3 marks to make using it worthwhile. The damage difference between full and no marks is huge and the attack itself animates for ages. With the sigil that gives 75% mark retention I prefer Sky Shatter so I can use it as a quick way to advance my combo flow and start building up to 3 marks.
Sky shatter is fun and I do like that it's a move with some range as well, the only thing I'd say I don't like about flashing void is that because some attacks take you in the air on some horde fights you can just see yourself completely whiffing short targets on the ground. Other than that I think it's fine but I do agree the Animation does go on for a long while and his other skills are a bit more instantaneous. This last part is more of a personal thing but I also just like getting the timing right it's satisfying to me Edit: I hope the tech helps you out if you choose to use it, I find it pretty useful in most situations
You need to hit sky shatter 3 times to have the same dmg for flashing void not to mention the invincibility frames..also if your using ANY if your skills without 3 shroud marks your doing something wrong, except for awakening and mirror image on emergencies.
Trice blade is still useful after dmg cap due to his mastery upgrades the his SBA a SIGNIFICANTLY higher dmg cap. That's an interesting way to build him, how many times do you get the SBA per mission? Nice video! I think that yodarha is one of the characters with the most skill and personal expression in the game atm. Didn't find your tech (thanks for sharing, going to try it as soon as i can) but one thing i discovered is that you can hold the block button, than hold the lunge/parry button and if you actually use the parry too early you will still be blocking during the lunge. Maybe you can incorporate this tech in the one you found ;)
I'm glad the tech is new to you I hope it helps you out when you try it! What you're bringing up is interesting, kind of reminds me of engaging in a fighting game like guilty gear with air dashes and then blocking. I'll definitely have to try that out, something like that seems like it might not be Yodarha specific too which makes it cooler (this is assuming it happens due to its interaction with the lunge movement. If that's the case there's a chance it could be used with characters like lancelot. This is just a guess though) Edit: just one question, do you mean the parry needs to activates off a hit? Or you just hold the guard button and while doing that you use the lunge. I'm sure it'll make more sense once I try it out for myself I learn better by usually trying stuff out. Regardless thank you it's really cool to learn other unique mechanics like that!
@@Akholyte yeah while holding the guard you then tap/hold the lunge. You won't be blocking while holding the lunge button but you will be blocking while actually lunging forward, so is mostly a failsafe in case you release the lunge too soon, won't help if you release too late. As far as i know this kind of tech is applicable to a lot of moves, you can be blocking while attacking and you will actually block any hit coming your way, the only reason i don't really use this tech with yoda is because you will actually lose your combo so its better to dodge. edit: Maybe i should try to use this tech with something like Empty Mist or Awakening so that if you get hit while performing it at least you won't take damage and be staggered. But also probably it would be just better to go for a perfect dodge
Your edit makes the tech sound like it has some good uses to get the longer lasting moves off which is nice. It is interesting that this works within the games mechanics so it's definitely something I'm gonna mess around with today, losing the combo on yoda isn't great but maybe on some other characters this has some good uses. Maybe there's a way to get this to work with block sigils as well which might be fun
Ok so i managed to test some stuff. The guard tech is better than expected, if you hold guard and then hold lunge you will be blocking for as long as you keep the guard held, so you are covered both while standing still and while lunging. You can also guard while using empty mist and awakening. Now i will try to incorporate your tech in my gameplay ;)
Yeah I just did and it turns out I was wrong, I didn't know about that and I didn't make sure myself that they stack beforehand, that's on me sorry and thank you for pointing this out!
just something to add. I saw this on a lancelot vid I watched and not sure it applies, but flight over fight might be worth throwing in there for someone who cant get the timing down. The 50% gets offset by tyranny and it might make it easier for someone not as good at timing the dodges
Super helpful tip! Some other commenter brought up flight over fight but it wasn't something I messed around with when recording for this video, it definitely will be for my own lancelot vid since that's who I'm experimenting with now and I definitely see the value especially with how easy it is to reach damage cap. Thanks for this!
Ive been experimenting with flight or fight and Dodge payback, Nimble Onslaught. The only concern I have is yeah you reach most dmg cap but link and SBA takes a hit. Unless you get the dmg buff. Which is hard since boss are not attacking while you are dmging them.
good tip about the dodging after a parry to get invincibility + supp damage buff + go straight into combo. I've been struggling to use the parry on certain bosses (like the combined mag + gallanza fight) because of all the lingering hitboxes in that fight interrupting the attack, so this is a big game changer. funnily enough i never thought to do that even though i was already doing basically all the pieces, just not all together.
Yeah me too it just came to me randomly while I was messing around with the training dummy, after the Macht canceling thing with percival I was like ,"other characters gotta have some sauce". I already thought yodarha looked cool so I figured he was a good character to start with. Pleased to say he didn't disappoint. The tech is so cool for the duo fights, even the ice and wind dragon one because there is a lot of crowd control so being able to ignore it and do other stuff is amazing, makes Yoda one of the coolest characters so far to me!
It should work. This wasn't like the other characters techniques where it's from animation cancelling a skill or a move to further increase the combo. Best way would be to test it out in training mode, if you can do the guard cancel tech try this afterwards and it should work if the former works.
i wonder if we can make a build with that sigils than augment damage the less skill you have, like Stoicism to prevent to get out of our combo, and some drain life to heal yourself while hiting and while being invulnerable with the finisher, i'm to lazy t grind tho ^^
It's probably possible, I'm sure they didn't include it in the game for no reason. The only reason I'm personally hesitant to go that route is because for some characters it just seems like they might not play as fun with no skills, like Percival would be dead in the water being a normal attacker.
Invincibility data is a bit off. Nimble doesn’t stack with other buffs because they proc at the exact same time. So I believe you’re still at 6ish seconds of invincibility (stopwatch testing)
You're correct, I tested it myself just now to make sure and I was off, I guess it looked like it was more due to a placebo of having both sigils on. That's on me, thank you for the correction!
Yeah 6 is better than nothing but it definitely would've been cool if there was a way to get even more. Means I can slot some other stuff instead though so that's nice
@@Akholyte I believe we have different builds but I ended up slotting an improved dodge with nimble, and running fight or flight (yodas attack caps can be hit pretty early) I really like it
I'll try that out, I haven't used fight or flight much but it sounds like it could actually be huge for this kind of tech damn. I wish I thought of that beforehand! Thank you for the comment that's a really cool way to probably enhance this. I have been experimenting with combo booster a bit since it's just hit oriented over like actual combos and I've been having fun with that as my dps sigil. There's a lot to this character which is nice to see and technically while builds are a little stagnant with things like damage cap, there's different ways to hit said cap and do different things with characters. That's a whole other tangent though.
Use the exp books in your inventory on the characters you'd like to level, I've been leveling my characters normally because I'm weird but I believe the books are farmable from the medal shop so you should be able to use those
Toward the end of the video, you mention equipping multiple invincibility+ on dodge sigils to extend it. This info is a bit misleading since the game doesn't work that way. There are 3 invincibility extending dodge sigils in the game. Nimble Onslaught, Nimble Defense, and Dodgy Payback. The invincibility they provide do not stack with each other. The game will take whichever one offers the max seconds of invincibility after a dodge (3 max) and prioritize that. I've personally found Nimble Onslaught to be the most useful out of the 3 options. Otherwise you're best off slotting for Damage Cap, War Elemental, and Supplementary damage afterwards. Also nice to have Flight over Fight.
Thanks for pointing out the misinformation, I read this comment and went to test this the moment I had some free time and you're right they don't stack. I should've used a stopwatch to test this out and I probably would've avoided this mistake. Sorry about that!
I haven't played around with Rosetta too much so I couldn't say I'm sorry. The best thing to do would be to take your entire party into the training dummy and see if you can improve her healing with some sigils
@@Akholyte im still working on your guide video to achieve best build, so it will take a while to figure that out Im a fucking SIMP healer all i dream about when i sleep is to heal everything everybody in any game
You can totally run supplementary damage if you have it, and I am not saying it's bad but I just like having other stuff in my kit personally. Technically he has supplementary damage already in his kit because of the parry so there's that. It's not as much damage as if I ran the sigil but unless I get a 5+ with a good subtrait I'm not stressing it
If you wanna build just damage yeah you can put it on. A misconception this playerbase seems to have is that you must build damage to it's maximum for no other reason than more damage. I've cleared the whole game without a completely optimized build and still had a good time doing so. Play however you want but calling it "coping" because I'm not trying to enforce the dps only mentality is corny lil bro.

edit: Maybe i should try to use this tech with something like Empty Mist or Awakening so that if you get hit while performing it at least you won't take damage and be staggered.
I've heard that the nimble onslaught and nimble defence increased invincibility don't stack, it may be worth double-checking that.
Which is hard since boss are not attacking while you are dmging them.
running glasss cannon and Flight over Fight plus a bunch of Nimble traits. its been good
Sounds risky but fun!
good tip about the dodging after a parry to get invincibility + supp damage buff + go straight into combo.
Great tutorial! Does this still work after the balance patch?
It should work. This wasn't like the other characters techniques where it's from animation cancelling a skill or a move to further increase the combo. Best way would be to test it out in training mode, if you can do the guard cancel tech try this afterwards and it should work if the former works.
@@Akholyte Look forward to it after my shift. Yoda is so fun. :)
as far as I know lance cant spread his mirror image like Yoda can.
i wonder if we can make a build with that sigils than augment damage the less skill you have, like Stoicism to prevent to get out of our combo, and some drain life to heal yourself while hiting and while being invulnerable with the finisher, i'm to lazy t grind tho ^^
It's probably possible, I'm sure they didn't include it in the game for no reason. The only reason I'm personally hesitant to go that route is because for some characters it just seems like they might not play as fun with no skills, like Percival would be dead in the water being a normal attacker.
His first sigil with 30% dmg up dont work because of the dmg cap :/
Invincibility data is a bit off. Nimble doesn’t stack with other buffs because they proc at the exact same time. So I believe you’re still at 6ish seconds of invincibility (stopwatch testing)
You're correct, I tested it myself just now to make sure and I was off, I guess it looked like it was more due to a placebo of having both sigils on. That's on me, thank you for the correction!
@@Akholyte just passing it along. I was going for stacks on him too 😂. It’s enough anyway so that’s okay
Hey so whatvis the best way to level or even power level the other characters? Is there an efficient way to do this?
Can Roseta double the amount of the heal from her roses passive for the entire team ? Dose it Scall on some states like ATK , HP ?
I haven't played around with Rosetta too much so I couldn't say I'm sorry. The best thing to do would be to take your entire party into the training dummy and see if you can improve her healing with some sigils
@@Akholyte im still working on your guide video to achieve best build, so it will take a while to figure that out
Im a fucking SIMP healer all i dream about when i sleep is to heal everything everybody in any game
no supplemental dmg?
You can totally run supplementary damage if you have it, and I am not saying it's bad but I just like having other stuff in my kit personally. Technically he has supplementary damage already in his kit because of the parry so there's that. It's not as much damage as if I ran the sigil but unless I get a 5+ with a good subtrait I'm not stressing it
Imagine coping on not running Supp Dmg rofl!
